 I read  from SI that Austin Rivers has strong connects with the NO organization and may have received a promise with them. That’s why I have him 10th in my mock.

Im sitting here doing my mock and I’ve stopped at New Orleans for the 10th pick. It seems Kendall Marshall has fallen, and I have Damian Lillard already off the board. I’ve just read an article and said that they worked out Jared Sullinger and Perry Jones, guys who play the same position as Davis. They’ve also worked out guards like Austin Rivers and Jeremy Lamb, who play the same position as Eric Gordon and Xavier Henry. I’ve just also read on RealGM that they’re not going to trade the pick so who do you guys have them taking? BPA? or going with Marshall?

With Davis as the face of your franchise, it might be wise to have someone he is comfortable playing with.  I know Emeka is there but, if I’m NO I reach a little, if it is a reach, for his former teammate Jones.  Jones is also a solid defender and shot blocker which Monty Williams loves, and it provides a certain level of consistency for AD.  If not, I’d trade back and take Teague to back up Jack, or Doron Lamb.  If they have a 2nd rounder they could always take Darius Miller.

 

The only reason I think this might be important is that as I watched Demarcus Cousins last year, it took him a while to get comfortable.  Once he did he took off.  This might speed up the process a little bit for Davis.

 Okafor is not there anymore…traded.  So I think N.O. goes big with this pick.  Maybe Moultrie or PJIII.  Also still a good chance this pick gets traded.

I think they will suprise some people at take Zeller at #10. His game will fits very well with Davis.

 i got if they dont trade the pick no taking rivers coach monty is a very close personal friend of doc rivers and adding rivers has the sg of the future in case they cant keep eg now if they know eg will stay then i agree with taking zeller his game fits well with davis
