lalailaParticipantSome interesting questions..just yes or no
Can someone steal #1 spot in the draft from Wall? (Mine: No)
Evan Turner 20+/10+/5+ for all this season. (maybe no)
Willie Warren – the best scorer in the draft? (Yes)
Xavier Henry 3rd freshmen in the draft? (Yes, until Renardo isn’t playing)
Ed Davis in top5? (Yes)
Derrick Favors to avg 20/10 this season? (could be close but because of Gani i think: no.)
Can Aminu be top3 pick? (it’s close but: no)

lalailaParticipanti’m talking about pushing Wall from #1 spot until draft lottery, when you are looking just at player’s talent
BTW you missed one lol

gatorheelsParticipantWill someone jump ahead of Wall before the draft lottery? NO, he has too much talent
Evan Turner 20/10/5… NO, teams in the Big 10 play solid defense for the most part. Teams will learn if they shut down Turner than they have a great shot to beat Ohio St. He will have a good year but not like that.
Willie Warren best scorer in the draft? NO, I’m not sure who is better though..haha
Xavier Henry 3rd Freshman drafted? NO, I think some other guys have higher upside & will get picked ahead of him.
Ed Davis top 5? YES, too much size/length/potential. I like his game actually.
Favors avg 20/10 this season? NO, he will have trouble scoring that many points consistently in the ACC
Aminu top 3? NO More like top 15. He doesn’t shoot well enough from long range which limits his value as a SF.

RUDEBOYEvery year..So called experts tag a certain guy as the preseason number 1 pick..but by season end someone steps up their game..Remember Beasley was touted as the 1st pick..But Rose turned it up in the tournament..There aren’t many guys that have that superstar status as Walls does..To me the only person that’ll challenge him to be chosen number overall is his teammate Cousins…He does alot of things scout love…Plus he has great potential……Some say he needs to expand his range & play better defense…But great players work on their weaknesses

lalailaParticipantwow..in other topic I gave some love to Cousins, but chances to be top pick, nahhh
0 - Posted on: Tue, 12/01/2009 - 7:41am #234725
quincey hodgesyeah i dont even see cousins as a top 3 pick. thats just me though…he will ahve to prove he can play well or dominate good big men first. once that happenes then maybe. as far as knocking wall from the number one spot..i think it can happen if a certain team gets the number one pick. i dont see minnie or the bucks drafting him if they get the top pick or the jazz. im actually higher on henry then most ( wasnt as high in the beginning) and its not that he dominates against bad talet but the way he does what he does. alot of his moves are nba moves as well as his jumper. i say yes to everything except aminu being top 3 and favors averaging 20/10

lalailaParticipantSo you see Ed as top5? I thought you don’t.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 12/01/2009 - 8:18am #234732
quincey hodgesyeah i can see him..i dont think hes one of the 5 best players but he’s young and most teams want a big guy

NorthernLights666ParticipantCan someone steal #1 spot in the draft from Wall? No, but if the Knicks get the #1 spot I think the Jazz will also look at Favors, I’m not sure Jerry Sloan would want Deron and Wall starting in the same backcourt, better backcourt than Stockton/Hornacek?
Evan Turner 20+/10+/5+ for all this season. No, but 17, 8, and 5 is definitely a possibility
Willie Warren – the best scorer in the draft? Yes, but I’m starting to think Wes Johnson might be up there too.
Xavier Henry 3rd freshmen in the draft? Yes, who else?
Ed Davis in top5? No, depends on team needs, not a top five prospect.
Derrick Favors to avg 20/10 this season? No, more like 15 and 9.
Can Aminu be top3 pick? Yes, as long as he continues to show that he has consistent range, besides this last game where he went 0 for 7 from 3 he’s looked like he’s going to be able to hit shots consistently.

RICO 1981ParticipantCan someone steal #1 spot in the draft from Wall? Yes, i think derrick Favors could push Wall for the number one spot. depends on team needs.
Evan Turner 20+/10+/5+ for all this season. No, he has talent, but I don’t think he can go a whole season with that avg.
Willie Warren – the best scorer in the draft? Nope, Wes Johnson for the Orangeman is the best.
Xavier Henry 3rd freshmen in the draft? ??? I guess by default, unless someone wants a big man, then it could be Cousins.
Ed Davis in top5? (Not right now,so I say no
Derrick Favors to avg 20/10 this season? No, who was the last College player to Avg that?
Can Aminu be top3 pick? Yup, he is long and talented enough to be the three pick in this weak draft.

lalailaParticipantactually Blake did it last year with around 23/14 Beasley a year before 26/12 Durant like 25/11 in 2007.
I why more and more people saying this draft is weak???

