Who are some guys you feel like haven’t gotten a fair shot at showing what they can do in the leauge thus far in their careers?

    Two for me pop out.

    1.  Jimmer.  Hear me out on this one.  We all know he can flat out shoot and scorer, we know aobut his defensive limitations (which I believe are overblown).  In every game where he has gotten the minutes he has delivered.  I really think he could be a 13 ppg scorer with good efficiency if given the chance.

    2.  Brandan Wright.  This guy is always near the top of the league in efficiency, he provides us with jaw dropping displays of athleticism.  Has a freakish wingspan and his touch has improved.  He is stuck behind one of the GOAT at the 4 and a reliable starter at the 5.  I think he would give a solid 15+8 with a consistent 30 minutes a game.

    Who are yours?

The nuggs gave Randolph every chance to play last year, they even started him for the first part of the year. Its not gonna happen with him

Ed Davis.  Stuck behind Gasol and Randolph.

Now he is likely to be stuck behind Randle and Boozer

Never has gotten a fair chance. I always thought he was screwed by Sacremento drafting him. Perry Jones is suffering the same right now IMO too. No minutes or oppurtunity for a guy who can definately put up numbers if given a chance to play extended minutes on the right squad.

Jeremy Lamb is just slightly better off. Lamb got some minutes early in the year, but then got relegated to the bench when Caron Butler was added. I thought Lamb would see a bump in minutes this year with Thabo Sefolosha leaving, but then the Thunder signed Anthony Morrow so Lamb will likely find himself playing about 10-15 minutes per game when he gets in the game like the end of last year.

Adam Morrison after the injury. Lakers were too deep during the championship years, and he was tearing up the summer league a couple years ago, he could just never get consistent minutes after his rookie season.

I really felt if Darko was given a consistent set of minutes as a rookie he may have developed into something better. But Larry Brown always was known for not playing rookies, especially when the Pistons were a championship contending team.

MarShon might be going to an overseas league.

The good, he might get 30 points a game.

The bad, few will get to see his games.

in Marshon’s rookie season he had around 29 minutes per game he only averaged 12 points for the nets but I could understand why he already had other scorers on the team that would take his touches away but he did have occasional good games and he didn’t really play much defense… but he still does at least deserve one more chance all in all

I know he isnt in the leauge anymore, but I honestly felt he couldve been an all-star given minutes and touches. Playing behind Brandon Roy obviously helped him, but its also a sad story that the guy complaining for minutes lost out to a player who retired at 29 after being an all-star 4 years ago for 3 consecutive seasons. Also injuries played a part.

Most def, Aaron brooks was a monster on that Rockets team that took the 2009 Lakers to 7 games. I remember as a Laker fan, I used to fear Brooks cuz he could get anywhere on the court and he would pull up from anywhere. I really thought he was going to blow up after that series, but nope.

I’m not sure about Selby though, I saw him struggle and fail to stand out in the summer league, and I really wasn’t impressed with his game.

    Chris Singleton.

still hoping someone takes a chance on him, too good of a defender to be wasted. id like any would be contender to consider him for rotational depth for the play-offs.

Bayless. Never got a chance to be a starter at PG now stuck with the label as a combo or undersized 2.

There was a stretch in Toronto when Calderon went down that Bayless was absolutely balling, averaging great numbers as the starter and winning games, but he suffered an abdomen injury a little while later and hasn’t really been given an opportunity since.

I feel like if he had been with the Celtics the whole season he could have blown up in Rondo’s absence.

Real high character guy and good defender, sucks that he never got a fair shot.

Also yes, Jeremy Lamb is an obvious example of someone who should be starting.

Harrison Barnes is another guy who was robbed of his chance when Iggy got signed.

He did really well in the playoffs for Golden State but was then buried on the bench because management wanted to overpay a player who didn’t really fit their starting unit.

    Also Meyers Leonard.

although i agree that harrison barnes’s chance got much less when we signed iggy, i would disagree on the note that he doesnt fit our starting line-up. with a unit of 3 primary scorers as well as a play-making 2 guard as our point, iguodala’s fit both on offense and defense has been well utilized.

and its not like barnes dint get his shot completly. it was either him or klay, and im not complaining that klay won out because he earned it and has played really well for us. barnes was just out performed in training camp. kinda reminded me of the summer milwaukee had both desmond mason and michaell redd and dint know which was their starting 2 guard. i just hope barnes wont fade the way mason did.

Jan Vesely. John Wall even said he liked playing with him on the court but the Wizards buried him on the bench. I don’t get how you use a # 6 pick on a guy with that size and athleticism and waste him like that

*Tony Wroten—I know he was given a chance this season but with 30 + minutes he could give you at least 20 points some good rebounds and also a good 4 assists he need a starting line up starting this season he is reliable and has proven it in the chances he was given.

*Michael Beasley—- He needs another season to start his run in Miami this season on the bench was pretty productive scoring wise at least. Just like Wroten he is a 20 point scorer waiting to show his mark I believe he has an elite level no joke. If he was in the same position his ex AAU teammate Kevin Durant was in he could do just as well as KD can. He put up good numbers when he started in Minnesota But they only started him for one season.

Joe Alexander – Drafted by the Bucks to be their starting SF and possibly the future of their team. Then, the Bucks go and trade for Richard Jefferson for some reason and let him run the show.. Joe ended up injured at practice which cost him most of his rookie year. Couldn’t find a spot in roster his second year, and because he highest draft pick to have his option declined.. He had all the tools. Strong build, 6’8, 38 inch vert, loved to dunk on people, great range on his jumper.. Just couldn’t put it all together..

Salim Stoudamire – One of the most exciting college players I have ever seen. Scoring PG in a league that wasn’t ready for him.. He was great off the dribble and could spot up. Really nice in he Pick and Roll too.

I often wonder if the Sonics would have drafted Bayless instead of Westbrook, would Bayless be an All-Star…  He was often sent to the bench when he had turnovers and was never able to play through mistakes…   Westbrook led the league in turnovers his first couple of seasons and had a green light to do whatever he wanted…  I feel like Bayless needed that…

Bassy…  2 situations, that he actually discussed recently…  The first one is the Blazers again…  Cheeks was on his way out and wouldn’t play him, then Nate would do what he did to Bayless…  Then he was traded to the Celtics, if the Celtics shipped off Rondo instead of Bassy, he would’ve been the starting PG and probably been an all-star…

B-Easy…  Being called immature before even playing in the NBA is a problem…  The media and the Heat went over board and in my opinion destroyed his career before it even started…  They had him on a short leash as soon as he arrived and Spo kept him on the bench if he had a lapse in judgement…   I’m not saying he didn’t contribute to that, all I’m saying is they gave him that treatment before he even did anything to warrant that… And he was the #2 pick and arguably (at the time the #1)  Mario Chalmers was with him too and didn’t get canned like that…  A LOT of NBA players smoke weed so it’s not uncommon…  They pawned him off for a second round pick and he averaged 20 points…  It’s no doubt that he would be an All-Star right now if he would’ve went to a team that made him the first option…
