The Scare Crow RisesParticipantAnybody else but me think Jay Wright is due for a National Championship?
I haven’t seen too many people pick the Cats to win it all, but Ill go out on a limb here and pick them to beat The Sooners in the Final 4, although Im looking forward to that defense trying to stop Buddy Hield
Im not sure if a Final 4 Run helps the Villanova program in the recruitment department but it would be nice to see them come out of this with a good recruitment class down the road…
Anyway, go Nova!!!

D7H7NParticipantBuddy is playing out of his mind, I can’t see them beating Oklahoma. Then you have an even bigger monster in UNC who has looked like the best team for the past 2-3 weeks. Paige looks like he’s back to his 2014 form.

TheGuyParticipantI’m just glad they won so we don’t get rematchmania in the final four. There’s already 2 all ACC elite eight games tomorrow promising another all ACC game in the final four (likely UNC-UVA). That’s my least favorite thing, seeing all these teams from the same conference play each other, give me some new matchup.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantVillanova just beat a Kansas team that was considered by many (including myself) to be the deepest and most balanced in the country. They have proven that they can beat anybody and I would say they have just as good of a chance to win it all as anybody left in the field. There is definitely a certain grit and toughness to this team that has been lacking over the past couple of seasons. I wouldn’t say would they necessarily be the favorites against Oklahoma (or UNC or Virginia if they get past them) but I wouldn’t call them underdogs either.

Memphis MadnessParticipantGood for Nova. Why can’t they recruit? Best team in Philly. Possibly the best team in the Northeast (depending on how Syracuse closes out the Tournament).
If they can win it all this would be their second title all time (also in ’85). So that would make them a minor power house historically (also getting to the Final Four in 2009 and I think one other time too). They can go on a really good 4 or 5 year run. Especially if Kentucky and/or Duke tick down a bit.

NBAjunkie81ParticipantJay Wright’s head after being bounced in either the 2nd or 3rd round by a lower seed in 5 out of the last 6 seasons……. Nova is a small school in a Phila Suburb …… It’s remarkable that Wright is able to keep Nova relevant when he does not have access to the "One & Done" future NBA prospects who flock to Basketball factories like Duke, Kentucky, North Caronlina & Kansas…..
2 Finals Fours in 7 years (2009 & 2016)……. & this year the team held the #1 Ranking in the Polls for the 1st time in school history…… Amazing achievements
And it’s no fluke, Nova came Very close to 2 other Final 4’s in 05′ when a blatant travel by North Carolina player was missed or possibly Ignored ( And then Outrageously defended by color analyst & Big School prostitute Billy Packer) in the waning seconds of of a heart breaking 1 point 67 – 66 loss to UNC in 05’…… & then again in 07′ when eventual 2 time NCAA Champion Florida knocked out Nova in the Final 8……
And they are a Fun team to watch…….. Wright has employed 3 & 4 guard line ups for close to 10 years now……. Long before it became the trend in the NBA……. Watching them feels a lot like watching a Golden State type squad on the College level……. They play phenomenal Defense but they Never slow the game down or resort to any type or garbage tactics…… Year after Year, Wright just puts a team on the floor that is superbly coached & prepared……
Imagine what Wright could do w/ the players Kentucky gets….. Hopefully the press & the public in the Phila area realize what a gem they have in Jay Wright at Nova…..

D7H7NParticipantMotion offense set play is very common at the college level, especially amongst schools that don’t have great individual talent. Of course once you get some good guard(s) it is very explosive (05 Illinois, 06 Nova, 08 Davidson, 10 Duke, etc.). You wanna talk about a team that looked like GSW today and should’ve won the championship, it was Illinois in 2005.

Demarcus OnealParticipantNova vs Oklahoma will be an awesome tilt. Essientially its gonna come down to a clash of Villanova’s tough gritty style and defense agaisnt the non-stop shooting of the Sooners.

TarHeelRavenParticipantJay Wright is a great coach. He doesn’t get the top ten guys, but he consistently wins at Nova. The game against Oklahoma will be great and we’ll see what Jay comes up with to stop Buddy Hield who was unconscious against Oregon. Also a shout out to Jay Wright for being one of, if not the best dressed coach in college basketball.

BiggysmallsParticipantJay Wright is alright. Nova has been a quality team since they went to the Final 4 back when they had Foye, Ray, Lowry and kind of pioneered the "4 out 1 in" style of play.
That said, they get plenty of good recruits. They don’t get a lot of "1 and done’s" but they reel in plenty of high-end talent. That’s probably more ideal anyways, having the group they’ve got now lends itself to consistency. They’ll always have guys readymade to step in and replace departed seniors.
Brunson was a 5-star guy, he’s been a nice player this year…he’ll blow up next year most likely running the team. Hart was in a similar situation…not a 5-star guy but they brought him along and now he’s a conference POY and really really good.
They’ve got a good model right now with the program recruiting solid 3 and 4 year guys who can contribute for 3+ years.
Don’t see them beating Oklahoma but hey, this tournament has been tough to predict at times so nothing should surprise.
