Pacers and Nets discussing trade to send package including Danny Granger and 10th pick for Devin Harris, Yi and No. 3 pick, sources tell Y!
Thoughts on this possible deal?

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDang.. What would they do for a PG???
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 11:34am #339819

paint intruderParticipantI think that would be crazy.
What/how would the Pacers be without Granger?
Devin Harris, in my opinion, wouldn’t make them a better team.

BasketballGuru24Participantthey have the 31st pick and armon johnson , vasquez, sherron collins, and terrico white can be chosen.

Lotto StudParticipantI hate it because we would lose a PG, to draft a point that’s not even better in this draft.

T-WOLF FANParticipantIf this deal goes down, I would say that the Pacers get the better end of the deal… The pacers get an upgrade at the PG position compared to what they have now, the Pacers also would get the 3rd pick and I would assume that they would take Wesley Johnson.

kolds1028ParticipantIf I were the Pacers I would take this deal in a heartbeat. Harris and Yi would start and contribute immediately. Draft Cousins and you have a team of Harris, Rush, Yi, Murphy, and Cousins. Thats much better than Earl Watson, Rush, Granger, Murphy and Hibbert. Do it!!

The8thDeadlySinParticipantSo they are giving away an All-Star PG to draft and start a second round PG??
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 11:41am #339830

SmooveKRYPTParticipantwhat would the Pacers do at 3? they would then have Murphy and Yi, so Favors would create a logjam at the 4. No way in hell Larry Bird drafts Cousins. Wes Johnson? he’s like a downgraded version of Granger, so they’d be better off just keeping Danny. I hear they’re high on Udoh, but the 3rd pick is way too high for him. Thoughts?

MagikKnickParticipantAlso says Pacers would take Favors, but the Nets are “lukewarm” on this deal

I like it for the Nets, Granger would be great, but they’d have a HUGE hole at the PG spot,I dont think Johnson, Vazquez, Collins, Bledsoe would be able to fill

IndianaBasketballParticipantWow… I don’t know what to think about this potential deal.
All I know is that Danny Granger is an established player. He’s a 20+ point scorer… One of the top five small forwards in the league and the face of the team. Devin Harris is talented, but injury proned… Yi has shown promise, but hasn’t really lived up to the hype… Favors hasn’t even played a NBA game.
That’s a tough decision to make.

Draft night in all its glory! I love the idea for New Jersey. Danny Granger is better than Wes Johnson will be. Devin Harris and Avery Johnson did not get along in their first go-around. The 10th pick would still give them three rookies to bring into their mix. I don’t know about Indiana. Nobody at ESPN will say that Larry Bird is a lousy GM, but he really is awful. I could see him making the move, but unless it is for DeMarcus Cousins they are taking a project in Favors. I don’t know if moving Granger for Favors will pay off even if it nets them Harris.

I concur… I concur. He’s worse than awful.

GreenLanternParticipantThis is a spectacular deal for NJ! It won’t happen though because NJ would take a PR hit in the short team with no guaranteed success. You don’t trade good PGs unless you have a dang good insurance plan at the spot.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIf New Jersey can go to Chris Bosh and say that he could be “THE” guy, but also have Danny Granger and Brook Lopez teamed with him on the front court, I think the PR hit would be minimal. They’d still have two firsts and #31. If they come away with Ed Davis, Jordan Crawford, and Armon Johnson, they go from 12 win team to really interesting in one day.
