 How come the youngest MVP in history is beraly cutting everybodys top 10 players list?

I mean MVP is usily given to the best player of the year (not saying thats what the MVP is all about ) and he is not even making anyones top 5 list .

Besides CP3 no one is as good as him a pg and Rose is only gonna get better then he is right now and he led his team to the NBAs best record at only 22 but it seems like no one on here is showing that much love for D-Rose

I think he’s a great player and all but right now he’s just out of the top 5 for me as well. Last year was his breakthrough campaign, if he continues his high level of play over the next couple years and/or improves his defence the top 3 is certainly within his reach.

In my opinion, I feel his MVP season, though spectacular, was a bit overrated. Despite putting up great numbers, displaying his offensive prowess night in/night out and leading his team to the best record in the league (cough, coach tibbs, cough), he still has much to work on PG wise (passing/turnover ratio, better shot selection, knowing teammates hot spots, etc.). Once again, I am not saying he did not deserve the award, just that Lebron James, Dwyane Wade or Dirk Nowitzki (If he did not miss those 10 games) could’ve easily went away with the trophy as well.

 i can’t wait for him to develop a consistant 3 point shot. i feel if he does this his apg will definitely go up because he’ll have players running at him at the 3pt line then its all up to him with all the space he can make

Their was a point in the year when nobody could stop talking about him. He is one of my favorite players in the league, maybe in my Top 5 favorite. But, is he a top 5 player in the league right now? I think it is debatable, and I would probably have him on the outside looking in at this current point. I believe he will be a top 5 player in the league, and he deserved the acclaim he received and had a 1st Team All-NBA type season. Personally, I was incredibly happy for him being the MVP. Still, in the play-offs, he was kind of out shined by a couple dudes on Miami. Still, he is only 22. He will get better with time, and he is someone you probably choose top 5 if you are starting a fantasy draft in a video game, but that does not mean he is necessarily top 5 with everything considered.

But, again, "no one putting him in their top 5 list" is more than likely due to him probably not being a top 5 player. I would rank him just outside the top 5 at this point, and as I did my rankings based on where I think he might end up on that obnoxious NBArank thing, I think that could very well be where he gets ranked. To say he is getting "no love" though, is an incredible exaggeration. Even you have him behind Chris Paul, and I think it is reasonable to make a case for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard more than likely being ranked in front of Derrick. He may be in front of a few of them in the next few years, but I think he won the MVP and people give the guy mad props. To say he is getting "no love" makes "no sense". So, do not know where you wanted to go with this.

@It’s Dwight Howard, I think Dirk is a bit too low on your list. I would personally rank him at seven, ahead of Melo, D Will, and CP3.

IMO D-Rose is probably the most unaminously beloved player in the league.  Its probably between him and Durant.  He gets plenty of love and its that very infatuation people have with him that dropped him from my top 10 favorite players.  He gets so much love and attention that it started to sicken me.

1. Kobe Bryant(still has it slowed down a little but his impact is great 25-6-5)

2. LeHype James(lacks all around offensive scoring skillset but his impact on both sides is good, 26-9-8-2-1)

3. Carmelo Anthony(Only if he consistenly plays D, I’m expecting 29-9-4, 50-40-85 percentages(FG-3PT-FT)

4. Kevin Durant(not a better score than Melo in my book not a great defender and doesnt rebound enough for his size nonetheless he’s elite, 28 and 8)

5. Dwyane Wade(He will slow down this year plays hard like AI body will not hold up for long 22-6-6)

6. Dirk Nowitski(His game is well suited for his athleticsm which means he’ll continue to go hard 24-10)

7. Chris Paul(Finally healthy will take back his title as the Best PG in the League, 19-12-2.5stls, especially after his trade to the Knicks)

8. Derrick Rose(Reigning League MVP but with lack of help especially at the 2 teams will focus solely on D-Rose)

9. Dwight Howard(Why is Howard so low well because there is no one to compare him to, while he’s good he lacks true counterparts to play against its not his fault but Imagine him going up against 25yr old, Shaqs, Hakeems even KG’s and Duncan’s

10. Deron Williams(D-Will is the toughest match up for PG’s and SG’s he can go by them with his great speed back down small ones, he has the best pull up besides Stephen Curry and works the Pick N Roll almost as good as Steve Nash I see him as Chauncey Billups with athleticsm.)

