Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantNets about to get Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry while being able to keep Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez. WOW! That’s a lot more than I expected.
They’ll definitely beat the Heat and maybe be favorites with that team.
Hearing they’ll give up 3 first rounders, Reggie Evans, Gerald Wallace and maybe a sign and trade of Keith Bogans
Jason Kidd has Laurence Frank and he could possibly win a title his rookie year of coaching.

Professor RozayParticipantI would love to see how J Kidd coaches those guys. But I don’t think that this deal is going to happen….

Professor RozayParticipantThe reason I’m saying that this deal does not happen is because of Wallace contract. You think a team that is rebuilding wants to take that contract on?

HotSnotParticipantI hope the Nets enjoy half court basketball with that starting 5 because there’s no way they could push the ball against an athletic team all game. I confident there’s going to be many low scoring games in NJ.
I’m also concerned about a future rebuild…3 years from now when Pierce Garnett and Johnson have aged out… the Nets have no 1st round picks because King has traded them all the last few years. 2 in the Deron trade, 1 for Wallace and now 3 more for this trade. A rebuild is going to be a B$%ch. Its the Lakers all over again… but without Howard as a potential starting point (if he resigns).

ItsRainingNegsParticipantI think this trade would be, for now, the step into making Brooklyn a tile contender if Pierce would be willing to play corner 3 specialist. He’s lost all of his athleticism.

B-ball fanParticipantLet us not get carried away. That team won’t “definitely beat the Heat.” Garnett is a huge addition and should help shore up their defense, but I am not sure how well Williams, Terry, Johnson, and Pierce complement each other. They should definitely be a contender, but we have to wait to see how they gel and stay healthy before they can be anointed favorites.
Collecting talent is great, but there is only one ball. Having too many scorers can sometimes hurt a team’s offense. Now, most of their players can play off-the-ball well, but that doesn’t guarantee they will immediately blossom into an elite two-way team, like the Heat, Thunder, or Spurs.

Professor RozayParticipantI guess I was wrong…this deal is starting to look like it is really about to go down…
