CynthiaParticipantCasspi has been waived by the Pelicans already. I realize it’s probably because he broke his thumb in their very first game, but considering how shallow they are on the wing I’m not sure this was wise.
They signed Reggie Williams to a 10-Day contract, whom is 1/8 the player Casspi is. They will most likely keep attempting to sign free agents going forward until someone meshes well.
The Pelicans won the trade for sure, but they also gave up most of their decent wings. What they have left is garbage. It’s already proving to be an issue even though AD & DMC are balling.
Back to Casspi though, obviously injured or not this guy is still a mid-tier NBA player in my opinion and can fit into almost any team. Who do you think will jump out and grab him?

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantI hope the Pelicans keep losing so they can draft someone. Could you imagine Ball on this team with his court vision. That would be scary

OhCanada-ParticipantSacramento owns their pick in the2017 draft. They will be committed to winning.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantThey had no choice, their wing depth is already trash. They had no choice but to add someone who can actually step on the court.

SubZeroParticipantAnytime there’s a free agent that isn’t very highly desired but can still contribute, I always want the Spurs to pick them up. Not a Spurs fan but a Spurs respecter and appreciater, and I know if any team brings out the best in players, it’s them

RioRepParticipantThey should have kept Casspi and waived DMC. ESPN is saying they should adjust to him quicly. Wait! What?!

brodiejayParticipantYeah I definitely rate Casspi as a player. He’s very versatile and I think he’s a better defender than he gets credit for. He always takes a solid, low defensive stance and actually moves laterally a lot quicker than I expect him to.
Solid bench contributer that could really help a playoff team once he’s recovered from his thumb injury. Will be interesting to see what team picks him up. I think he’d be a good fit for OKC if they have a roster spot for him.

jerb2011ParticipantI thought this immediately! The type of catch-and-shoot wing that could be really effective with Russell and his style of play

Jr. ROXASParticipantThey just signed Hollis Thompson, who is honestly one of the worst players in the NBA. (Along with Jakarr Sampson when both of them were with the 6ers)
Maybe they should get back Archie Goodwin? Although he doesn’t shoot the 3 that well he provides playmaking off the bench and good D. Another low-key option is Ben Gordon. Once an elite shooter who will get a ton of open shots playing with AD and DMC.
