"The Detroit Pistons on Monday traded Arron Afflalo, Walter Sharpe and cash considerations to the Denver Nuggets for a future second-round pick."
"The deal clears nearly $2 million extra in salary-cap space for the Pistons to search for a free-agent big man. After the recent signings of Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva, Detroit will have an estimated $3.5 million in cap space after completing this deal."
Who are the Pistons targeting? $3.5 likely won’t be enough for Glenn Davis, could they be after Drew Gooden, Mikki Moore or Rasho Nesterovic or is it someone else?

sheltwon3ParticipantDrew Gooden could come that cheap and I think Davis is stay in Boston. Davis is young and Wallace should not take much of his minutes. Davis could still get like 20 minutes because Wallace and Garnett will need to make it to the playoffs. Also Leon Powe is not there.

doubledribblerParticipant…would go to the Pistons. I think he would rather stay in Boston. Don’t be surprised if he maybe signs a 1 year deal and then tries to test free agency next year. Boston would love to have him back, it’s just that they are tight on money right now. I think all of Boston’s bench players will get decent time because they are going to make sure the older guys stay healthy and fresh for the playoffs.
As far as Rasho, Gooden and Mikki Moore….I laugh. If that is who they are targeting they are going to have a rough year. I actually like Gooden, but not as my starting center. Rasho is an ok backup and Moore had one good year because he played with Jason Kidd.

the_truth34Participantwouldint he celtics are done this year maybe next year then back to crappy celtics detroit is good and is only going to get better, big baby going to detroit, celtics cant match that already in luxury tax

doubledribblerParticipantI didn’t think that he was restricted. Most second rounders aren’t.
Anyways, come on now. Would you rather win another ring or finish under .500 next year? Detroit is going to be horrible. Like I said in another post, Gordon and Stuckey are going to get destroyed on defense. What did Charlie V do his whole career? His best year was probably his first. They are going to get crushed on the boards, no matter if they sign big baby or not. Who are you guys starting at the 4 and 5? Charlie V and Maxiell? You have absolutely no bench. You will get pounded. Let’s see those guys against KG, Rasheed, and Kendrick inside. Those guys will make Shaq look like the Shaq of 10 years ago. It won’t be pretty….I see lots of layups in their future. What could have been a brilliant move by Joe Dumars to get cap space has turned into Ben Gordon and Charlie V. Ben Gordon is essentially a taller, slightly better shooting A.I. and we saw how that went last year. Charlie V is a slightly better shooting, much worse defensive version of Rasheed.
Detroit was the 8th seed last year and didn’t really improve much if any this year. Every other top team and playoff team got better except for maybe Miami and Chicago, but Miami should be helped by a better Beasley and Chicago by a healthy Deng and a year of coaching for Del Negro.

MattissickParticipantI hope Afflalo gets big minutes. He is a beast of a defender and if D Jones leaves, he could get those minutes.

bobbygillerDahntay Jones is already gone, he’s a Pacer. Afflalo should get some good minutes to contribute.

JNixonParticipantIve never really seen Afflalo, other than defense what does he do ?

the_truth34Participantceltics have no shot at winning now magic getting gortat to much competition for them and there done after this year detroit is going to be 6th seed because miami didnt get any better and d wade cant do everything and the bulls lost there leading scorer and clutch guy to detroit so detroit is going to be an elite team in 2 years boston after this year this is all you will be hearing that was a great run but time to rebuild for 3 to 4 years and big baby is still young he can win more championships
