festar35ParticipantThe way I see it majority of rosters are set and now is a good time to see who you guys think will walk away with hardware at the end of the season. (Not All-NBA teams just individual awards)
MVP – Kevin Durant, I think this dude just comes back full force and carries on from 2013-14 season, this is no disrepct to any other players but Durant has something to prove and will be motivated from missing the season as well as doing everything to get back to NBA finals. It will be an awesome race with James, Curry and Davis all in with a shot IMO.
DPOY – Anthony Davis, he will be in the running for MVP but I stil think defensively is where he will get the accolades this season, the guy is a best and I think we see another step in the development of him.
ROY – I want to say Myles Turner, but that ain’t happening he will be solid. ROY will be a guy who gets the opportunity to put up numbers and that’ll be Jahlil Okafor I think he will have nice numbers this season and beat out Mudiay for the award.
MIP – Victor Oladipo I think has that 3rd bump and what will become apparent that he is the guy in Orlando, I know there is a lot of young talent there, but I think Oladipo is set up to succeed and his improvement will push Orlando very close to the playoffs. The other guys I see competing for the crown are CJ MCCollum, Alec Burkes and my dark horse is MKG.
6th Man – Rodney Stuckey, yup I went with a Pacers here. He was fantastic coming off the bench after All-Star break and I think he is happy and the Pacers will use him very effectively this season as a scorer and at times playmaker. I think this will be a tight race again and the usual suspects such as Williams, Crawford and Iguodala will be there, but keep an eye for Dennis Schroeder.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantMVP – Russell Westbrook, I have the Thunder as being the best team in the league this year and Russell Westbrook putting up great numbers, not the same as last year, but outstanding numbers. Also in consideration: LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Dwight Howard, James Harden.
DPOY – Rudy Gobert, I believe he deserved to win this award last year. He put up great advanced stat numbers, the media love some advanced stats, and if he started more games he probably would’ve won it last year. Also in consideration: Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, Dwight Howard
ROY – Jahlil Okafor, It’s pretty simple, he will play on a team that lacks scoring options and he have the oppotunity to play tons of minutes. Other rookies will be battling for minutes ot they will be battling for shot attempts. Also in consideration: Emmanuel Mudiay
MIP – Bradley Beal, I feel like this might be the year for Bradley Beal to jump into all star consideration. He does need to stay healthy though. I believe he could’ve been much more than he is right now if he couls stay consistently healthy. After seeing him in the playoffs, being one of the best players in the playoffs, and averaging 23 points per game in the playoffs got me thinking of a big breakout season. Also in consideration: Hassan Whiteside, Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, Otto Porter, Kemba Walker
6th Man – Lance Stephenson, I believe the Clippers going to wind up trading Jamal Crawford and allow Lance Stephenson to be the primary ball handler on the bench. When the last time he was the main ball handler he was considered an all star, I expect him to be a nightly tripple double watch on the bench and average like 12 6 and 5 on the bench. Also in consideration: Isiah Thomas, David West, Mo Williams

SubZeroParticipantPlainly curious, how could you put Russell winning MVP with KD on the same team, and not even have KD in consideration? Especially when Dwight’s on that list, personally I can see about 10 other players winning it before him

Naah I dont really give out many negs or +1s. If something is said that treats the reader like an idiot…then -1. But simply stating an opinion (even if totally whack) is the name of the game.
I find points are no reflection on post quality.
Lets be honest…the best posts can have +24 like the guy that makes the scouting videos…or -35 like Euroballer or the Bogdan guy.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantI believe that Russell Westbrook will have the better season than Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant is the better player but I can see Russell Westbrook averaging 25 points per game, 8 assist per game, and 7 rebounds pergame. And I just forgot to put Kevin Durant in the list of consideration.
I also believe that Dwight Howard going to stay healthy and be a force on the defensive end like he was for the Orlando Magic. Having Ty Lawson opens the game up more for Dwight Howard and he will have more scoring oppotunity. Dwight also never had a full year of health (I believe) since getting traded to the Lakers. I can see him averaging 19 14 and 2.5 blocks per game this year.

SubZeroParticipantAh, can’t say anything you say is wrong or what I say is right cause who knows? Crazy thing is, Westbrook is so insanely talented that it’s possible. Like I said, I’m a huge Thunder fan, so I won’t be upset at all if you’re right.

ChoppyParticipant… But he’s too injured to be in MVP or even DPOY conversation. Even if he remains healthy (which is a massive IF as he hasn’t been healthy in nearly 3 seasons) I still don’t think he’s got the juice left in the tank to put up those numbers consistently across an 82 game season.

Rip255MVP is Anthony Davis – Young buck ready to carry the load
DPOY is Kawhi Leonard – Possibly Rudy Gobert. No one else is in the running except maybe AD.
Most Improved – Ricky Rubio – Will shoot 45% and lead league in assists
Rookie – Mario Herzonja – Will be best non bigman in class when all said and done.
6th Man – Patty Thrills – Epitome of instant offense and finally healthy.

