is a joke. He should be a lottery pick. Has everything you would want in a point guard.

How are players like Ty Lawson and Isiah Thomas better than Shabazz? Not suggesting that he is better, but I’m actually wondering. Do people think he’s an undersized 2? I’d disagree, he has an incredible feel for the game. He seems to control the game whenever he’s on the court. He is a terrific passer who can dictate tempo and an awesome ballhandler with solid quickness. Whenever his team needs a shot, he slithers through any crease to get one . He is a knock down shooter from three point land and the midrange.

I think people are putting too much stock into tall, athletic point guards. Most PG’s aren’t over 6’1" but everyone acts as if he’s severely undersized. He can shoot the ball, pass, manage a game, handle and play defense. He’ll be a starter in the league.

The reality is he is an undersized combo guard. Great player, but I really feel that he is more of a mid-late 1st rounder.

What is it about point guards that can shoot where they are labeled combo guards? He was one of the (if not the) best pick and roll players in the nation, he has great court vision, is a crazy ball handler and takes care of the ball. If he couldn’t shoot would that be good enough for you to call him a true point guard?

The fact Ennis and LaVine are basically the top 2 PG "prospects" helps Napier’s case, that’s for sure.

I doubt any NBA scout considers Lavine a PG

He’s a senior who will be 23 soon enough, he should be killing these inexperienced kids.  He’s a good player and will probably make a pretty good pro but let’s not get carried away.  He has almost 5 years of age on some Kentucky players and by all accounts already has his "man" body and strength.  Like dude said above, he’s an undersized 2 guard who will make for a good back up guard off the bench.

Napier does not have elite court vision. He could be OK running the pick and roll at the next level but I don’t see him stocking up the stat sheet with +6 assists… ever. This draft class is really weak at the PG spot…

     "everything you want"

Such as that 6’1" size and that 43% field goal percentage and that averaging well under 6 assists per 40 minutes at the college level

Numbers does not always tell all the story, he had to take a lot of bad shots because of the ucon system, and he doesn’t had much quality scorer to pass to… He is a true pg because of his poise, ball handling, good passing and rounded game, he is a great talent…

are all 6-1 and under so your comment about height is just plain stupid just as is your comment about his field goal percentage. He shot a lot of 3’s which brought down his overall FG%, and by the way you left out that he shot 40 from three this season.

I’m not saying he can’t be successful, but I definitely wouldn’t say he’s the ideal, prototypical point guard and that’s why he’s projected as a late first-rounder
