I recognize the sampling size is pretty small at this point with only Jennings and Tyler as recent representative samples but do you think elite prospects with NBA potential are better served by going to Europe and getting paid handsomely rather than participating in the current American youth basketball structure where the best are one and done without compensation?

I still think its best to go to college
jennings i truly believe was a special case, and i know because jeremy tyler is apparently having a horrible time
Kids should go to college, play basketball infront of their friends and family and most importantly get an education, thats the main reason i would go to college, imagine if brandon blew out his knee and couldnt play basketball again

i think most will continue to go to college. It is the best way to showcase your skills. And if you are an nba player, then you only have to wait one year to get paid the big bucks. If you go to europe, you might get that immediate money, but you also might cost yourself by not getting playing time and sitting over on a bench overseas agiainst men.

    sample size is not small

Euroleague is vastly superior to the NCAA in terms of talent, I mean some of the Euroleague guys were the best of the best in the NCAA

college is an opportunity for a person with a low basketball IQ to improve it and thus improve chances for the NBA

Kobe Bryant, Garnett, Jermaine O’Neal, all prep to pros, all have good IQs

Moses Malone played point guard from prep to pros

the higher the competition level the Faster u will develop,

NCAA is being glorified esp in terms of producing legitimate pro prospects NOWADAYS

the mid-range shot will only take u so far even for a HOF prospect see Dwyane Wade

NCAA is based off of ability to hit the three point shot, see JJ Reddick
NCAA is a showcase for good rebounders, see Luke Walton lol
NCAA is a showcase for dribble drive

NCAA is NOT a showcase for athletic slash-first, shoot second players
    see Andre Iguodala, Michael Jordan

Blew out his knee he would be a rich man because he went to europe. WHAT part of that do you not get? If he went to college and blew out his knee would he be rich? Hell to the no. If he blew it out last year he would be rich. Stop talking non sense. College is not a bad bet, but it is not always the smartest bet either. Yeah go make this school and the NCAA billions while you get nothing is always the right decision. Stop it with that. Why do you get a education? To earn more money.

did mj get player of the year in the ncaa?…europe will be a option just like the nba was…for som eit will work for others it wont..its not for everyone just like the jump to the nba from highschool. cant really throw tyler in the equation yet because he would technically be a sr right now and we dont know if it has helped or hurt him untill he plays in the nba
