d-grizzlyParticipantthey both have garunteed contracts until the end of 2012 – 2013, and might i add so does kevin martin. but we’re not going to focuse on kevin in this discussion.
The frustration with beno from many kings blogs happens to be about beno last year. The fact that the kings gave him a huge contract, and then plays a poor season. I will give beno a lil slack because nat was not a good coach what-so-ever. He never stood up for his players. He never got in trouble for standing up against a bad call against his players. His system looked Sh!tty all year long.
Please do not hate on this thought, but in my opinion, I think nocioni would serve very well on the bench of an elite team, providing immediate points and veteranship. I don’t believe he should be on the kings and starting.A few ideas about what I think the kings should do.
*Trade nocioni or beno with Kenny thomas’s expiring contract. The kings should try to get a 1st round pick out of this. The next draft is loaded, and the kings need more young talent to surround their team. A move like this would allow Garcia and Casspi to grow and gell with the team properly. Plus, in my opinion, Garcia is a much better ball handler than nocioni and the offense has and can run through him. He is a good defender too.
*Trade beno and kenny thomas’s expiring contract. I’m more against the idea of trading beno because I think what held beno back last year was Nat. Beno sat on the bench because of nat. I think with westfall, he can provide good bench minutes and contribute to the team well. Also, if a move like this happen, Evans’ would grow much easier, and the kings could make sergio the 2nd string, and see how well he does. Once again, if the kings did this, I hope they would aim for a 1st round pick.
What are your thoughts about this? I’m very sure, other than evans and thompson, that everybody is practically on the trading block.

llperezNocioni and beno are both on the trading block. I don’t really blame beno for his poor season last year becuase honestly, that’s probably how good he is as a player. The Kings and Geoff Petrie screwed up by giving him a big contract in the first place, and i called it from the get go. he has always shown to be a backup in this league and the kings threw starter money at him, can’t get on Beno for that.

d-grizzlyParticipantdefinitly not worth the starter money, but is nocioni?
who would you rather package in a trade, assumingly you can only get rid of 1?

llperezNocioni said the second he got traded to the Kings that he didn’t want to be there. But I haven’t neard anything from him since, so either he changed his mind or he’s just staying out of the media. Personally, while I would like to have Nocioni’s toughness on a young team, if he does not want to be there, then ship him out. It doesn’t benefit the young guys to have a veteran with a poor attitude. Plus it’s not like the Kings are gonna be winning any time soon. Beno can be productive off the becnh if Sergio Rodriguez deosn’t beat him out for the back up minutes.

d-grizzlyParticipantAgreed about the kings situation and nocioni’s toughness and veteranship, but I still believe nocioni on an elite team, off the bench, would be a more proper situation for his lengthy contract.
I’m not sure if you’re high on garcia, or casspi even, but i would much rather like to see garcia and casspi take over the SF future. plus, you could get a 1st round pick much easier through nocioni, rather than beno.

llperezI like Garcia a lot. He is tough mided and can create off the dribble. I don’t know much about Casspi other then that he is also supposed to be a pretty tough competitor and can shoot it. Like I said, if Noc don’t want to be there then I’m sure the Kings would have no problem trading him to a team where he can compete. But that would mean the Kings would have to take bcak about 8 million in salary as well, and I’m not sure who the Kings would want to get. They seem pretty content on just building through the draft.

JNixonParticipantUdrih is what I think Ricky Rubio will be like. Sorry if you disagree, him or either his teammate Sergio Rodriguez.
Nocioni should be moved to a team like Boston. His defense, corner 3 point shooting, and toughness is a perfect match. They should trade Tony Allen for him I believe.

He’s overhyped and I expect to get negative 1 million points
for saying it but he is exactly like Beno Udrih
a 6’5 PG with no post up game or jump shot?anyone who gives me negative points obviously has a man crush on Ricky “Suave” Rubio
he got drafted into the National Basketball Association because he “looks” like Pistol Pete
that is incredible to me0

d-grizzlyParticipantthe kings to me have done well to compliment martin/garcia over the last 3 drafts. they brought in hawes, then thompson, then evans. They have not benefited through any trades, in my opinion. Giving brad and salmons away for nocioni didn’t help the kings win. and instead, they got a long contract out of it.
I think if the kings could trade nocioni for mike miller(wizards), it would benefit both sides. Mike miller has a 9 million expiring contract, and nocioni makes 7.5 million this year, and 6.8 million next year, which would provide enough time for the wizards to decide to keep or trade him. Another nice thing about this idea, mike miller doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make something happen. I notice nocioni can control the ball a little too long, and also when he shouldn’t.

KevinDurantRocksParticipantIf you don’t factor in his contract I would want him on any team. He needs to be played at Pf he causes so many mismatches there its were he is best

sheltwon3ParticipantIt will be interesting to see what moves transpire but a lot of those contracts will be hard to move and now Kenny Thomas contract is not so bad. Who would the Kings really get in return to make this all match up. Maybe they trade with New York for Curry and some pieces for Benu and Kenny thomas contract but I dont see many team that really need to make this move. At least not now. Most of the good teams are pretty stacked now and would not need to trade for either player and the things that are not stacked are looking to save money. I think they may be able to move Benu but Noccioni will have to remain a bench player unless GSW wants him and Stephen Jackson think the Kings can win which I doubt.
