I stick him at SG. That is his position. While he can set up on offense occasionally that is not his natural/cultivated role. Rivers needs to feel comfortable doing what he does best, scoring the basketball, and at the point not only will he struggle to expertly coordinate the offense (something he could have improved with just one more year under coach K), but he will be more hesitant to attack and create shots for himself, whereas his greatest strength is entering attack mode and utilizing his many strengths as a scorer every time he touches the ball. While some think putting him at PG will make him a more valuable and versatile asset, it will actually limit his potential. Few can score like Rivers, so why try to make him something he’s not?

I’d probably have him run the PG at times during the Summer League, see how he does there

And probably make him run a few plays during training camp, if he does good..you give it a try in-game

He’ll have to prove that he can run the point…Cant just throw him into the fire

He is no point guard…not if your into your point guard passing the ball.

Why? His game is all 2 guard. Maybe he gives up an inch some nights to some 2Gs. So what. A 2G handles the ball and initiates the offense throughout the game so you will see if he can pass and set up the offense. So you basically are going to be trying him as a PG even if you are playing him at SG.

The question for him is what shooting percentage he does. If he shoots 40% or lower he won’t stick in the league. Even his dad won’t be able to give him a job.

Idk, I wouldn’t make him a full time point guard but he could do it. The league is full of combo guards playing the 1, and really that’s all he is. I draft him as a combo guard and let him play both. Depending on where he goes he could play either or. Westbrook plays off the ball when Harden is in. Jrue Holiday plays off the ball most of the time with Evan Turner and Igoudala, Jerryd Bayless has played off of the ball with numerous lineups, Stephen Curry played off of the ball, Mo williams and Chauncey Billups, the point is the list can go on, all of those guys are combo guards who start at the 1. I could also start doing combo guards who start at the 2. The point is, he really doesn’t have to have a set position but a servicable skill, he’s a scorer, let him score, no matter the position.

I would probably try him at PG first. There have been many SGs who started at a PG first, Wade. Penny Hardaway
