Knicksboy34ParticipantESPN just said Odom to leaning towards accepting Miami’s MLE….What do you think?

ummm…LooneyParticipantWEE JILIKERS. hopefully they can confiscate Boozer too
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:18pm #190301

dwat4444ParticipantWTF is wrong with this dude? 9 million for 4 years in LA with a chance to win 3 titles or a mle in miami with a decent shot at cracking the top 5 in the East? Let’s see what is the better option???
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:18pm #190302
kong47272ParticipantI think that whatever happened between Odom and the Laker’s this offseason was bigger than what we originally thought, egos have been bruised and both sides are going to come out worse for it. Laker’s because Odom makes them a much better team, and Odom because his chances of winning a championship decrease greatly and he will be making the same amount of money if not less.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantThats Crazy!!!! Why Lose about 5 million more dollars, and a ring……..thats a lose lose situation, and dwayne wade might leave next year. Odom is probably making one of the worst decsions ever

xbadgerhustlerParticipantill believe that when i see it
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:29pm #190311

Knicksboy34ParticipantGuru….I was right you can re-enter a NBA draft!
But I agree with you. If he was gonna leave LA why go to Miami. The answer is Taxes. No state Taxes so Odom keeps more money…guess he wanted more cash
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:31pm #190312

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Odom camp isn’t stupid… This is just a game of tug of war. They know his ideal situation is with the Lakers. They’re just trying to get the upper hand… Gain leverage.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:32pm #190314
xbadgerhustlerParticipantand for the record, less STATE income taxes will not close the entire gap between 9 mill and 5.8 mill… if he got outta FEDERAL income taxes, than it’d probably come close, but he’s not getting outta that…. so he’s not doing it cause he wants more cash
another thing, i don’t think that his entire income is even taxable in his team’s state- it’s taxable in whereever the game is played. I THINK. So probably half of his income would be exempt from state income taxes.

IndianaBasketballParticipantSpitting that knowledge! Lol.

xbadgerhustlerParticipanthaha tax accounting is my trade
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:35pm #190320
BasketballGuru24ParticipantMy Bad I Never knew you can re-enter yourself in the draft…….but still state taxes, he won’t be losing as much as he is making with…..state taxes in Cali is 10% for anyone that has more then 1 million dollars….and he is to earn a approximate amount of 10 million making him losing only 1 million dollars still more money Miami is giving him……..
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:36pm #190321

Knicksboy34Participantand for the record, less STATE income taxes will not close the entire gap between 9 mill and 5.8 mill…
I know that but California has the 2nd highest state tax. Im not saying that’s the only reason he goes to Miami but it could be a factor.
This makes me also think that Miami may get Boozer.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:38pm #190322
ummm…LooneyParticipantYABBADABBADO they will confiscate BOOzer and theyre lineup will be
Chalmers
Wade
Beasley
BOOzer
Onealand ODAM-N off the bench
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:42pm #190325

Knicksboy34ParticipantListen I think Odom is waiting on this Boozer thing.
-If Boozer is a Heat, he goes to MIA
-If Boozer is a Knick, he goes to LA
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:42pm #190324
xbadgerhustlerParticipantlol sorry to get nerdy on u guys… i wonder what cali state rates are…. 10%? ~ I guess that’d bring that deal down to about 8 million…. IMO though, I’d much rather play with Dwyane Wade than Bryant. DWade just seems like a much better teammate.
the tax rate is 10.3% so…. 9,000,000 X (1-.103) = 8.073 mill after state income taxes
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:44pm #190327
ummm…LooneyParticipantKnicksboy thats crazy talk
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:45pm #190328
xbadgerhustlerParticipantWhat’s the logic on going after Boozer when they already have Beasley, ONeal, Haslem… and now (maybe) Odom? Don’t they have bigger needs in the backcourt? I donno… His expiring deal is attractive because then they’ll still be under the cap, but I don’t see them getting Boozer without giving up Beasley, and I just don’t think that’s worth it.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:47pm #190330

Knicksboy34ParticipantI think it is because you must impress Wade
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:49pm #190332
xbadgerhustlerParticipantSo…. wouldn’t Wade be more impressed by the Heat snagging someone to help out in the backcourt?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:50pm #190334
ummm…LooneyParticipantORIOLES iffy u keepin BEAS-KNEES and GETTA BOOZ u can trada la bigman for la quailty GUARD
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:53pm #190336
xbadgerhustlerParticipantlol go pass out drunk-a$$
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:54pm #190339

Knicksboy34Participantmaybe but Chalmers and Cook are not bad. You need a frontcourt…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:56pm #190342
BasketballGuru24ParticipantThe East is a jungle so i don’t know why he would go there for a ring?? The lakers have conference finals on paper if injuries don’t happen, and a easier trip to the finals……With the heat he has other teams that are way better then him to compete with…….I think Odom and jerry buss are acting like to couple fighting……either a divorce will occur or they will have make up sex lol
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:57pm #190343
ummm…LooneyParticipantCOOK- MY EGG_ROLLS is ok CHALMDURRS was a ROOK not a ready to a start a
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 6:58pm #190345
xbadgerhustlerParticipantHAHAHAHA mario chalmers and dequan cook? do u really think that’s the strength of their team? At least we know Haslem is a serviceable big man who rebounds and defends pretty well and can knock down the mid-range….
Mario Chalmers… come on now. i’m a huge fan cuz i love the jayhawks and that was an amazzzzzing shot, but he gambles too much on defense and he still needs to work on doing more than turning the ball over and jacking 3s.
Cook… is a one-dimensional scorer… He’s decent, at best.

Knicksboy34ParticipantDivorce or make up Sex
most creative post ever.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/25/2009 - 7:52pm #190395
MattissickParticipantOdom isn’t known for his brains but Miami is a much nicer city than LA. I’m sure 5 million a year will be enough to survive.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/26/2009 - 8:55am #190548
BosteritoParticipantLook at all the Wade tweets, he really wants Odomn to comeback. Hes basically on his knees. I think if they get him they keep Wade.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/26/2009 - 8:58am #190554

Knicksboy34ParticipantYea, if Wade wants Odom…you do it!
0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/28/2009 - 7:06am #191789
FutureoftheGameYall were talkin about helpin Wade. They are trying to get Tinsley. IDK if he will be a big help but he is a proven player. He could probably start over Chalmers. That would make the very deep.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/28/2009 - 7:14am #191793
McWinningParticipantif the Heat can get that would really help them.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/28/2009 - 7:29am #191807
