I just read your grades guys and as good as some of it are. I’m questioning Portland’s grade. Are you sure it isn’t a typo? You guys graded A on them drafting a project in Simons? I mean sure, he’s an intriguing prospect but the Blazers are in need of NBA ready guys that can help Dame and CJ.

     I’d give Portland a D+
They got two guys who I believe will be great role players in the future and are two of the best shooters in the draft but what they needed was some guards who could play some D.
Simons and Trent Jr are not very defensive minded like what they need.
There were so many other great options available to fill needs such as Khyri Thomas, Keita-Bates Diop, LiAngelo Ba- just kidding.

Given there draft position if they get two great role players that was a great draft. You can’t expect starters in the late first, early second.

         I’m not dumb dude
        Their backcourt lacks defense
So what did they do? Get two shooters who aren’t strong defenders when there were great defenders available.
So, considering their draft position and who was available and who fitted their needs I would say they didn’t do awfully well.

People are surprised by Wagner but he wouldve been a perfect pick for the Blazers. Simons is 2 years away from being 2 years away and he is stuck behind their 2 best players.

yeah I don’t get some of these grades at all. Some teams were rewarded for getting value relative to their draft position (LA) whereas other teams weren’t graded as well while drafting similar value relative to their position (OKC). I don’t understand how Portland got an A while Sacramento got a B for drafting a guy many teams would’ve drafted at #2

Portland gave up 2 future second picks and cash to buy in and get a guy they liked who had slipped in the draft. His dad also played for Portland. I love the pick. I think Trent is a good guy and has upside. When your competing with a team like GS you might as well swing for the fences with every pick
