Does anyone else think this is a really good deal for New Orleans? They have a more durable option with Okafor now and though their post D takes a bit of a hit, Okafor is still a capable defender and now they have two skilled big men. West and Okafor can both put up big points with CP3 passing to them. I like this move. Chandler was not gifted offensively and Okafor isnt super skilled either but he is much better than Chandler and with the best PG in the league passing to him, he might be able to average 17 or 18. What do you guys think?

No I’m against it from the moment I heard it. It’s a bad move waiting to happen. I’m not saying Chandler was the Answer for them, but your putting so much Offensive pressure now on Peja Stojakovic and Chris Paul. Charlotte should be thankful they were able to dump off Emeka Okafor’s ridiculous contract. The guys ceiling really is about 16-12 which in my mind is nowhere near worth what he’s making. I’m not sold on the fact that you have two legit power forwards and no true center on this roster aside from Hilton Armstrong. a 6’9 Center and a 6’8 PF are not going to get you far in the West. Bad move for New Orleans.

I dont like the mover for N.O. Okafor is a stiff he really doesnt fit the type of offense that the hornets play I think that he is more durable than chandler but like was said before he aint no center and now you got two players that play the same position thats gonna start.

on the court, I like Okafor over Chandler. But both are just solid bigs who are overpaid in todays NBA with a declining salary cap. But Okafor’s deal runs 3 years longer which is why I think it is a bad deal for Orleans. If you are gonna take on that kinda long term deal, then it better be for a guy who can push you into contention, and I don’t think Okafor is that guy. He is too inconsistent, undersized at the center position, unreliable offensively, and has’nt shown any real signs of improvement since he was drafted.
