Tha King2121ParticipantFigures…Anyone think his numbers will be better then Anthony Davis?
0- Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:18pm #658090
CoolidgerParticipantHighly doubt it. They may be similar defensively, but offensively Anthony Davis is much better. Nerlens Noel is still pretty raw on that end of the floor.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantHe saw what Ant did and he will try the same.. good choice.. cant blame him, but who will be the scorer on that team next year??? Ry? idk

HaleParticipantIt was too perfect for him to pass him. Davis leaves and he’s the perfect guy to fill in at C. I knew he’d go to UK.

What The DevilParticipantThey go from Davis to Noel…Calipari is a boss
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 2:55pm #658074

Wahoo757ParticipantAlright, 2 for 2 in my predictions. I think Kentucky is his best choice for a one and done scenario, but given the Hoyas success with Big Men throughout history and even recently with Roy Hibbert and Greg Monore I think he should have goon there. If Nerlens Noel would have been willing to stay for two years (like Monroe) that would be the best long-term scenario, so he could develop his post game and offensive feel.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 2:56pm #658068

HaleParticipantI’m guessing he’ll be somewhere in the 10 ppg 8 rpg 4 bpg range.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 2:57pm #658077

scbe2223ParticipantI think UK may legitimately start 5 freshmen next year depending on if anyone returns from this years team of course. Will definitely be the youngest team in the nation.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 2:57pm #658070

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantTheir projected starting line-up:
C – Nerlens Noel
PF – Kyle Wiltjer (Maybe Anthony Bennett)
SF – Alex Poythress
SG – Archie Goodwin
PG – Willie Cauley
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:00pm #658072

delfamParticipant^ Cauley is a center, Harrow will start at PG

delfamParticipant^ what freshman at PG?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:05pm #658079

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipanta guy with your similar skill set is being called Bill F-ing Russell. Besides Wiltjer is a great shooter but liability on defense, so his weak side shot blocks will be much needed. Teague will have to be better at breaking guys down for him to get a lot of drive dish and dunks, though.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:05pm #658080
DurantsWingspanCauley will be the backup center, def not a PG. But when you ask who will be the scorer next year, it is an easy question. Harrow is a great scoring PG and Archie Goodwin also is a great Scorer who will probably play the 1,2, and 3 next year. Poythress is a BIG TIME scorer, I have seen him have many dominate games this year. He is my prediction for their leading scorer next year. Watch out Shabazz, we’re coming for you@!!!!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:16pm #658085

Bmore_DCParticipant@scbe…
Wiltjer is a lock to start next year…so maybe 4 fresh and a soph
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:16pm #658086

uknationParticipantThey won’t start 5 freshmen. Harrow will surprise a lot of people with his new under controlled game but still having the ability to get buckets. I was surprised as hell after hearing so many people say it was G’Town. Now they will either get Bennett (likely) Orihaki ( heard that’s looking good) and/or Amile ( not sure about this one)
Kyle will be a better defender next season as well as stronger. Anyone who has seen him before coming to UK knows how good he is.

WizardofOzParticipantI was hoping he’d go to G-Town. They’re the best school for developing bigs. Yes Coach Cal does a great job of getting players to the NBA, but he’s not the kind of coach that will improve your skill. He’s a coach that will hide your weaknesses like he was trying to do with Anthony Davis for the first half of the year.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:29pm #658094

providencefriars1ParticipantI think this is the rotation roughly as of now
PG Ryan Harrow 35, Twany Beckham 5
SG Archie Goodwin 35, Jon Hood 5
SF Alex Poythress 30, Jon Hood 10
PF Kyle Wiltjer 30, Alex Poythress 5, Willie Cauley 5
C Nerlens Noel 35, Willie Cauley 5

WizardofOzParticipantDavis was definitely a much better player than Noel at the same stage. Noel’s IQ is still spotty.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:32pm #658099
Stevenive seen nerlen twice, live. he is damn athletic. he can run the floor well too just like Ant Davis. BUT his offense isnt even close to Ant Davis. Nor is his defense in my opinion. Davis has the blocks record. Nerlens wont even come close IMO.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:35pm #658100

UNCbasketballbumParticipantKentucky will not be anywhere as good as they were last year Thay had one a kind chemistry with MKG and Anthony Davis. The talent on that team next year will be nowhere near the talent that had this year.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:40pm #658101
Steveni agree, not even close.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:50pm #658105

HaleParticipantTo be honest, I’m more intrigued by Poythress then Noel. Noel isn’t even close to the #1 player in the Nation imo. He’s just a really high upside guy. It’s been said already but he’s not close to Davis, especially on offense.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 3:57pm #658109

Charlie SheenParticipantI think AP can be similar to Rudy Gay if he continues to develop that jumper and attack game, great size and athleticism, he’s gonna be a MONSTER
Archie Goodwin too, he’s 6’5 I think he can be similar to Eric Gordon if he gets more range on his shot, he’s a big time scorer and is definitely gonna thrive in the dribble drive
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 4:37pm #658115

HaleParticipantI think Noel might be the 4th or 5th leading scorer on this team. Poythress is my prediction to lead it, Goodwin is a heck of a scorer too like you said, and Wiltjer or Harrow could easily score more then Noel as well.

OhCanada-ParticipantAnybody else think Kentucky may have a bit of a rough season next year?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/11/2012 - 5:56pm #658156

scbe2223ParticipantGood Call on Harrow delfam. I forgot about him. I still say Wiltjer won’t start unless he absolutely has to. I think UK gets Anthony Bennett and/or Alex Oriakhi as well so I’ll assume one of them starts. Without Bennett or Oriakhi, that 4 spot looks rough.
PG: Harrow
SG: Goodwin
SF: Poythress
PF: Bennett
C: Noel
I watched almost every UK game this year considering i’m a student here and Wiltjer hasn’t shown me that he can defend at all. He has no lateral quickness and virtually no post game. Unless he improves dramatically he isn’t starting.

jaysmith1987ParticipantThis is big Noel will be good but not Ant davis good. Hes like the brandon knight to john wall. Either way the team next year will be scary. They have a legitimate back up center in cauley and to potential big scorers in poythress and goodwin along with wiltcher who i think is severly underated. As long as calipari can get Ryan harrow to be a decent pg. This team very well could repeat.

If you’re talking about Noel, then if grades were an issue he would of never been able to reclassify to 2012.
