shipargosParticipantAccording to the article he has lost 23 pounds, and he hopes to lost 20 more, while gaining great conditioning.
As we all know the 2012 draft will be heavy stocked with talent, but what IF (be prepared, big IFs)
– He currently loses that 20 pounds, lets say he hovers around the 255 pounds
– Gains great conditioning
– Changes his attitude and try to prove people wrong, by working hard.
Imagine that you are on the verge of the 2012 draft, and he has posted 20pp 10 rebs and 2 blocks.
If all of this happens (which is saying a lot) where would you rank Sidney as a prospect?
Near Lotto
Late first
Early second

MCRIZZParticipantRenardo Sidney of MSU for those who didnt read the article… thats ALOTT of "what ifs" to place on the guy and personally I think the attitude issues are the biggest obstacle…
but…
Lets say he does do all the things you have listed…. I think he could be late first near lotto talent as at one point alot of people considered him the latest can’t-miss prospect. Just about everyone had him pegged as the No. 1 player in the country at one time.
This article is a very good read on sidney and the issues in his life:

HobbyOGParticipantIF he plays Center he could be a late lottery pick. No legitmite Centers in the 2012 draft..

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI think Sidney will be 1 of the many stories of next year’s college basketball season…
I mentioned a few weeks ago, that if he lost some weight, got in better condition, improved his attitude and became a better post defender…It’ll be hard for teams not to look at him in the top 5 of next year’s draft….He had missed a season and a half and played well, but you could see he lacked conditioning and seemed fatiqued at times and that cut into his minutes..But he did average 14 points/7 rebounds in 19 games…
Some have written him off and some say he will never be a lottery pick..But there are alot of ”What IFS Surrounding him..Its all up to him..Becuz the has the talent to be a very special player..
Teams have given a number of other players 2nd chances…Miss. St. will will be returning a lot of talent in Hood,Moultrie and Bost…I have them in the top 20 preseason..
Sidney have a much better skill-set than Sullinger who will be a top 6 pick..

RUDEBOY_Participantrydawgsw^^^Dude you must have never saw Sidney play?
Last year alot of people thought Cousins was the 2nd best player in the draft..But his attitude turned away alot of teams..Becuz they didnt want to deal with his problems..Sidney troubles are far worse than Cousins was coming out of Kentucky..But the talent is there to be special…
Sullinger has the talent to be an all star..But if Sidney gets his act 2gether, he can be a franchise type player..But with all of his baggage not many teams will be willing to take a chance on him in the top 20,Unless he cleans up his act…

cward23ParticipantSydny is talented enough to be put in or near the same sentence as Sullinger IF he loses weight and work on his attitude (he seems to be working on both by him losing weight and coming back inside of going in the draft). For those who have never seen him play when he was in shape(not great shape but better shape then college) the kid has a Antonie Walker type game. Nice handles for his size, good midrange and nice post up game. He can easily be a lotto pick if his condidtion and attitude has indeed changed

NJHooper95ParticipantYou are correct. Sidney when focused and in shape is a better prospect than Sullinger. I think he is just as skilled if not more skilled than Sullinger. Sidney has alot of Derrick Coleman to him. He can be as good as he wants to be, or as bad as he wants to be.

cward23Participant^^ Coleman is another good comparision. Sydney’s skill level is where alot of people want P.Jones kill level to be
Sf handles
Sf jumper
Good footwork and post moves down lowTheres a reason he was ranted the number 1 prospect in his class at one point, and we all know the reason he dropped (conditioning, attitude)
