So I’ve been trying to understand how draft.net does their comparisons, is it based off playstyle or potential impact? Because for example, Dejounte Murray and Dwyane Bacon are both compared to Jamal Crawford, but those two aren’t really the same players by any measure (The Two Prospects). But then again, Skal Labissiere has a LA type play style, but I’m pretty sure he won’t have a LA type impact. I just want to know which narrative do they follow when making comparisons so I can understand them better. Is it play style or predicted impact?

i have been a member for a few years now and still don’t understand the rationale.  another example is
henry ellenson’s player comparisons are brian scalabrine and brian cardinal and he’s in the middle of the first round.  i don’t remember either scalabrine/cardinal being 1st round material so the comparison doesn’t really fit impact.  i guess playstyle is sort of similar but i think ellenson plays similar to bobby portis and his nba comparison was to greg monroe.

Buddy Hield is the next Sam Jones!  Book it, baby!

Skal needs to work on a SKY HOOK!  Looks like a socially akward baby dear impersonating a junior varsity Lew Alcindor.

Thomas Walkup looks like the next Hacksaw Jim Duggan.  And, Mr. Duggan won the first Royal Rumble.  Bodes well for Mr. Walkon, err, I mean WALKUP.

Ben Simmons might be the biggest bust Simmons since Lionel Simmons.  Or, Bobby Simmons.  Or, Richard Simmons.  Or, former WCW champ Ron Simmons.

Tyler Ulis reminds me of the ORIGINAL Isiah Thomas.

Jamal Murray: Pass.  No, seriously dude, PASS!  You just chucked the Wildcats out of the tournament!

    Brice Johnson: Brice, Brice, baby!

Denzel Valentine: Denzel WASHINGTON coulda beaten Middle Tennessee!

Wayne Selden?  Never seen him play.  I mean, I have watched some Kansas games before and I watched most of the Elite 8 game — just didn’t see Wayne Selden play.

I DO like FireMarshall Plumlee with a late second round pick.  All he does is rebound and dunk — well, DUH!

Perry Ellis: shouldn’t we just induct him into the D League Hall of Fame RIGHT NOW?  He can go into the Montrezl Harrell wing.

Jakob Poetl: an Austrian word for "the guy we took instead of the guy we should have took."  See also: Domantas Sabonis: "the guy we should have took instead of the guy we did take.  See also: Jakob Poetl."

Fred Van Vleet: The Mike Conley of the D League in 3 years.  Or, maybe that will just be Mike Conley…

Marcus Lee: a combination of Keith Lee and Sarah Lee — just not in a good way.

Grayson Allen: a cross between DaJuan Wagner, Russell Westbrook, Bobby Sura, Jimmer Fredette, Tim Tebow, and Marco Rubio — just not in a good way.

Man, I had 2 points on my above post just a little while ago.  Now I am back down to 0 (which would STILL by close to my career high).

    What happened?

    Does Grayson Allen post here?

aka Part Time Duke Super Hero, Part time Batman Sidekick!

      My theory:

During normal American sleeping hours, i.e. a couple of hours after the NBA games finish, posts almost always get plenty of +’s.

Yet when they awake…expect a sharp up-tick in negs.

I’m calling it a ‘complaining culture’…..just an observation I’ve made. You just can’t please them.

The number of 1 out of 5 reviews on tripadvisor by American travellers generally backs this theory up. Its out of control…my hotel owning friend doesn’t let them stay anymore cos they sabotage his tripadvisor rating.

You ever heard a chinese or japanese person complain? Neither have I…..