Those are the 10 ELITE players in the NBA

I think Rose is higher on a "top 10 players to build a franchise with" list than a top 10 players as of now list.

D-Rose is an amazing player, but you got it the opposite. He gets too much love. Bulls got the best record because of defense, no one can deny that. Thibs is the main reason for that. And Rose isn’t even the best, or even SECOND BEST defender on his team (Deng, Noah). Nothing against him though, he’s destined for top 5 in the L someday.

For me, not because he’s not in a lot of people’s top 10 favorite players lis doesn’t mean we don’t acknowledge him. He’s a terrific player and all but, I guess he just doesn’t appeal that much to those who posted. (Maybe those who really love him just didn’t post) And, looking at the lists, a lot of notable players are missing or lacking in appearances as well. It’s more of personal and subjective choices rather than objective evaluations anyway.

@CharlieSheen, The numbers/percentages you have for Carmelo are ridiculous. He has never even come close to shooting 50% overall and 40% from the three point line. Also, Durant is a small forward and 6.8 rebounds per game from the small forward position is very respectable whether or not he is 6’11. And how does Lebron lack an "all-around offensive scoring skill-set?" He’s clearly one of the best and most versatile scorers in the league.

I think he is an awesome player and clearly the best Center in the league by a wide margin. He is a guy who you could potentially build around for a championship, with the right pieces. But, I do not know how one rates him ahead of a Dwyane Wade or Kobe Bryant, who I still feel are flat out better players at this point in time. 

Dwight was better than ever as an offensive player last season, but I am still hung up on the fact that he averages only 13.4 shots per game. To me, this statistic is obscene. I cannot believe a player as far in front of his position as Dwight is would be averaging this amount of shots. I even take into account that he shoots an incredibly high amount of FT’s.

For instance, Blake Griffin averaged 16.8 shots per game this past season. He averaged 22.5 points per game, shooting a lower percentage than Dwight from the field, and getting to the line 8.5 times per game as opposed to Dwight’s 11.7 (insane amount of trips to the line). I just want to use this as an example though, of the amount of shots per game Dwight Howard should be around. I think their is NO reason he should be getting less than 15 shots per game.

Dwight has averaged 11 shots per game over his career, 13.4 was the highest amount he has ever recorded. It is a step in the right direction, but I still feel it is far too low an amount for a player who could be a much more dominant offensive force. I see little reason Dwight should not be a more focal point of Orlando’s offense and be averaging 25 points per game. I think if he were, Orlando would be a much better team. A major issue is the amount of turnovers he piles up, he is close to tops in the league. He is definitely not Shaq or Hakeem, but he arguably has a wider range between the next best Center than either of them ever had during their career. He is physically dominant and a force in the post. 

I have a hard time believing that Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant are not guys who one might consider better than Dwight Howard at this point in time. I realize he is a dominant defender, more so than either Wade or Kobe. But, Wade and Kobe are light years ahead of him as offensive players and I think as team leaders. Dwight needs a team around him, and I even think that it would probably be better if he were not the primary offensive option. I would like to know why people feel that Dwight is better than these players as of right now. I have a hard time seeing it. I realize that the potentially two best players in basketball could not win a championship this year, but Dwight could not get his boys out of the first round. He did what he could, for the most part, but I for one am especially sceptical of Dwight being a guy you build a title around without either a perfectly constructed team or another major player next to him. Just would kind of like to know why people feel he would be the best player after LeBron at this point in time as opposed to Kobe or Wade.
