WizardofOzParticipantThis is very bold prediction. You better be ready for this.
I have the TENNESSEE TITANS vs the Dallas Cowboys in the Super Bowl. The Titans finished off hot last season by winning 8 of their last 10 games. I think Vince Young will breakout this year, like Chris Johnson last year. And if he does breakout this season, they’ll have the most dynamic offensive duo in the NFL. They’ll be unstoppable in the run game. And Jeff Fisher is one of the top 3 coaches in the NFL IMO.
The Cowboys are the most talented team in the NFL, and I’m sure that many people agree with me. They’re stacked. They have a good QB, and OK O-Line, a good wide receiveing core. On defense, they have a good D-Line, a good linebacking core, and a solid secondary. Miles Austin broke-out last year and hopefully he can carry that performance into this season(Hopefully he doesn’t fall into that celebrity girlfriend curse because he is currently dating Kim Kardashian). And since the Super Bowl is in their stadium, they’ll be extra motivated to play well this season so they can make the SB.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantAs a GB fan, I don’t see us making the superbowl. We don’t have the pass rushing.
I think it’s gonna be Indy vs NO in a rematch. Those are the 2 best teams.

My AFC pick is get this…The Bengals Im gonna be rooting for them all year.
But you want entertainment…E-A-G-L-E-S!!!!….They are going to be one of the funnest if not the funnest team to watch in the League…They’re young and fast…Did I say Young and Fast? Kolb, Mccoy, Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Avant, Celek, Their offense is loaded with youth and speed…And their defense is all about pass rush and trying to get turnovers…

WizardofOzParticipantI’m a Redskins fan. I’m would be really happy if they made it to the Super Bowl this season, but I doubt it will happen. Look for the Redskins to be LEGIT Super Bowl contenders in 2011.
The Redskins are much improved from last year. We had WILDY OVERRATED Jason Campbell. People think he’s so good, but he’s not. I understand that we had a bad O-Line, but on some occasions, we actually had good blocking but he held on to the ball to long and would still get sacked. And he never threw any deep balls. When people were questioning why he never throws deep, he said, “How can I throw deep when whenever I look up, someone’s coming at me and I’m getting pressured.” But Jason, that wasn’t always the case. Even when you did have good blocking, you still would not THROW DEEP. He always threw short passes like slants, which may be the coaches fault because of the play-calling, but still. And on the RARE occasions when he did throw deep, it was so inaccurate. I’m not questioning his arm. He has the arm strength, but his deep throw accuracy is very poor. A lot of times when he had a receiver open deep, he would either overthrow or underthrow them. I’m not trying to BASH Jason. He’s a nice guy and he is a servicable QB and I would be happy to have him as a #2 on the depth chart, but I just don’t think he can be a good starter and he has had crazy expectations put on him since he was traded to Oakland, and I don’t think he will be able to live up to them. Al Davis said he is the second-coming of Jim Plunkett. He will be greatly dissapointed once the season starts. A lot of people think he can turn ths Raiders franchise around, but I doubt he will. Sorry Raider fans.
Now we have Donavan McNabb, a proven veteran that has constantly led his team to the playoffs and is a top-10 QB in this league.
At RB, we need to improve. Clinton Portis was one of the most dynamic runners early in his career with Denver and during his early years in Washington, but, those days are long gone. Because of his mediocre work ethic, he is no longer one of the best backs in the league. Last year, he wouldn’t come to practice and gained weight, and because of that, has lost a lot of speed and explosion. When you’re an RB and you lose your speed, you can’t regain it. He is still servicable and is capable of being a #2 RB on the depth chart and has been working hard this offseason, but he should no longer be starting. Because he is starting, it puts little hope in me that we will be a good running team this season. We brought in Larry Johnson during the offseason, but I also think that he doesn’t have the burst that he used to. During the preseason game I saw him in, he was constantly getting stuffed. Most of it was due to the bad O-Line, but you could also see that he lost the burst he used to have. The Redskins should have drafted a running back this season, and they will pay for not drafting one once the season starts.
Our O-Line has improved, but could use somemore improvement. Duing the game when Donavan McNabb got injured, the O-Line played TERRIBLE. But we have #4 draft pick Trent Williams. Last year at Oklahoma, people questioned his work ethic but is very athletic for his size and is a good fit with the Redskins zone-blocking scheme. We also have newly acquired Jamaal Brown. He’s one of the best tackles in the league but sat out with an injury last season. Hopefully, he can bounce back with a vengeance this season.
Our defense has a new scheme. We switched from the 4-3 to the 3-4. Andre Carter will be switching from DE to OLB. Hopefully, he has a good transition. Brian Orakpo had a spetacular rookie season, and hopefully he can carry that momentum into his sophomore season. And London Fletcher is a BEAST. He’s considered ELDERLY for an NFL player, but keeps on showing that age is nothin’ but a number. He constanly is one of the league leaders in tackles. Look for him to have a similar performance this season.
Our secondary is solid. Look for Carlos Rogers to have a breakout year. He is one of the best tackling CBs and if he didn’t have stone hands, he would be a top 10 cornerback. Laron Landry was moved back to his natural position at Strong safety. He moved to free safety when Sean Taylor died(R.I.P.) and blew so many coverages. Now that he’s playing SS again, he can lineup closer to the line-of-scrimmage and hit stick everybody. Deangelo Hall is solid.
The Redskins sucked on special teams last year. Are kick return and punt return game was TERRIBLE, but with newly acquired Brandon Banks(John Wall’s buddy), we will have an explosive kick returner that can make big plays. During the preseason, every kick or punt return he made was impressive. On the downside, he muffed the ball TWICE. There’s no questioning his explosiveness though. Our kicking game was also terrible. Sean Shuisham was TERRIBLE and newly acquired kicker Graham Gano has been solid during the preseason. Look for our kicking game to be improve next year.
And we finally fired TERRIBLE coach Jim Zorn. I thought it was a bad move from the start. He had no caoching experience before the hire. He hads only been a QB coach with the Seahawks. He was a terrible play caller. Just watch this video and see for yourself.
He was going to do the play but the Giants called timeout, but he decided to try again. Don’t you think that the Giants would be expecting it after they called a timeout? We were losing 24-0, but C’MON.
Now we have Mike Shanahan. He is a great offensive coach, has a Super Bowl ring, and is a great motivater and pushes his players the hardest. I am so excited for this new REGIME.
And we finally have some stabilty in the front office. We now have newly-hired Bruce Allen, who is a great GM, and have moved on from Vinny Cerrato who was TERRIBLE.
I do undersatnd that I could’ve broken the record for the longet post on this site just now. My hand was hurting the whole time while I was typing lol.

