Am I the only one who wishes the draft would return to TNT? I know its been 12 years but I just find the draft to be getting more boring and lame. At least the TNT crew would make it more entertaining. Any thoughts?

I used to enjoy Bill Simmons as a writer, but I’m not a fan of him on-air.  Too much of a Celtics homer and most of his analogies and theories are pretty out there.  I do like Doug Collins and Jalen Rose as commentators though.  You’re right, TNT would likely be much more interesting.

 Yeah ditto, he somehow seems to make everything about the Celtics somehow.  It doesn’t matter if they are talking about Lebron James somehow he will revert it back to something the Celtics did in the 80’s or something with Larry Bird.  It’s beyond annoying.  And he never talks basketball strategy because he doesn’t know any, instead he tries to set up like these annoying soap opera story lines which are completely fabricated on his part.  If Grantland wasn’t such a success ESPN would have yanked him from TV already.

 Agree, he’s great on his podcasts and his articles are still entertaining because he can be freely opinionated but he’s probably not meant for television.

 I love the TNT guys.  I’m still not sure about Shaq, but Chuck and Kenny are hilarious.  Ernie, Kenny and Chuck have such great on camera chemistry.  They’ve been together for like 15 years now.  I really like Jet.  He’s engaging, funny, and really knows his basketball.  I think he would be a really good coach.

And Bilas drives me nuts.  If you do the drinking game every time he says "ceiling" or "length" or "basketball IQ" you will most likely not make it to see the end of round 1.

 The absolute worst is Simmons and Jalen feeling they are good on TV.  Its one thing to be good and stay humble which the TNT guys are, Jalen and Simmons can’t make fun of each other on TV.

I also cannot stand Jalen and Bill doing thier pre-draft interviews as if they are GMs, or think they ask questions similar to GMs.  The whole NBA "professionalism" is partially hoax.  Gruden is a natural on TV and his QB interviews, first of all breakdown game film at an overwhelming level to the casual fan.  The QB is such an involved position and requires true leadership, which is why Gruden is on their butts and they’re not acting, licking their lips, trying to sound smart.

Hearing Jalen and Bill ask about whether a player has a girlfriend or not…and then following it up with "I think he’s gonna be fine"….is such nonsense.  I’m sure that five minute interview with a guy like AI would’ve been so revealing.  Bill would’ve pierced into Iverson’s soul in those five minutes…..just BS.  These guys think way too highly of themselves.
