Aran updated the 2010 Top 100 Big Board, and unless I missed his name, Luke Harangody wasn’t in the Top 100 draft prospects. I’m having a very hard time trying to figure out how or why anyone would think there are 100 guys who are better draft prospects than Harangody.

Don’t get me wrong, I fully realize he won’t be an All Star at the next level, just a decent role player. Nonetheless, he belongs in anyone’s list of top 100 prospects.

Luke Harangody is short for a PF and slow footed. However, he’s one of those guys you simply cannot judge on his height and less than imposing physical skills. Despite his lack of height and slow foot speed, Harangody seems to have something special that allows him to dominate at the collegiate level in one on the nation’s toughest conferences.

Oh by the way, maybe his strength helps make up for the lack of height?

Wow, May not be a top prospect, but top 100 is definetly worthy…

I dont understand how Renardo Sidney has yet to play, but jumped up 19 spots..

Looking at the list right now…i think he should be mid-50s

yeah thats disrespectful. as far as being too short for pf i have to disagree. one because he works hard and 2 because he’s 6’8. there are guys shorter who have played pf pretty well who dont jumnp out of the gym. and if chuck hayes can play center or laundry can play pf then luke can do it possibly even better

at the NBA combine last spring. Therefore, I go with 6 ft 7 as his height.

I forgot to mention that most people were impressed with his surprising athleticism at the NBA combine. No, he isn’t another Kobe Bryant, but he was much better than people expected.

there are not a lot of 6’8 players are good defenders outside of Lebron that I know of

6’8 seems to be classic tweener height not long enough to block shots
not quick enough laterally to defend
so I think Luke should get a pass

I would love to see him bring some offensive punch off the bench as a large small forward

there are more tall guys who are bad defenders though…and these days height isnt as important to play down low..these days alllot of guys are “undersized” because people are thinking out side of the box and noticing a good pf can be 6’7 or 6’10 because if they are good then it doesn’t matter. and they dont have to be bangers. there arent any lock down pf in the nba so you dont need luke to be able to shut down a pf. all he would need to do is make them work like other power fowards do and thats all that matters. skill is alot more important then height. always has been when it comes to basketball

If he doesn’t get drafted he should look into becoming a Tight End. The guy is a monster.

He was the strongest guy in the combine last year repping 185 23 times, one more than Blake Griffin. Jon Brockman is contributing to the Kings this season, and Harongody has more to offer than Brockman. He has better range, is a better athlete and has quite a few offensive moves and is an 80% foul shooter. I think by the end of the season after holding his own and putting up big numbers, once again in major conference play, he’ll go in the 35-45 range. I think he is Big Baby crossed with Troy Murphy, not as quick but with good footwork for a big guy and a good mid range J like big baby, but could really develop as a PF with a NBA 3 range like Murphy did.

OK guys this has been an interesting thread with lots of excellent contributions from different people. I think JoeWolf1 did a great job of analyzing why Harangody should do well in the NBA.

As the guy who started it, I have to once again ask the same question, why or how could NBADraft.net leave Harangody completely out of the top 100 draft prospects? I guess Aran believes there are 100 players who have more potential than Harangody in the draft. I personally have a hard time believing that’s true.
