I thought I was being ambitious putting a big board out there early… I like your mock – I think Jovic/TyTy/AJ Griffin go slightly higher. All top 10. Seabron could be the steal of the draft if he figures out shooting range.

I think JD Davison comes back unless Alabama can pull of an elite 8 run with him being a big part of it. Patrick Baldwin slips out of first round. I expect Jamarion Sharpe to go back to WKU he’ll have an even bigger year next season maybe go top 15-20. Orlando Robinson and Isaiah Mobley go in first round because they have a very good skill set for the NBA. And a bold prediction but I see Oscar Tshiebwe coming back to Kentucky especially if they don’t make a final 4 run. Otherwise I’d say a pretty good mock it’s still early if you think about it.

JD Davison will probably declare, although it could help him to stay 1 more year. Sharpe needs to improve his FT% in the worst way to improve his stock. 15-20, Doubt it. PB&J is a hard prospect to grade right now. He hasn’t been playing to evaluate. As for Orlando Robinson and Isaiah Mobley, how many teams need a PF or a C of some sort? In OhCanada’s 1st round, there are a combined 9 players that are already considered bigs and some tweeners on top of that. I’m not sold Orlando Robinson or Isaiah Mobley make the first. It’s early, but how I’ve seen things unfold so far… we have some different draft ranges on prospects.

Thanks for the feedback! Clevelands got three picks. I think they pickup Evan’s brother on good grace and I think he does well there too. Orlando Robinson’s shooting mechanics are just picture perfect. He will get drafted and I think it might even be ion the first round. He’s gonna get hot in one of these workouts and its gonna look really good. And I agree about Seabron also wouldnt be surprised if Toronto picks him, hes the exact kind of player they would pick.

I could see Cleveland drafting Isaiah because of Evan… It seems that guys like Trayce Jackson-Davis/EJ Liddell get a little more love though for some reason around the league.

I think JD Davison could very well be on a similar curve as Jaden Ivey, and Ivey’s ascension makes a good case for returning. I am not sure he follows that path. I also tend to think Ivey is probably safely inside the top 5. It isn’t often Purdue and Wisconsin have individuals stand out, but Ivey and Davis have done it.

Ochai Agbaji is somewhat tough to place at this point. He shoots it too well to come across as a 2nd rounder. On the other hand, he doesn’t have great size or really impress defensively where elevating him too far starts to feel like Corey Kisperting (and Kispert is physically bigger). Then again, there seems to be more first year eligible players who are not performing near the hype. As such, the risk assessments will probably lead to more diverse assessments and ranks.

Alondes Williams having a breakout year, and frankly breakout opportunity, might result in him rising. He started out at a Juco and then had a number of good guards that kept the ball out of his hands at Oklahoma, but he looks the part at Wake Forest. He has had big games against UNC (a win) and Duke of late. The depth of the ACC is down a bit with FSU, Louisville, Virginia, and Syracuse having off years, but a strong finish in that run against Miami, Duke, and Notre Dame might be able to make him a more prominent name.

Darryl Morsell of Marquette is a name to remember. He was Big Ten defensive POY at Maryland but limited there offensively. He has had a breakout offensive season while still being a great defensive prospect. Going from a career 27% 3-point shooter at Maryland to 37% this year should open doors for him, though as a 5-year senior will probably still be a 2nd round prospect.

Ivey is definitely a great prospect. Having him at 8 isn’t really a slight by me. Heres how I feel about the class.

Mathurin is a player that doesn’t need the ball in his hands to contribute on both ends. In this scenario the way the rosters are today playing off of Sabonis and Brogdon he is just a better fit then Davis or Ivey, Having both Duarte and Mathurin on the wings would be deadly playing off of Sabonis. Ivey/Davis still works too though but I like the fit better.

Next years draft class is loaded with ball dominate guards so picking Mathurin ahead of Ivey could end up setting you up much better in the future if you end up with a top 10 pick in the next draft. A top 10 pick might land you Bailey, Henderson, Wallace, George or even Davison if he doesnt enter this year. I know teams don’t really draft that way and just try to pick the best player but its my mock and thats what I would prioritize.

I think I’ve been sleeping on Davison. Hes kinda stuck behind two JR’s at the moment and I really don’t see Shackleford or Quinerly making the jump to pro next year so I do see JD entering the draft. Although if either of those guys transfer it would be in his best interest to stay for a year. Whoever drafts Davison though could end up with an elite talent if they have a decent development system in place because that dude has ridiculous athleticism and good competitive court sense.

Then to me Davis and Ivey is really a toss up. Could go either way but I like Davis game more. I’ve watched both play plenty of times Davis is the type of player that dictates how games are played. He ‘s a constant presence and is always competing. Theres a certain quality he has that I feel is rare, you can’t be on the court with thios guy and not wanna give it your all. At least at the college level. I think he would fit perfectly next to Dejounte Murray and Derrick White gets traded.

Then for Sacramento there seems to be a new pattern to how they are drafting. Haliburton and Mitchell. Both two way players, both self motivated and able to develop on their own. Older prospects yet proven contributors. I think this is what they are looking for, they are tired of bringing talents that need their hands held and roles designated for them they wanna find guys that will earn it. To me Keegan Murray fits that same criteria.

Oh and you guys know if the Raptors have any chance at all to draft AJ Griffin they pick him no questions asked. Theres rumors they are shopping their draft picks but I doubt it. The guys already acclimated with the team. AJ as in Adrian Jr. Remember Adrian Griffin??? His dads been lead assistant coach with the Raptors since Nurse became head coach and is a big reason why we won a championship. Wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some funny business leading up to the draft so he can ruin his stock and come to Toronto.

Also don’t see Edey playing in the NBA anytime soon. He’s getting exposed on the perimeter by Hunter Dickenson…

It is a shame for Edey that he is Canadaian and cannot get NIL deals. He is the type of guy who might be in a position where he could make more money from NIL than professionally. The NBA does not seem like a lock, and two-ways contracts aren’t guaranteed. The international market has been ravaged by covid, and guys just out of college generally aren’t viewed as worth the risk by the teams with decent money. I have wondered about guys in the college basketball hotbeds like Kansas, Kentucky, and Indiana whether they stick around because it is simply more lucrative. Two of the most likely candidates to test this, Edey and Oscar Tshiebwe, aren’t US citizens. It is possible Trayce Jackson-Davis or Christian Braun could be such guys. I’m sure they could set up youth camps over the summer throughout their state and clean up like coaches do, but they might have enough NBA appeal so that they don’t try.

Its pretty crazy to think a guy can just be too big to play basketball. I mean skills wise the guys done everything right to be an effective ballplayer but he just kept growing. But he made Dickenson look like Evan Mobley… Edey has got to be 7’5 at this point. The guy is massive.
