Mr. JewboyParticipantAs the lockout goes on, some of our NBA players keep playing overseas. Last night was the first match of the Euroleague, the highest level of club competition in Europe, and these are there stats (it includes players that no longer have contracts in the NBA):
*Donatas Motiejunas(Prokom, Poland) had 15, 5, and 4 in a loss to Galatasaray(Turkey), while his teammates, Alonzo Gee had 10 points and 9 rebounds, and Devin Brown had only 2 points.
*Darius Songaila had only 3 points and 4 rebounds, and Zaza Pachulia managed to get only 1 rebound in 4 mintues playing for Galatasaray.
*Nicolas Batum(Nancy, France) played all 40 min and had 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in a loss to Bennet (Italy)
*David Andersen had 13 points, 5 rebounds and a block in a win over Unics Kazan (Russia), while Dajuan Summers had only 4 points.
*Danny Green (Ljubljana, Slovenia) had 17, 4, and 2 in a beating by Barcelona (Spain), and Davis Bertans had only 2 rebounds in 4 min.
*Rudy Fernandez (Real Madrid, Spain) had another good game with 19, 3 and 2 in 28 min in a big win over Charleroi (Belgium). Nikola Mirotic also played and had 9, 3 and 3 and Sergio Rodriguez had 5 points and 4 assists.
*Shasha Vujacic had 14, 2 and 2 and 4 steals in a win over Partizan Belgrade (Serbia). Ersan Ilyasova had 10, 4 and 3 with 4 steals as well and 2 blocks in addition.

JunkYardDogParticipantKirilenko is just a joke in the fiba way of playing….
17 pts 6/10, 15 rbds, 4 bs, 5 fouls on him, (37 on the evaluation ratio)
and maybe soon (sorry but we have to face the truth : this lockout is gonna last… a long time) the gasols in barcelona and maybe nowitski in munchen !!!
WAOW euroleague will be great that year.

Mr. JewboyParticipantYes it is, that’s the only bright side of this lockout!
There are a few more NBA players that played last night:
*Sean May (Zagreb) had 10, 9 and 3 in a huge loss to Brose Baskets(Germany), while Casey Jacobsen(remember him?!) had 16, 3 and 2 in 21 min for the winning side
*Danillo Gallinari (Milano, Italy) had 23 points (13-16 from the line), 7 rebounds and drew 11 fouls! in a win over powerhouse Macabbi Tel Aviv, and OMARCOOK had 6 points.
*Jordan Farmar (Macabbi Tel Aviv)was a dissapointment although playing injured with 6, 1, and 1 along with 2 steals in the loss to Milano.
*In the game that Kirilenko dominated, Nenad Kristic played as well and had 11 points and 6 rebounds.
*They beat Zalgaris that has Ty Lawson who had 7 points and 3 rebounds (0 assists) and Sonny Weems who scored 16 along with 6 rebounds and 2 steals

JunkYardDogParticipantGreat to hear about casey jacobsen (he was made for european bball as morrison is showing)…
In the italian league douglas roberts played great (he’s around 18 ppg in a strong virtus bologne team) and tonight tony parker played and lost by 1 pt against BCM gravelines (a strong team with pape sy and international bokolo).
Parker in 25 min : 18 pts (7/13) 5 reb 3 ass… and backhache (cause his last plane trip to SA)
Hilton armstrong put 4 pts 6 reb and jamie skeen was invisible.
Another french news is… chandler parsons with cholet is not ready… obvioulsy a lack of agressiveness. Disappointing from this quality player whereas justin harper lpayed great the first game.

Anton123ParticipantIn the Brose Baskets game, did Tibor Pleiss play?

JunkYardDogParticipant@rileymcshea
he really has the talent for… if he keeps on improving and find a team trusting him and making him play where he’s the best (the stretch 4 with freedome to shoot and score)
but I still prefer jan vesely or jonas valanciunas with their high energy profile, winning mentality…

JunkYardDogParticipant@ anton123 :

rileymcshea3ParticipantYeah of course you would take a 5th or 6th pick over the 20th pick but Motiejunas will be a steal for how low he was drafted

JunkYardDogParticipantI prefer vesely or valanciunas towards motiejunas without regarding their draft status. Just based on their profile, on the games I watched and on the kind of player they are and could become. I also prefer those two towards kanter who will be a great player (and a top 3 draft pick).
Motiejunas was a top 5 draft pick for 2, 3 years before sliding so low…. and at 20 he’s a steal for sure. He is so offensively advanced, but he doesn’t have the toughness and passion vesely showed during the last 2 years. Vesely as valanciunas has shown great improvement, constantly. Motiejunas has the same quality he had 3 years ago and didn’t improve the same way.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantHow dare anyone not mention the fact that Saer Sene.
4 games, 15 MPG, 5.8 PPG, 70 percent FG%, 46 percent FT%, 2 OffRPG, 3 DefRPG, 1.5 BPG, 1.5 PFPG, 0.8 TOPG, 9.5 ACB Value
14 games, 16.6 MPG, 6.4 PPG, 55.2 percent FG%, 55.3 percent FT%, 1.9 OffRPG, 3.1 Def RPG, 2.3 BPG, 2.0 PFPG, 1.7 TOPG, 9.6 ACB ValueIt is almost as if a middle tier Spanish league team was able to replace one backup center with little skills with another lightly skilled big man who played well in a high school All-Star game with another lightly skilled big man who played well in a high school All-Star game. No wait, I forgot about Biyombo’s massive offensive skillset. No, no, no, he is the next Ben Wallace you know. Maybe a 6′ 9″ Dwight Howard. Wait, Rich Cho took him in the lottery. It isn’t as if he was the Assistant GM while Seattle drafted Swift, Sene, and Petro. No! No! No!
By the way, who has had a worse lockout than Atlanta’s bench.
Keith Benson, 2 games, 21.5 MPG, 6.0 PPG, 50 percent FG%, 1.0. OffRPG, 3.0 DefRPG, 3.0 PFPG, 2.0 TOPG
Zaza Pachulia, 2 games, 10.5 MPG, 5.5 PPG, 50 percent FG%, 0.5 OffRPG, 2.0 DefRPG, 2.0 PFPG, 1.5 TOPG
Pape Sy, 11 MPG, 2.5 PPG, 33 percent FG%. 1.0 APG, 0.0 RPG, 1.0 PFPG, 0.5 TOPG,Just think about it, Brian Scalabrine is pumping in 14 PPG in Italy. Kyle Singler is averaging 19 PPG in Spain. Whoooo.
It must boggle the mind how they didn’t deal Al Horford to get Jonas Sabonis and assure his VTB United greatness.

It isn’t like Kirilenko is dominating or anything.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantMy head had a Mars Attacks moment. It happens on occasion. I sense the next time will be after Kentucky beats Marist by 35 and there will be five threads comparing Anthony Davis to Kevin Durant, Doron Lamb to Eric Gordon, Mike Kidd-Gilchrist to Ray Allen, and Brian Long to Jimmer. But this one was on me. I should know better than to check in on Fuenlabrada ans see how they are doing.
