mikeyvthedonParticipantI was reading an article about Nelson Agholor, a Florida athlete who is currently rated as the #41 prospect by ESPN.com (story: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/news/story?id=6747020), when I was directed to go to this:
Than, I saw Terrelle Pryor as a link, which lead to this:
Than, realizing Kasen Williams (A Washington Huskies signee who is one of the top WR’s coming into college football in 2011-12) just won MaxPreps.com athlete of the year, I came across this:
Any other sick clips of Football players playing ball? I realize Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Julius Peppers and many others are sick basketball players, but I was just wondering if anyone had some football players showing us something on the hardwood. Also, I know Allen Iverson was a QB, and Ronald Curry was a top basketball prospect. I am kind of preferring football players playing ball rather than vice versa.

LazarusMunozParticipantActually seing footage of basketball players on grid iron would be kinda interesting…you really dont see too much of that since most star basketball players devote all there time to just that once sport…You see more football players in high school moonlight in other sports(you see alot of quarterbacks as pitchers in baseball and athletic football players usually try their hand at basketball or tennis)

mikeyvthedonParticipantMan, I thought Ronald Curry was going to be the MAN when I was a kid. Everyone was comparing him to AI, as they were both from VA and excelled at football/basketball. Plus, Ron won MVP of the McDonald’s All-American game, and was being super hyped. However, Julius Peppers, the MUCH less hyped basketball player, was way more productive (at both sports) for UNC. That was a good example of a football/basketball duo. We had Jordan Kent, who ended up playing on the practice squad for the Seahawks, but was our basketball coach, Ernie Kent’s son.
Jordan also ran track, phenomenal athlete. He only started playing football junior year in college (I do not remember as to whether he even played in HS), but, had he started earlier, he might have been really awesome. As far as basketball was concerned, he was really athletic, hustled and was a nice defender/energy guy. Could not shoot for his life, though. Could not find any basketball clips of Jordan, but here is a REALLY awkward clip of him being happy his dad got ejected from a game. Ernie cheated on his wife, and I heard their was a lot of tension between elder and younger Kent.
Know Dave Winfield for sure, did not know he was that HUGE. But, he was a great player, played for the Yanks/Jays. Awesome athlete.

JoeWolf1I used to play basketball and KU’s rec center and a lot of the football players would come play pickup games in the off season. A lot of them were really good ball players, and when you play football you tailor workouts for speed and explosiveness you’re going to have a lot of big strong dudes that can jump. Year in and year out the NFL combine has significantly higher verticals than the NBA.
T.O. has thrown down some pretty good dunks over the years in celebrity games and such.
