Meditated StatesParticipantTurner shows good defensive potential though not as strong. Turner also has way more O. I hear the Celtics want to move up for a chance at one of these 2.
Who is the better fit, better future player in your opinion?
Why?

B-ball fanParticipantHe has a much more defined NBA role. In the spacing deprived NCAA, his offensive game was always going to be limited. Put him in the NBA and his ability as a roll man will be more emphasized. WCS could become a great PnR offensive player and defender. Turner still has major questions about exactly how his offensive game will develop, so he may have more upside on offense, but that upside is not enough to overcome the defensive superiority of WCS and the fact that WCS’s offensive game could translate quicker.

CoachWyersParticipantI haven’t seen that the Celtics want to trade up for Cauley-Stein only Turner, but I think Cauley Stein would be the better fit for them as they really need a rim protector. They are like comparing apples and oranges because Cauley Stein is going to be drafted for his defense and Turner for his offense, but both guys should be decent role playing starters that would ideally be your 5th starter so in terms of who will be better in the NBA it depends on what you value more. If I had to pick one I would say Turner has beter defense than Cauley-Stein has offense so I would give the slight edge to him.

SpartanGloryParticipantActually Myles Turner blocked 4.2 shots per 36 minutes as a freshman. He’s got much more potential than WCS on both sides of the ball and I’d be surprised if he wasn’t drafted before WCS.

Captain LParticipantAs time goes by and the draft get closer I am becoming more of a fan of Turner, all he really needs is to get stronger, especially his core and legs. WKS is a tremendous athlete especially for a seven footer but sometimes developing into a shooter/scorer isn’t as easy as we’d like , defensively he can be great ( I’m a Jazz fan & love Gobert but) , my question about WKS is does he love the game enough to really work to develope his offense. Same may go for Turner, is he willing to hit the weights and get his body fixed. I hope Turner lasts until my Jazz can pick him but I doubt he will, I can easily see Bird snatching him right before the Jazz pick. If the Jazz can’t get Turner, I hope they get Lyles or Kominski, I think they should be able to get one of those 3.

Meditated StatesParticipantHe looks like a better prospect when i watch his workouts. His D is good and his O is even better.
