    How do they figure out a players attributes on a game, especially rookies?

    They probably have a scale. I feel you can’t go over 82 overall for a rookie.

    In NBA Live 2009 Derrick Rose had a 82 overall rating so yes I don’t think that they should exceed a 82 overall rating for a rookie.

    Like how do they know where a rookies attributes should be, is what I’m trying to understand. Not necessarily overall rating.

    At least they have constant roster updates now to make up for any bad ratings to start the season

    Well Stephen Curry was a great shooter in college, so they probably make him have good shooting attributes?

    I don’t see the issue here. It’s not like they have never seen the rookies play before and don’t know their strengths and weaknesses.
