I want to come up with a list of the top unknown talent that deserve some recognition. A lot of people sleep on prospects and they end up as decent NBA players in either specific roles or even sometimes as a starter in the league. Many players from smaller or lesser-known schools have this problem. I encourage that you list players that you feel may be underlooked or undervalued as a prospect for the 2015 or maybe 2016 Drafts. Here’s my top 3 (NO ORDER):

1.) Sterling Gibbs- Seton Hall (PG) [Jr.]

Great scorer, Hits threes with ease, Good pick and roll player, Hits big shots in big games

2.) Tyler Haws- BYU (SG) [Sr.]

    Scores… a lot

I was going to say Christian Wood out of UNLV, but then I saw he was up to #20 on the mock draft.  So maybe not so much a sleeper anymore.

He could crack the lottery with a few more big performances.  Needs to hit the weights though.

UNC’s  J.P. Tokoto has been slighted for the longest.

Agree with you 100% WCA.  He is a supreme athlete and I see a little Iman Shumpert in him.

Not knocking your Shump reference. Athletically, I pick up a Dahntay Jones feel.

I really like BYU’s Kyle Collingsworth.  He is a 6’6" PG, who is a wonderful facilitator and is flirting with triple doubles almost every game.  He is BYU’s leading rebounder, plays great defense, is an excellent slasher, good passer and a great athlete.  I think he is an NBA player.

OP you nailed your two choices. I played against Gibbs in high school and he dropped 30 on us. I was disappointed when he rode the bench his first year at Texas but he’s been killing it at Seton Hall the past two years. He’s in the running right now for Big East POY. If he was still on Texas I think they’d be a Final Four favorite. Some other names I want to throw in for this thread: DJ Newbill, Joseph Young, Jalan West, Kennedy Meeks, Pat Connaughton, Zach Auguste, Juwan Howard Jr. (dropped 24 on Michigan and 27 on Wichita St.), and Shawn Long (first round talent in my opinion, could not be stopped on the pick and roll with Elfrid Payton last year).

     Terry Larrier – VCU – SG/SF – Fr. – Ht. 6-8 – Wt. 185

Have not heard his name being talked about too much for this years draft, but will probably pick up steam in the next year or two.

Long, athletic wing player that plays on a deep VCU team. Has range out to the 3-point line. Has the athleticism and body to be a lock down defender. Needs to tighten up his handle. Once he does he will be able to drive in the lane more consistantly.  Doesn’t take more then a couple dribbles before he passes or shoots. Has to hit the weight room. Very thin. Averaging about 15 mpg right now. Could be a good rebounder. Tends to hang around the perimeter at times.

    NBA comparison: Paul George

I’ve previously posted on this thread about northern Iowa’s Wes washpun as a really under the radar guy who I could possibly see playing in the league someday.

I also could see Kevin pangos having a decent career as a back up pg ala Steve Blake. He’s a knock down shooter and very intelligent player who rarely turns the ball over, which are traits that coaches look for in that role.

Does RJ Hunter from Georgia St count. He’s a mid-major player but he’s a flat out scorer and a coaches son

    How about:

    Bryce Dejean-Jones, G/F, Iowa State

Do-it-all type who can facilitate and rebound really well

    Dez Wells, G/F, Maryland

Wells was the best player on the court when the Terps beat Michigan State the other night. He’s a freakishly talented guy, just maybe a little undersized for the 3 position. Still think he’s an NBA player.

Kellen Dunham, Butler. He’s a 6-6 junior averaging 17 points per game, shooting 46-48-87.

Offensively, he smacks of Klay Thompson, but I don’t know if he’ll ever defend like Klay.
