ZouldiersParticipantCan you blame him though. Teams are so scared of his achilles injury that he said F.U to the league and sign with the justice league aka Golden State Warriors. RIP NBA. 1946-2018

BasterdInABasketParticipantCousins and Draymond, Stephenson and Lebron. NBA locker rooms and practices will officially be more entertaining than the actual games this year

BasterdInABasketParticipantPlus if any player can singlehandly dismantle a team and locker room, it’s Cousins(or Dwight)

SubZeroParticipantLeague Pass games are gonna be more entertaining than any Warriors game this year. This is dumb

halfdecayedParticipantI hope the ratings plummet to death. No reason for fans to watch next year. Literally

cohenbc1ParticipantI know I’m a nonconformist, but I kinda think they’ve screwed themselves.

The GoatParticipant75 wins and an undefeated postseason needs to be the goal.
Other teams just have themselves to blame really. Its an enormous win to get a guy to turn down 100+ million coming off a devastating injury. Well done GSW front office.

jjj10manParticipantAnd people still will say they are no the best team ever
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 3:20pm #1121320
properbreaksParticipantThis is exactly what happens when all of the soft pussies of the world patted Lebron on the back and said it’s all right to join with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. And it was just about this time 7 years ago. You could see this coming…..
Most people thought it was ridiculous, but the few who think it doesn’t matter what you do, encouraged it. So now other wierdos like Kevin Durant up the ante and do weirder and weirder shit; thus Boogie Cousins is practically playing for free by NBA standards for a team already with 4 all stars and 3 championships..
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 3:23pm #1121322
Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI have to wonder how much he will actually play next season and how much he will actually be able to help them. Remember, that this is just a one year deal. I know it seems drastic that the best team in the nba just got an all-star caliber center for virtually nothing. But you have to remember that the cousins they get next year won’t necessarily be the same cousins we saw in NO last year. Also, Golden states most effective lineups have always been when they go small, which you can’t really do with boogie on the floor. So let’s not act like the sky has fallen and hell has frozen over.
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 3:44pm #1121332
Kwame33ParticipantThat’s true, but assuming he provides even a part of his usual production any coach worth his salt could successfully work an all star caliber player into their lineup with little to no consequence.
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 4:15pm #1121347
Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantThere’s a reason he ended up signing this deal. He wasn’t highly coveted because teams were scared off by his injury. Golden state has the luxury of taking a chance on him that other teams don’t because they don’t really need him to win. But there are no guarantees he comes back even remotely healthy. Their isn’t much of a track record for nearly 7 foot 300 lbs recovering from complete Achilles tear.
0- Posted on: Tue, 07/03/2018 - 4:55am #1121405
Kwame33Participantthere’s no guarantees but if he comes back to even be a 12 and 6 guy, that’s a big if, this upcoming season is a wash. But it’s nice that you’re still looking on the bright side though.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 07/03/2018 - 5:10am #1121410
Kwame33Participantbasically, I get what you’re saying about his injury but I’m not sure that it’ll make him less effective than say, McGee or Zaza. Even just moderate production from him completely tips the scale that was already in their favor. Maybe I’m wrong on this one but I guess time will tell.
0- Posted on: Tue, 07/03/2018 - 7:37am #1121427
Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantLet’s be honest here. The warriors were going to be the overwhelming favorites anyway with or without cousins. Their biggest 2 challengers as of right now are the rockets and maybe Celtics and I’m not sure how effective cousins will be against either team because both prefer to play small and put behomoths like cousins in uncomfortable positions defending in space. We all know cousins was a lazy defender before the surgery and he’ll probably be worse now. Odds are he won’t be a huge factor in either series and golden state will continue to primarily use their regular small ball lineup. Also let’s remember that this is just a one year deal and there is absolutely zero chance they will be able to afford to resign with next year. So it’s not like this significantly alters the landscape of the nba for the next decade or so. All this does is take the team that was already the overwhelming favorites to win the title this year and make them slightly more overwhelming favorites.
0- Posted on: Tue, 07/03/2018 - 8:09am #1121429
Kwame33ParticipantYes. I agree. This was my point in this first place. The addition of Cousins takes them from predictable championships to so predictable I’m not even sure it’s worth watching.

marcusfizer21ParticipantThis right here is why I don’t feel like watching the league nowadays. The strong gets stronger, the weak gets weaker. It’s not fun to see superstars teaming up. I feel sad for smaller market teams. They seemed to be put in as farm teams where players develop and once they’re in a certain level, they leave and go to bigger markets.
Imagine Mo Bamba and Jaren Jackson Jr develop into all stars in the coming years, they’d go to the Lakers, Warriors or wherever the bright lights are.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/02/2018 - 5:30pm #1121366

BKGingerSnapParticipantThe Houston Rockets very nearly beat the warriors and do if Chris doesn’t get injured or they don’t go 0-27 in game 7 from 3. The rockets won 65 games last year. Losing Ariza is tough but Daryl is smart and will make moves for a guy. I still feel like warriors vs rockets is a toss up.
I admit that the Lakers moves so far other than LeBron have been perplexing but they still seem like the odds on favorite to get Kawhi. If the lakers are able to keep 2 out of 3 ingram, of lonzo, and kouzma, and get Kawhi, that will be absolutely dynamic.
Honestly the league is no different that it has been since 2000’s with the West having anywhere from 6 to 9 of the top 10 teams and atleast 80% of the top 50 talent.
Also, Boogie is far too talented to not atleast get back to 80% of his former self but I’m calling it right now that Boogie will be bad to very bad on defense for the rest of his career. Boogie will be an improvement on offense for the warriors but I’m pretty confident that he will slow the warriors pace when he’s on the and I’d much rather have Boogie shooting 3’s than Klay, Steph, or Durant.
