Malik-UniversalParticipanti have a diliema… here it goes lol… btw, plz read the whole thing, i want some opinions… i got cut from my varsity team in my junior year last season, when i clearly i shouldve made it… now ima senior… and i have improved greatly since last year, and last yr i was still good at ball, i had made my bball team since 7th grade… and my school has lost a pretty good amount of talent in regards to the bball team… i have good height for HS bball, i can shoot anywhere on the court, i have “unlimited” range, i am a good athelte, and i consider myself verstaile… but the coach is gnna put me at center when im one of the best shooters in the school, and i can slash really against anybody… im 6’2” but i only weigh 177 lbs… i have really no center skills cuz im used to being on the perimeter so much… i have a good chance to make the team due to the amount of talent loss from last yr… but shood i play in an intermeral league for a local university and get all the PT i want, and play better competition.. or play for my school and show people how much i have improved…. thoughts? sorry bout the length u guys!!!!!!!! 🙂

TyroberParticipanti think this is pretty obvious. if you see yourself as a guard why play center for your highschool team? it seems like a no brainer to ahead and play at the local college against better people and play your natural position

sheltwon3ParticipantThere are a lot of schools like that. I am not surprised. Which place can you be seen more because that is key if you want to get a college scholarship.

cuseflynn10ParticipantAsk your coach and see if you could be a different position. I’m a freshman and I know there’s at least 5-10 freshman that are 6’0+ (I’m from a small school) so considering it’s varsity, I’d assume you have some taller guys than yourself on the team. I could be wrong so if I am than I understand why you’d be a center. If I’m right tell your high school coach that you feel more comfortable playing as a swingman, rather than a center since you don’t have much experience. I know I was a shooting guard in 5th, 6th, and 7th grade but had a major growth spurt and became the center. If center is what gets you playing time than you have to adjust. My first game at center I got 7 points and 7 blocks. In the end do what you think is best for yourself.

SubZeroParticipantHow big is your school? Mine’s about 300 kids altogether, elementary and high school. Btw KSU, my team has the 3 tallest guys in my district (2 6′ 5″s and I’m 6′ 3″, and I’m the point guard lol). Can’t dunk yet, but I’m getting closer…no clue if I’ll ever get noticed but I might try to walk on somewhere when I graduate in ’12
