If Bron does sign with the heat, and with Wade and Bosh, does that team automatically become the favorites to win it all? Or, will the lack of a bench cause them to falter once come late may? I’m not even sure yet to be honest, what u guys think?

Bench isn’t particularly important in the NBA. The stars get most of the minutes and when on the court, most of the touches. If your stars are outplaying the other team’s stars, you will generally win a best of seven series. So yes, Miami becomes the favorite in the East. The Lakers can still counter because Kobi and Gasol are very very good and cover your two basic offensive needs on a basketball team (a wing player and a post scorer) about as well as Wade/Lebron/Bosh can.
Much more important than bench play, is how well the stars mesh. Wade and Lebron aren’t great playing off the ball and Bosh might want more touches than he would get.
But why speculate. Lebron is announcing his decision from Connecticut. That has me leaning toward him coming to New York. Maybe it is just wishful thinking, but him and Amar would be awesome to watch together.

Depends on how lebron, wade, and bosh fit together
All of these were the go to guys of their team
Now the question is, can they adjust to the setting
because in this team, each of them cant dominate the ball like they used too

^^ hell yeah, amare and bron would be great to see, it almost seems its like unfair to see 3 superstars good as they are to be on one team with james wade and bosh, but even if bron does sign with miami, im happy either way cuz it’s very rare to see 3 really good superstars to join forces aside from the ’08 celtics, we will see how many games r won by miami

i think no matter who signs with the team other than the three they still be favorites or at least made by the media. thanks to the lebron circus that was supposed to be the offseason there will be tremendous pressure on the team if they come all togehter…

Last year was Wade and a bunch of guys who arent worth more than the minimum. So add Bosh and Bron to the same thing, and you got yourselves the finals. Lakers vs. Heat, and depending on if the heat can get some kind of luck at center, they have a good shot.

Favorites doesn’t take it far enough. 72-10 or it will be a disappointment. Not kidding. I would not even be concerned about the fact that the names of the other twelve players on the roster won’t be known for some time.

The only concern is that those three along with Joe Johnson, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Elton Brand, Kirk Hinrich, Shane Battier, Antawn Jamison, and Brad Miller were coached by Krzyzewski and lost to a Greek team with zero NBA players. Small concern given that the NBA playoffs are a best-of-seven, but still.

I wouldn’t exactly call them favorites… If they don’t do better than the Celtics when Pierce, Allen, and KG were together their first year, then it should be a disappointment.

Like everyone else said, Wade, Bosh, and LeBron don’t exactly have the most compatible playstyles, so it’s not going to be as easy as it looks.

Assuming the Lakers and the Heat make the Finals next year, I’m sure that Kobe, Artest, and Gasol will be able to give Wade, Lebron, and Bosh a hard time. If the Heat don’t get a decent big, then I can already imagine all the boring talk about Bynum being an X-factor…
