If you haven’t already, I highly recommend pre ordering through Amazon. Shipping is 99 cents, it comes in the mail on the release date, and when I pre ordered I got a ten dollar credit so really with the credit and no taxes and 99 cent shipping you save 15 bucks on the game. Well worth it. Not to mention the two bonus teams. 

With improved physics, AI, player models (and updates), no more sideline/baseline force fields among other improvements; this game has me ready for something unreal.

I’m so jacked over how many legends are in the game. And not just legends, but the historic players. In 2K11 the older teams were only five players deep, in this one they have damn near every teams full roster.

That being said, last year I started a dynasty but when I got bored more or less with it I came up with a pretty sweet idea. I know its time consuming, but I don’t game much and I love basketball in general and this game.

Anyhow, I take the legends/old players from their old teams and place them on their current day teams. Then I take everyones age and take it down to 19 (some can go to 18 for some reason) so they’re all rookies. Then I either give the old players 1yr deals so they are all FAs at the end or I give them a player option on top of 1yr.

Its just cool to see the old players in with the new guys and it makes for more parity when you play, and I like a challenge. Also, guys like Ben Wallace and T-Mac get their ratings adjusted so they reflect their prime stages in their career. It takes an hour or two to get all that done but when you’re bored with dynasty mode its a good way to reinvent the game.

This year is gonna be sick. The fact that you can take anyone and go through their career is nuts. And since you can put the older players on current rosters via my idea, itd be pretty sweet to take control of some of the classic players careers. Nice.

2K11 was my first take-two game, and I was kind of nervous. I’m an EA Sports convert, and I’ll never go back. Was at my folks house the other day, and my dad games (mostly Tiger, lots of f-bombs and money thrown around when we play that game). Anyhow, we threw in NBA LIVE 10 just for kicks, and I can’t even believe I paid more than ten dollars for that trash game. It was seriously a pathetic experience. I now literally use it as a coaster.

#winning.

That being said, 2K11 was the best sports game, and game period… that I’ve ever played. I fully plan on having my mind blown by 2K12.

I’m more and more optimistic, the more I hear about lockout negotiations progressions I think [hope] we won’t have to wait until AFTER the release to have the rookies in the game. Crossing my fingers.

 

That should be a new negotiation point of emphasis ha, getting it done by the time the game ships so that we can have the rookies included. That’d be funny cus you all know damn well they play this game.

Pre-ordering through Amazon is a great idea. None of my local video game stores are set on having a midnight release because they "didn’t get enough pre-orders yet." I might even go to class the day it comes out.

but I look forward to playing with some of the guys that don’t have as big of a rep as far as how far it precedes them in basketball head’s minds. Like Kendall Gill on D, Sidney Moncrief, Elgin Baylor… there are some guys I really want to see represented well as far as their likeness goes in 2K. I still can’t even believe how much they packed into this game. Every few days they reveal something new about the game. And people say that the lockout will hurt sales, I think that’s hogwash honestly. The game looks exponentially better than last year’s and that game was borderline world renowned. I think they will smash last year’s sales, honestly. Or at least match them. I’d be shocked if they didn’t.
