I was just watching a BIAS youtube video on the Heat versus Lakers and saw something… I thought I should share…

Anyone notice that the top defensive teams get away with hand-checking and hacking?  I’ve always saw the hacking with the most recent Boston Celtics championship team, but now the Miami Heat is doing it… I literally watched D. Wade hand-check Kobe EVERYTIME (Great defense in my opinion), but not get called for a foul once…  Then on the opposite end I don’t even see Kobe touching D. Wade… Is it BIAS for "physical" teams?

Another thing, I can’t seem to find the current NBA rule book anywhere online.  Can someone find that?  I was reading an article that said the NBA has relaxed its rules on illegal screen setting…  It’s NOT illegal to still be moving while setting the screen, you just can’t stick out a knee or extend your arms… Which make sense because it’s moving screens on EVERY play in the League…  (FYI… I didn’t know that and want to make sure its true before I stamp it…  I’m pretty sure you guys would want to know that info too since its very unclear when you watch a game…)

Which reminds me, Pick and Roll offense…  I HATE IT… That’s like the cheat code in the NBA…  With no hand-checking and allowed moving screens it’s damn near UNSTOPPABLE…  I don’t care if a primed GP came back, it’s no way to REALLY stop it…

you should post the youtube clip so we can analyize it ourselves.

as for the moving screen thing, im not sure how its written in the books, but its always been pretty much up to the interpretation of the refs. I mean nobody is ever 100% still. But if you are clearly moving in order to gain an advantage on the screen, then thats pretty much a foul every timee, or at least should be.

As for the pick and roll, i have no problem with it. Hand checking is still allowed and you see it all the time, you just cant use 2 hands or completely straighten your arm locking your elbow. But putting one hand on an opponent is still legal and you see it every play down just about. I was watching marion put his hands all over lebron in the finals.

that forearm out to guard folks… Only in the post, when they back is towards you… I can’t find the Rules video on NBA.com with the hand-checking volation…  But it was up there and said you have to remove that arm once the offensive player is facing you… As for it always being done, I don’t see a lot of teams/players hand check unless they are a top defensive team…

well its aboviously biased. I mean he makes some valid points, but he also is clearly a laker hater calling kobe a pus.sy and gasol a puss and killing kobe for every single decision he makes. I mean one play he actually dribbles towards the baseline draws a double team and kicks to the open man with plenty of time on the clock and hte guy criticizes him for trying to play hero ball. I guess kobe should never try and take his man One one one? Or is it only hero ball if it misses? And the 3 pointer where kobe flails his arms from the corner, it does look like wade clips his leg but the guy making this vid descirbes it as kobe being an idiot who just whines. Whatever. Lakers haters run deep.

    D. Wade did slap Pau in the head too… But what he didn’t talk about on that very SAME play he was calling Kobe a punk when he kicked his leg out Big Z goaltended a lay up, that was a no call…

Also he didn’t even mention that how UNCLUTCH the Heat was when that stat line came on…  The commentators even said something about it… Sad, sad, sad…

But did you see what I was talking about with the hand-checking?  Or you was just too pissed by the dude and forgot why you were looking at the video?  LOL…

so IDK if that was actually a travel or they thought it was continuation?

I remember the second one because I was SCREAMING at the tv… How that’s NOT a travel right?  But went on the NBA website and they said a player can dive for a ball and stand up with it…  I think they showed Shaq getting up with the basketball… So, it was actually a legal play brother…

i dunno.. personally i’ve always thought basketball was too tied up in calling small fouls just so that offenses have the advantage and the games are more exciting.. ( hand checking etc ) … in a way i think it’s taken away from the game quite a bit… just let the guys play…
