JayRadParticipantI have heard a lot of talk about trading David Lee. As I look through the mocks I can’t help but think that Lee is already the player that most of these picks aspire to be. Why not package the number 8 with some bad salaries for cap space. This would allow them to keep Lee, LeBron is going to need players around him if NY realistically thinks they have a shot at him.

sheltwon3ParticipantThat is true but I think they believe they can get Amare and Lebron or another star type so that would make Lee expendable especially when they have Galinari.

knicksfreakParticipantUntil its done, its just talk. I still think we hold onto Lee. We were just speculating what if he is traded. Gallinari is a SF. How would he replace Lee?

NYKnicksuperFanParticipantThe Knicks would pull off a sign and trade, they do not want to tie up cap room but yeat they dont want to lett him go in free agency so they would probably pair him with a bad contract(Eddy Curry)

knicksfreakParticipantEither that or trade him for expiring contracts and draft picks. Check out the David Lee trade rumors thread

JayRadParticipantWhy trade him for expiring contracts or draft picks. Are you going to find anyone better at the price he will be asking. Try to get rid of anyone but your best player, which is exaxtly what he was for them last year. He is one of the few parts worth keeping, When was the last time a guy from NY led the league in double doubles? If you get rid of him you will automatically be in the market for a player exactly like him.

knicksfreakParticipantI dont think we should get rid of him but IF that is what Donnie Walsh intends to do to drop salary then we have to get something for him. Losing him will hurt us tremendously.

PringlesParticipantIf the money’s right then Lee will stay a Knick. Walsh will not overpay him and I’m confident about that.
