bloodshyParticipantCrazy night tonight in MMA. Anderson Silva, undefeated since 2006, got knocked out tonight. He’s probably the best MMA fighter in history, but got caught taunting his opponent and was knocked out cold.

frogmanParticipantI like Anderson Silva but I do love when someone acts all cocky and taunts there opponent who in turn knocks them the hell out. Bit of a reality check. Silva will be back… if he wants it.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHope he got humbled. I love Silva but he needed to be knocked out for not respecting Weidman at all.

GrandmamaParticipant100% agree, definitely deserved to get knocked out for fighting like that. What the hell was he doing??

llperezSame thing he does every single fight. He just did it a little more tonight cause Weidman was a legit threat and silva didn’t have as many opportunities to attack so he threw the taunting stuff into full gear.

Sewok15ParticipantHe has been acting a fool in the cage for a while but he finally came up against a fighter who wasn’t frustrated by his antics. He is still an all time great but he hasn’t been challenged that much really in his UFC career. His toughest opponent before tonight was probably Dan Henderson. He is like a lot of basketball players in the sense that his immense talent makes me love watching him do his thing…but then he does dumb stuff like tonight and it almost makes me despise him.
He was talking about how he respected all the fighters he faces in his prefight interviews but then shows a complete lack of respect in the cage. I was cheering like crazy when he got his head bounced off the mat tonight and Weidman will be a great champion who won’t take things for granted like Silva has.

aivsdirkParticipantdamn, thats news. fighting for money and fame doesnt really have the highest level of honor in it to me but I still watch to be honest. thats why i cant say he deserved to get knocked out because of his taunting, its a fame sport not any honorable martial arts tournament but those antics do open the door for someone to catch you off guards. I guess thats who he is in the ring by this point. live and you learn

llperezHaven’t missed a ufc card in about 12 years. It’s the only sport I like more then basketball. And I knew Weidman COULD win tonight. But to see him do it was a great feeling, especially after silva taunted all fight once again. Hell, he even started to taunt on the combo that finished it. I’ve always felt georges st Pierre, was #1 p4p.
Amazing card overall. Cub Swanson vs siver was great. Edgar vs olivera was great. Kennedy neautraluzubg gracies world renown ground game had me on my toes. Gonzaga with a 17 second ko. Just amazing card top to bottom. Just would have liked Chris leben to have won. He’s washed up.

Sewok15ParticipantI agree on just about everything you said here. The only thing I disagree with is that Leben is washed up…in my opinion he was never that good to begin with. He was always just an exciting guy to watch because he is always an aggressive fighter who can take a punch as well as anyone in the history of the sport.
He beat Swick, Cote, Rivera and The Axe Murderer (who was washed up) but every top level guy he fights he has lost to. Munoz, Stann, Bisping and Anderson Silva all made pretty easy work of him. He is still a fun guy to watch and is only 32 so I think he will have at least 3 more years in him but he has never been considered a contender in my mind.

Jr. ROXASParticipantAnderson Silva was a little bit too cocky in that fight just like that damien maia fight. This time though his oppenent could really hit hard with his punches. Weidman vs Munoz cmon!

llperezI do think Munoz cold put up a better fight, but Weidman and Munoz just fought. It was Thier last fights for each of them before tonight. And Weidman walked right through him. I would put Silva for a rematch, belfort and jacare all ahead of a Munoz title shot.

visitorParticipantOn the first round, he took shots from the ground and standing up. He did well showing on the late first round that he can defend take downs.
On the second round, anderson silva took his taunting to another level. He became too confident and was lazy moving his feet slightly evading the punches he even acted that he got wobbled or is he just dancing but still that shows no respect to his opponent.
In his age he is faster and more athletic than weidman. He can defend his takedown. But if you show no respect to your opponent you deserve to lose even if your better. He shouldn’t expect that he can easily beat weidman in the rematch if ever there is a rematch.

For_Never_EverParticipantI didn’t get to watch the fight. However, I have always questioned his opponents to anyone that I know that follows the sport, because people have said and considered him the best in the game. But his competition has also been sub par compared to GSP, IMO. The best he has faced is Belfort. Who he did beat, but is only good cause he has been a cheat his whole career with HGH/ Roids. Any MMA fan knows this fool is a dirty juiced up fighter.

Meditated StatesParticipantTo f#(k with. Got what he deserved. Rematch would be a big $ fight. Losing makes him more bread. Brilliant.

thunderjerkParticipantShowboating and having your hands down is one thing, it’s another thing to get KOed, get up, seem happy and decline a rematch.
