 The Lord works in mysterious ways but man, I cannot even imagine how Oden has to be feeling. Young guy with such a good passion for the game and an enormous amount of potential to be "IT" aka the next big thing as a center in the league.

I always question myself whenever I never get a chance (in other aspects of life) but for Greg Oden, this has to make him wonder, "Why me, God?"  … Yes he has a couple of millions of dollars on the side but he genuwinely seemed like a good guy who probably never thought his career would end up in this manner. Poor guy, I’m still hoping for the best.

 I agree, Oden was on track to become one of the best Bigs to ever play the game, now people want to throw salt in his name because of his injuries, Durant was a beast at Texas, and either selection would have been a good one, but don’t sit there and act like Oden was a scrub, because he wasn’t.

Oh no, I really want to see him heahlthy and prove everyone wrong once and far all, but even if he does comeback, remember, it’ll be three whole years off of his development time. I hope he gets it all right, and he still has a chance to be a more than solid big IF(and that’s a huge if) he can stay healthy. We can only wonder what could have been.

It sucks that Greg Oden can’t play a full season, but the "Why me, God?" description is going a little over board. The guy got a full ride scholarship to play basketball at a great school and got drafted #1 overall while signing a near 20 million dollar contract. There are billions of other people in the world going through harder times than Greg Oden so I’m not sure why this is a "Why me, God?" moment.

Definitely feel bad for the guy, was my favorite player for a while. People should remember he was selected #1 for a reason, he was a game-changing center and there aren’t that many around these days. There’s Dwight and then throw Bynum into that category once he’s healthy. 

If Oden were playing and healthy I have no doubt we’d be having debates as to whether him or Dwight would be the best center in the game right now, Oden had great moves inside and changed shots and blocked shots defensively while playing great D. Sad to see injuries ruin his to career, at least to this point.

I know he has millions and there is so many more bigger problems in the world but honestly, I just hate seeing him suffer through these injuries. NO one can describe how he is feeling except for Greg Oden. I tried to put myself in his situation and honestly, "Why me, God?" would be the first words coming outta my mouth. That’s just me. I dunno, it was just a hypothetical lol. But overall, I think everyone feels ginuwinely bad for the guy.

Money doesn’t make you happy in the long-term. Scientifically conducted studies have shown that increased wealth isn’t significantly correlated with a permanent increase in happiness/satisfaction with life. It’s in the nature of people to adjust to our surroundings quickly, meaning we are never really satisfied, because we are always comparing ourselves to those who have more than we do.

So to say that his suffering is irrelevant because he has more money than most people in the world will ever see is ridiculous. Basketball is his passion, his life, and his body is repeatedly failing him, preventing him from taking control of his own legacy. Hearing people talk about how he’s a bust and Portland should have taken Durant would only make it worse, because he would know he’s letting down the fans and the organisation that’s stood by him, on top of his frustration from his personal failures.Yes, it’s a different sort of problem from those suffering from poverty or who are homeless, but for Greg it’s every bit as ha

Think beyond the material aspect and try to empathise with how you’d feel if  you were Greg. As someone who has battled injuries all my life and found it hard to deal with at times, Greg’s situation is more than enough to warrant a "Why me, God?" response in my opinion.

Im really starting to think theres something wrong with the blazers training staff, theyre was rumors that Oden gained too much muscle too fast and caused a muslce imbalance which affects his knees. Some Question has to be raised if this was the case, i mean it would be their job to make sure that doesnt happen(muscle imbalance). Its time to move on for the blazers and Oden…hopefully a team takes a chance of him one last time to try to get him back to full strength and see if he can atleast play….thinking the suns since they seem to have magical powers in healing injured players Hill,Redd,Shaq,Nash seems young, that or maybe yoga can help him haha(several players said it helps avoid injuries)

 I don’t buy the whole "Oden was a slam dunk over Durant". Someone presented Oden’s collegiate statistics, yes they are impressive. But he already had injury concerns in college. And he wasn’t entirely dominant either. Kevin Durant was averaging 26, 11, and 2 blocks in college. He was DOMINANT. He was a sure fire star. Saying things like " If Oden didn’t get hurt, he would have been one of the best big men of all time" is absurd. I know he was the concensus number 1, and I’m not condemning Portland for taking him, but I do believe there were GMs out there that saw Durant as the better player. It’s sad we’ll probably never get to see him actually play healthy, but at the end of the day Durant was always a safer pick.

 Another micro fracture surgery on the same knee? Damn man… What are they doing to this guy in Portland? They’ve done a sh*tty job with his injuries and one day Oden will talk about it.

I hate people who make fun of the situation, etc, etc. Coming back from micro is depressing within itself. He’ll be on crutches for months. The rehab/PT brings tears to your eyes it hurts so bad. I just feel for him because it’s not easy. 

Says a lot about him that he keeps fighting through this and trying to play. I’m sure his spirit is damn near broken right now though. Micro… I’m sure he cried when he heard those words.

 I don’t think they’ve managed his rehab, etc right. One injury has led to another. 

Like its already well known that the team doctors misdiagnosed a small hairline fracture in his kneecap… That led to it being broken. Then in that same knee, he ended up mysteriously needed micro after his knee just swelled up during rehab. I think the device in his knee for the broken patella did the damage.

I just don’t think they’ve done right with his body. Mike Conley Sr is no dummy… I have no clue why they haven’t gotten outside advice. 

I mean, these are the same team doctor’s who thought it’d be okay to let Roy play only a few weeks after surgery for a torn meniscus. Now, Roy is retired because of no menisus in either knee. Surprised? The same team doctors who were in charge of Darius Miles’ knees, which also were destroyed due to micro.

I really hope he recovers. I’ve always been a big fan and with his physical attributes I know he can contribute to any team willing to give him a chance. I have to wonder tho, what is the story with portland and knees?! They really need to evaluate their training and exercise methods cause there staff is missing something here.

Oden having season ending surgery, shouldn’t have been taken before Durant, he could have been one of the best in the league, Portlands medical staff suck, Send him to Phoenix they do wonders for injuries, it’s just like Sam Bowie all over again. It’s all stuff that’s been said before…Are you sure it wasn’t groundhog day yesterday?
