If Philadelphia really wants Exum and believe he is the long term answer over MCW, I believe they should try to trade MCW for a lottery pick and a team who might take that is Orlando with their 12th pick. Orlando might already be targeting a big with the 4th pick which would leave them needing a pg and I don’t think u get a better pg than Carter-Williams with the 12th pick.

    Orlando gets: MCW

    Philly gets: Mo Harkless/12th pick

    Orlando Lineup: MCW,Oladipo,Tobias/Vucevic,Embiid/Randle/Vonleh

Philly lineup: Exum 3rd pick, Lavine 10th pick, McDermott 12th pick, Thaddeus, Noel/Mcgary 32nd pick

    Should both teams consider this?

As a Sixers fan I don’t like that deal. I am totally against trading MCW. I could live with it if he was essentially traded for Marcus Smart if Hinkie really believes in that move, but we should certainly try an Exum MCW back court before we worry about fit.

I think Exum has star potential at the 2.

MCW straight up for the 4 pick perhaps, but nothing less than that makes sense to me.

isn’t worth the 4th pick in this draft or in most drafts.

True, but that is what I would need to do it, and I still wouldn’t be crazy about it. He had a terrific year for us at a premium position and he still has a lot of upside.

Ill take the high quality prospect that I know, over the high quality prospect that I don’t.

I’ve read that talks have happened between Laker and Philly for MCW for 7th pick, and I’m sure the Kings would do MCW for 8th so I’m sure they could do better than 12.  I think there is a pretty big drop off in this draft after the top 8.

No coach in their right mind would take on a team with that many rookies.

Also why doesn’t Philly draft Exum 3rd?

Also why doesn’t Philly draft someone that plays literally any other position instead of picking someone to replace their point guard who just won ROY?

Yeah, all this take Exum & trade MCW stuff is silly.

76ers couldn’t care one bit at the moment that “these guys can’t play together”. All they’re doing is acquiring the best talent right now.

Maybe if they trade MCW, it’s because they were offered a sweetheart deal they couldn’t refuse (which isn’t Orlando’s 12th pick), but in my view, they sure aren’t going to trade him because, hypothetically, they just drafted Dante Exum at #3.

and any GM would realize that starting 3 rookies is a bad idea.  Of course if those 3 rookies were named Jordan, Bird and Johnson the idea of starting 3 rookies would be a very good idea.

of that deal happening, MCW has a lot more value than Harkless plus 12. I could almost see MCW plus 10 for 4 plus ?

I agree with most of you, but MCW is more valuable than you think. His mental assets are very high.

I wouldnt trade MCW less than Oladipo + 12

Btw Gordon in this draft is mentally best among them. Mark my words these can make a player grow in time. Intelligence, ability to form sentences, ability to think clearly. Some are above others.