NorthernLights666ParticipantRenardo Sidney=Derrick Caracter, hey if Caracter can go to UTEP after missing a year maybe Sidney will go to Canisius in two years!!!

quincey hodgesyeah but there are no blakes, beasley or durants out there this year. and sydney doesnt have the same problems as caracter. sydneys has to do with his dad while caracter was about himself

JNixonParticipantCan someone steal #1 spot in the draft from Wall? I think so….very few teams in the lottery need a PG. So yes, it’s definitely possible
Evan Turner 20+/10+/5+ for all this season. No, if he does, it would have to be considered one of the single best overall seasons in college history.
Willie Warren – the best scorer in the draft? Yes, I think he’s a better scorer than Wesley Johnson….
Xavier Henry 3rd freshmen in the draft? Renardo Sidney will have a better season and prove to be 3rd best.
Ed Davis in top5? No. I hope not. If so, whoever picks him will be disappointed.
Derrick Favors to avg 20/10 this season? No, but I will say 16 and 9 as my predicition.
Can Aminu be top3 pick? No, but if he continues to improve his perimeter game top 10 isn’t out of the question.

RICO 1981Participantdamn I guess you are right, too bad Derrick Favors doesn’t play in the big 12 maybe he could too.

MkadozaParticipantA lot have players have averaged 20-10. Troy Murphy, Mike Sweetney, David West, Chris Kaman, Kenny Adeleke, Kris Humphries, Paul Millsap, Andrew Bogut, Wayne Simien, Leon Peow, Nick Fazekas, Jason Thompson, Kevin Durant, Tyler Hansbrough, Michael Beasley, Luke Harangody, Arizona Reid, Blake Griffin have done it since 2000.
Can someone steal #1 spot in the draft from Wall? Probably not. For all the “debate” surrounding Beasley v. Rose or Oden v. Durant, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that both of these players would go firs overall. Leading their respective teams to the Championship game helped, and Wall will certainly have the opportunity to do much the same.
Evan Turner 20+/10+/5+ for all this season. At first I was gonna say no, but then again, I have no real reason to doubt him. He’s without question the teams first option, and will have the ball in his hands for the majority of the game. He’s relentless on the boards, and given he’s the second tallest player in the starting lineup, I give him a very real shot.
Willie Warren – the best scorer in the draft? Ehh…. I’d like to say yes, but I think the best foreign player, Donatas Motiejunas ha sthe best scoring skillset in the draft.
Xavier Henry 3rd freshmen in the draft? Yeah, pretty much locked into that spot.
Ed Davis in top5? No way. He’s way too passive to be a top 5 pick. He reminds me of Jordan Hill will better skills and less aggressiveness. He’s a great post passer, but he should be absolutely dominating his competition with his physical tools.
Derrick Favors to avg 20/10 this season? No, they’re frontcourt is too deep. My money for a top 20-10 guy, besides Harangody would be Babbitt.
Can Aminu be top3 pick? Why not? If he proves to have a consistant outside jumpshot to go with his excellent skillset, he’s as good a prospect as any. He’s still only a sophomore, and a young one at that (a couple weeks younger than John wall), so to me, his upside is as good as any prospect in the country.

Evan_MilbergParticipantCan someone steal #1 spot in the draft from Wall?
Possibly, but I don’t see it happening. Franchise PGs are hard to pass up, and Wall will be in the same category as Rose, Paul, Williams, Nash, etc. when he enters the league.
Evan Turner 20+/10+/5+ for all this season.
The rebounding numbers are a tad inflated right now because OSU hasn’t played many tough teams. I expect those to go down once Big 10 play starts, so no.
Willie Warren – the best scorer in the draft?
Absolutely. He’s an underrated passer as well and proving that he can indeed play PG.Xavier Henry 3rd freshmen in the draft?
Yeah. Wall and Favors have the top two locked as far as I can see.Ed Davis in top5?
Possibly, if his production remains consistent throughout ACC play. Right now, he reminds me of Tyrus Thomas, except better defensively. Thomas was able to climb his way to be a top 3 pick, so surely Ed could crack the top 5 with a similar skillset.Derrick Favors to avg 20/10 this season?
Probably not. Gani Lawal will take away too many touches for him to do that. Can Aminu be top3 pick?
I’d say he’s the best SF prospect in the draft. If New Jersey ends up with the third pick somehow, I think it’s Aminu.0 - Posted on: Wed, 12/02/2009 - 5:03am #235010

JoeWolf1There are a lot of people who think Wall is a lock. What is the T-Wolves, Utah via NY, NO or Bucks get the #1 pick? I don’t see them drafting Wall. He is playing great, but I think depending on who wins the lottery they might go with team needs.

lalailaParticipantyes you are right but i said “i’m talking about pushing Wall from #1 spot until draft lottery, when you are looking just at player’s talent”
0 - Posted on: Wed, 12/02/2009 - 11:51am #235097

JoeWolf1Ah, gotcha, I don’t know about that then, maybe Favors if he heats up, but he’s had a pretty typical freshman start, but still has loads of potential and 15-20 games to get the hang of things.