SubZeroParticipantMy predictions that could very well be completely wrong:
MVP: Anthony Davis. I would’ve loved to put Durant here as I’m a Thunder fan, but I don’t see he or Westbrook winning because they’ll be borrowing stats from each other. I don’t completely see Lebron putting up his best statistical season next year as I can see him taking it easy, doing only what is needed to get a high seed then turning it up in the playoffs. Steph and Harden are both probably the strongest contenders, but I think AD will have a historic season and will win if he can get at least a convincing 7 seed.
DPOY: Rudy Gobert. The Jazz will have one of the league’s top defenses, and he’ll be the anchor. Kawhi will always be in this discussion if he’s healthy as well. Andre Drummond wouldn’t surprise me to be a candidate here either.
MIP: Rodney Hood. Another Jazz player gets an as award (unintentional) I live 30 minutes away from Starkville so I got to see Rodney Hood for a year before he went to Duke, and Miss. State fans loved him when he was there. I’m a believer in Rodney Hood and think he’ll be somewhat of a poor man’s Michael Redd next season, providing a great scoring punch for the Jazz. CJ McCollum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Victor Oladipo are all guys I could see winning, too.
ROY: Jahlil Okafor. As other people said, he’ll get the most opportunities and the greenest light of all rookies. Mudiay, Turner, Johnson, and Porzingis I think could all have supporters saying they should win at some point. Not ROY material, but I think Oubre will have a promising year, especially if he gets a lot of burn with Wall
6th Man: Lance Stephenson. With an aging Jamal Crawford, Lance can go back to his Pacer days and be the primary handler off the bench, which is where he’s best. Isaiah Thomas is another perennial contender and won’t surprise anyone when he’s on this list.
COY: Brad Stevens. This was literally a guess, as there a many coaches that could get it. You never know when they will award it to who did the most with the least or who the actual best coach is. If I could, I would give it to Pop every year because he’s one of the best ever and has been the best for a long time. But I could see Stevens overachieving again and being rewarded for it. Alvin Gentry could be there too, along with Kerr, Budenholzer, Spoelstra, and Donovan

asmartin626Participantok I’m gonna step out there a little…
MVP- Anthony Davis. I think he will break out this year. His got a lot of talent on that team, but all have had injury problems and haven’t lived up to potential so he’s going to do a lot by himself. I think 26ppg 13rpg 3-4apg 3bpg 1.5spg is gonna pretty much be his stat line for the next 6-7 years. Word is he’s working in his three this year too.
DPOY- Nerlens Noel. I’m a believer in this guy as far as defense and energy. He’ll never really matter on offense, but can guard 1-4. He’s needs to play PF instead of C and with Okafor will. He’s quick and athletic. He as the potential to be 11ppg 9rpg 1apg 2.5bpg 2.5spg.
ROY- Emmanual Mudiay- this one was close between Okafor, Towns, and he. Only because of usage this year. Personally, I think Hezonja will end up the best of this class, but won’t get as many minutes and ROY is all about stats honestly. I could see 18ppg 5rpg 7apg. Should be a good two-way player and I believe will be the second best player of the draft.
MIP- Victor Olidipo. This goes back to Hezonja not getting as much burn as Mudiay. Oladipo reminds me so much of a young DWade(I know, I know) 23ppg 5rpg 5apg 2.5spg

ChoppyParticipantMVP – Anthony Davis – best young big in the game, will take another step this year.
DPOY – DeAndre Jordan – Will be highly motivated to prove his new contract was warranted and make people forget about his backflip.
ROY – Jahlil Okafor – Will have the minutes and opportunity to put up big numbers
MIP – Greg Monroe – Already a good player, Greg will be the focal point of the Bucks post offence. Should put up career best numbers in Milwaukee.

IndianaBasketballParticipantMVP: Kevin Durant – 100% healthy and back with a vengance… He had six 30 and two 40 point games last season, so I don’t expect rust.
DPOY: Rudy Gobert – Will be the best rim protector and defensive anchor in the league.
ROY: Jahlil Okafor – He’ll get more minutes and touches than any other rookie.
6th Man: Rodney Stuckey – He’s embraced his role and is an improved shooter. He has the ball in his hands more in the second unit and the second unit could have more spacing than the first.
MIP: TJ Warren – This pick may be out there, but I believe Warren is about to make a huge jump upwards, especially if Markieff Morris is traded. My other candidate is Jordan Clarkson.
COY: Fred Hoiberg – He’ll open up the Bulls offense, develop more chemistry between Rose/Butler and I believe the Bulls will get the #1 seed in the East. Billy Donovan is my runner up.

HeroescantdieParticipantMVP = I think KD’s 1st half of this season would be an adjustment for him, especially coming of a layoff, and Russ coming of a career year. Russ will carry his momentum while waiting for KD’s MVP form in the first month or so of this season, If they win 55 games I think KD will be the MVP, I’m a fan of Davis but I doubt they’ll be winning enough games to win his first MVP, especially they have a new system although it will benefit Davis numbers we’ll have to wait and see if it translates to winning games. LBJ numbers will still be solid although I see him taking it slow since he’s not getting any younger, and Playoffs is his main focus. If injuries hit them again in the regular season I see him getting simmilar westbrook numbers last year while fighting for a top 4 seed. Curry and Harden will have the same numbers last year.
DPOY = I ‘ll put AD here, But I need to see his defense translates to winning and increase they’re team defense efficiency, and I need him to also increase a liitle bit of his rebounding, runners up are Andre Drummond, He rebounds well and block shots and Rudy Gobert.
ROY = I’ll go with Okafor, Okafor will have a better stats than Mudiay, Okafor is the most offensively polished Rookie combine it with PT equals ROY. I’m a fan of Mudiay but his low field goal percentage will held him back to win ROY.
MIP = I’ll go with Alec Burks of Utah, coming of a shoulder injury, on 2013 2014 season he average 14 ppg on 28 mins, last season he shared the back court with burke and exum. with Exum gone for the year, and Burke will continue to have a low shooting percentage, Utah will rely on him together with Hayward. I think he has a better chance to win MIP.