T-Wolvesfan13ParticipantI am a huge vikings fan. I think we are going to take it this year! Vikings vs Ravens in the superbowl! And for everyone picking the packers to win. WHY??? They did not add anyone to there team! The vikings beat them twice! And we are returning the same team from last year! The espn is trying to make the packers into the favorites even though they are the same team that was not even in the top 5 teams last year!

ghettosermonParticipantWizard of Oz I do believe the Skins are underrated and should at least win 7 games and could possibly sneak into a wild card spot with 9 or 10 wins but I honestly can’t see them being superbowl contenders any time soon. McNabb is a huge upgrade but he has a 3-4 year window and I don’t see you having enough to be true contenders. Your RB situation is bad and everything depends on Portis’s health because Larry Johnson proved with a great Cinci line last year that he was crap. Cedric Benson is far from an explosive back but he was tearing teams apart on that Bengals line while LJ was looking like Shaun Alexander when he was on the skins. Hate to say it but you have one of the 5 worst wide receiver corps in the NFL. Santana Moss really is your only wideout who would make any NFL roster and even he at this point in his career should be a #2 or slot. Joey Galloway, Anthony Armstrong, Roydell Williams, and Brandon Banks all wouldn’t make most rosters in the NFL. Devin Thomas is the one guy with promise because of his size to speed ratio but he doesn’t run consistent routes and doesn’t have good hands, he’s a body catcher. Luckily for you Mcnabb aside from last year is accustomed to working with crap receivers. Your 2 TE’s are good at least. Your O-line is pretty solid. Jamaal Brown will be a huge pickup if he can return to form. Trent Williams show’s promise but needs to improve on his balance as he is easily thrown to the side by skilled pass rushers. Dockery and Rabach are solid, Artis Hicks has questions. As far as your D-line it’s pretty good. Carriker is a nice 34 bookend, Kemo should be a good nose. The big Question is fat albert. The guy is so damn lazy and a team cancer. Will be interesting to see if he sticks with the team. Your linebackers are good although the depth is not great. Fletcher is a monster after all these years. Rocky McIntosh is one of the most underrated LB’s in the NFL but is limited in a 34 because he isn’t enough of a thumper that you’d want in that ILB. He’s a prototype 43 OLB unfortunately. Brian Orakpo is the star of your defense. IMO 15 sacks is a realistic goal for him. He will be a pro bowler. The other side is tricky. The reason Andre Carter left San Francisco was because he sucked when he had to play OLB when they converted to a 34, and that was 5 years ago when he was more athletic. It sucks for Carter since he had such a great season last year and is a fringe pro bowl 43 DE, but as a 34 OLB he just doesn’t work well in space. Watching him run in space you can tell he’s a DE. I wouldn’t be shocked to see someone like Lorenzo Alexander take his job or maybe move Rocky outside and put in HB Blades inside. 34 is a bad fit for Carter. Your secondary is pretty good. Carlos as you said is a great tackler and solid in coverage. He is highly susceptible though to double moves and will get burned deep quite frequently. Deangelo Hall has really revitalized his career. Landry is poised for a breakout year. SS is where he belongs and can utilize his size and speed. He just needs to learn how to tackle first. FS is a trouble spot for you. Kareem Moore got hurt from what I understand and he is your only true FS. Doughty doesn’t have enough range and Horton is a pure SS who could probably even play some LB. It’s too bad you don’t have a rangier safety because Carlos tends to need up top help a lot.

It’s too bad you don’t have a rangier safety because Carlos tends to need up top help a lot.

stanford hoopsHow is our rb situation bad? Portia has been pretty good. And mcnabb 3-4 year window? Qbs last alot longer then other positions
suprisingly there are alot of NFL people who think the skins have a chance to be very good. I worry about our offensive line though. Love our defense

HaleParticipantI’m a Packer fan but I think it will be Ravens or Jets vs. Saints in the Super Bowl. No idea who wins.
Also, there is absolutely no way the Redskins win it all. Sorry Stanford but not even close.
