No matter what happens with the Finals,  All Heat players need to take a giant pay cut and go after another Superstar or getting above average role players…They need to replace a knock down 3 point shooter, interior scoring and finding a possible defensive stopper/scorer to replace Wade.

Some Free Agents they need to look at are..

Marcin Gortat-  Allows Chris Bosh to play the 4 and Gortat to score down low.  Would do wonders for the team.

Kyle Lowry-  I believe one of the more important Free Agents targets they should look at.  I think it will be out of their price range but acquiring him could mean another 2 titles coming their way.

Jodie Meeks- Someone who is deadly from 3 to fill the Ray Allen void to some degree

Chris Kaman- Another down low post scorer, can never have enough

Danny Granger- If he can regain some of his old form, adding him to the mix could be huge for the 2nd unit for the Heat.

Darren Collison-  Defense and 3 point shooting.  A replacement for Mario if he decides to leave.  I see Mario and Collison as the same player but Mario being a bit bigger muscle wise.

Rodney Stuckey- A 2nd unit scorer, Could some what be a starter and let Wade play a Manu role for the heat.

Why wouldn’t they just go to San Antonio?

Can you imagine a big man core of Duncan, Gortat, Splitter, Diaw, and Bonner?

Or, DC upgrading their backup point guard spot, allowing Patty Mills to take someone else’s money?

If Rashard Lewis wants to continue to chase a ring, wouldn’t he think about going to San Antonio?  The Spurs LOVE shooters.  Lewis can shoot, and is a decent scorer and rebounder.  He can play the stretch four in small lineups or the 3 in bigger lineups.  Rashard Lewis can help the Spurs counter some smaller OKC lineups that feature Durant at the 4 and another wing player at the 3.  Kahwi Leonard could guard KD while Rashard Lewis guards the small forward or they use him to front Steven Adams or Kendrick Perkins (or maybe Ibaka).

Also, it looks like its more fun to play on San Antonio than Miami.

It’s gotta be more fun for a bench player to play for San Antonio. They only play their starters about 30mpg each. Their bench is vital to them. Miamiruns thier starters into the ground

Doubtful they can afford Gortat or Lowry after the years they had. Lowry would be a great replacement for Chalmers if he decides to leave though.

Meeks is the most realistic and fits a need the most as well. He was one of the few bright spots in a dark year for the Lakers

Granger and Kaman are still question marks. Didn’t see enough from either this year to convince me either can stay healthy and effective. I live in LA and watch every Lakers/Clips game.

Collison would be great, but I really hope he resigns with Clips, he’s proven over and over he’s not a starting PG in this league.

Stuckey will most likely go chase money on a bottom feeder to never be heard from again, I don’t know the last time he was relevant’.

They could go anywhere but the title of the post was who they should pursue. Also they they could afford Gortat and Lowry(maybe not both) but if everyone takes a pay cut like they should they can.  Especially if they are taking a pay cut for Melo supposedly.  No way Lowry or Gortat are asking for Melo money.

Rashard Lewis would be a good fit on the Spurs.  They actually need depth at small forward.  While Lewis is more of a stretch four now, he can still play some 3.  He could also work in Leonard and Lewis lineups with Kawhi Leonard rebounding, defending, slashing, and scoring, with Lewis shooting 3’s and helping out on rebounds.

If the Spurs continue to start TD and Diaw, then Splitter is their main big off the bench.  Splitter is great on defense and good on the boards, but he has no range.  Rashard Lewis has lots of range, and is more of an athlete than Matt Bonner.

If Rashard Lewis can rediscover his post game that would give the Spurs’ offense yet another wrinkle.

Lewis could come off the bench for either Kawhi Leonard, Diaw, or Duncan, or be part of a big lineup with two centers (Duncan and Splitter) with Rashard at the 3, and maybe even Kawhi and Manu at the guard spots.

Rashard could also start, allowing Diaw and Splitter to come off the bench.

They’re buying off the discount rack. Maybe a fresh batch of chasers will be available for next to nothing (Paul Pierce?), but that’s it.

What they need is (aside from a complete overhaul youth. Even if it isn’t top shelf, just some guys to match energy and run full tilt.

Doesn’t Miami kind of have to "run their starters into the ground"? That’s kind of the game you play when you go all in on a "Big 3". You can’t have a Big 3 plus an elite bench. That’s the tradeoff. And it’s worked fine for them, they are in the Finals for the 4th year in a row.

The guy that OP mentions that actually makes a lot of sense to me is Stuckey. If you can get him with the Mini Mid-Level, I think he’s a fit.

Kirk Heinrich is a perfect fit.

Collison is an upgrade over Chalmers. As a Heat fan, I’ve been telling anybody who will listen how bad Chalmers is for years and I’m pissed that it took us losing and him being more than worthless to illuminate my point.

    Kaman is too slow.

The one guy in this class that actually moves the meter for me is Pau Gasol. Sure, he’s a little redundant with Bosh but If we can get him for the Mid-Level, he makes us better. I don’t think he’s worth a whole lot more than that anyways so its feasable he would take the paycut.

Call me crazy but Lance Stephenson would be a fit if he would take the mid-level. I think the Heat would turn him loose on the 2’s and use him as a lockdown defender in the 4th quarter. Riley could handle him.

Overall, this free agency sucks ass and we have no trade assets so I suspect the big 3  opt in and this year is something of a transitional year.
