D-Wade is not the best, he’s very good but he has very slowly sort of transformed into an old man’s game, not entirely because he still hs mad hops, but he’s headed there, but I love his low post  game, what we see from him in the post as far as turning on your defender and getting the rim and creating space without taking a shot of Kobe’s difficulty, is what I want Russell Westbrook to slowly adapt, and what a slightlty younger and bucnier Kobe used to do, Kobe was even better at it.

I know people are going to take problem with this, but I’m sick and tired of watching clowns like Skip Bayless claim this guy is the best player in the world or anything like that.

I have given Wade all the credit he’s deserved for his accomplishments. Poor officiating or not, its impossible to argue with the fact in 2006 Wade was the best player in the world. He carried his team to a championship, whether it was controversial or not.

And that wasn’t the last time Wade was impressive. Both the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 campaigns were very impressive, and he seemed like he was one of the best players in the league.

But what has become now just sickens me. I have never seen a superstar calibur player rely more on transition dunks and layups to pad his stats. He gets most of his points from there and the FT line, with more flopping, acting, and whining than any other player. If Lebron or Kobe acted this way, we would crucify them on a daily basis. Yesterday was a perfect example. Shooting, he was 8-23, which, ya know, is really bad. He had at least 3 dunks (his now signature, pretend he got fouled, complain to ref long enough for his team to get a stop and feed him for an uncontested dunk routine) and 13 FTs, and everyone talks about he great he was. His jump shot he become completely unreliable, he doesnt even take 3s anymore (shot 26.8% from downtown this season) and he just isnt that good of a player. He is like an older Russell Westbrook, minus a mid range game. He depends on officiating more than any other player, and so often makes it obvious he isn’t even trying to make the shot.

But heres the thing that gets me the most, this stupid, sick notion that he’s better than Lebron, or should be the crunch time guy for the Heat. First off, Lebron has no doubt been the leader of the Heat ever since he’s gotten there. And Lebron has dominated on a night to night basis unlike anything Wade has been able to do. I can not support his Finals performance, it was puzzling, and disappointing. But "Batman" didn’t exactly rescue him. In game 4, he could have tied the game with 2 FTs, and choked. Then at the end of regulation, when Dwyane was getting the big shot, he dropped the inbounds pass and had to throw up a heave at the buzzer. Then this season, he was installed as the "closer", because he hit a shot to be the historically bad Bobcats. Wade really hasn’t hit any other clutch shots this year, and the fact they gave him the ball at the end of that Knicks game made little to no sense, and Wade, again, fumbled the ball and cost his team a chance to win. Lebron got hollared at for passing it off to a wide open Udonis Haslem earlier this year, but Wade can continue to fail in crunch time and no one cares. Even against the Bulls this year, when he was on in the fourth quarter, he took a horrible shot at the buzzer that had no chance.

It just bothers me that because hes not the most scrutinized player at his position (Kobe) or his team (Lebron) he gets a pass for choking, crying to officials, flopping, and just overall not being as awesome as we expected him to be after that 2006 Finals. He won 0 playoff series between Shaq and Lebron, and though he’s undoubtably a top 10 talent, he has more flaws than most other "super stars"

Were you in the Heat huddle? Or do you know Eric Spolestra on a personal basis?

I agree with many of your points, but not for all the same reasons.

First off, Wade is still one of the most athletic 2 guards in the league and he has decent height with a monsterous wingspan. He is an intelligent player who chose to pick his spots this season. Last year there was a silent war about who was the Alpha dog. This year Wade says its Lebron and it has simplified roles for the better.

Coming into this year Spolestra told Wade and Lebron to minimize 3’s. They were never really great at them anyways and they are LAZY shots for guys who can get into the lane at will. Once in the lane, take your shot or pass out to a real 3 point shooter. This was by design, not that Wade got away from taking them.

Flopping, your absolutely right about that! I hate it. Its a bad Joke and Wade is one of the worst. He does it on offense and defense nearly every possesion at some point. However, flopping and complaining to the refs is exactly what got Wade his championship in 2006. They are statistically proven to get favorable results. I remember screaming at my tv with all the BS calls Wade got that finals series. The trick to flopping and complaining is your putting the refs in a position to have to act either way… and if your at home, the fans will get on the refs case aswell. Why quit doing something that gets results? There’s no morality clause in the NBA.

Career wise, Wade has closed more games then Lebron. Wade is a better 1 on 1 player with shifty moves and a nasty handle. Lebron is a freight train looking for his quick first step and then forcing contact. Its 2 different styles. Wades worked better up untill this season and Lebrons did not. This is the first season Lebron has been more effective then Wade in that regard and its likely due to maturity in his decision making.

    But he blocks 7 footers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No seriously, he doesnt get scrutinized as much BECAUSE he isnt Kobe, king of LA and the league for years and cos he isnt Lebron, clearly the top guy in the league today. I will agree his jumpshot has been poor for some time and he fux up but everyone does. He just isn’t talked about as much at all. He doesn’t get no passes from me either, especially in the clutch cos he became my favourite player for getting it done in the clutch. I dont know why anyone even listens to Skip Bayless, I don’t.

However, he is the better leader.  That’s why he already has one ring and Lebrick doesn’t.

I agree that Lebron is the most talented player in the league right now, but a quick question for the Lebron lovers: If you take Lebron off Miami what do you see their record being? Miami had a 46-20 record this year and a 58-24 record last year. Honestly if you take out Lebron i could see Miami having the same record. Thats my number one problem with him. There is no reason that Miami shouldnt have the best record in the league and be blowing every team out. they are that much better than everyone else.

One last thing: Chris Bosh has got to be the most underrated player in the league no question. The guy before he became a 3rd option in the heat was averaging 24 ppg and 11 rpg for the raptors. Lets compare his per 36 min stats from his last season with toronto with someone this site is in love with Kevin Love.

    Bosh: 23.9ppg, 10.8rpg, 2.6apg, 1.0bpg, 0.6spg, 52%FG, 80%FT team record 40-42
    Love: 24.0ppg, 12.3rpg, 1.8apg, 0.5bpg, 0.8spg, 44%FG, 82%FT team record 26-40

Bosh was an extremely talented player that one season carried a raptors team with TJ Ford, Anthony Parker, Rasho Nesterovic and Jorge Garbajosa as starters to a 47-35 record and the 3rd best record in the east! And it gets better they were only 3 games behind King James cleveland cavaliers!

It just further proves my point that Whether Lebron is the best player in the league or not its just shocking how he doesnt win more games. Miami has one of the most talented basketball teams ever put together and its crazy how they arent the over whelming favorites to win it all.

Last year I said that D Wade may have peaked. He has to transition his game now from more of a D Rose game to a Kobe-type game.

That sort of game would really complement LeBron James. But man, not sure if Wade is what he used to be, Bosh was never that kind of guy, and now it looks like the Heat are a one man team (LBJ) plus some great role players. Obviously, Wade and Bosh are very good but The Thunder have a great Big Three/Four and the Lakers have some great go-to guys.

This might be the Heat’s best chance. If they can’t get it done this year, or if Bosh is out for the playoffs then their championship window might not be as far open as everyone thinks.

Amen! I despise Dwyane Wade. There is this huge misconception that he’s a good shooter and LeBron isn’t. First of all Wade has never at any point been a better shooter then LeBron James (except from the line). He’s a horrific 3 point shooter and his midrange game is nothing more then average despite how great everyone else claims it is. Despite this, for seemingly no reason at all people come to the conclusion that he’s a good shooter. I mean look at the idiots who plays 2k and take like 10 3’s with Wade per game. LeBron has been a solid shooter since like his 4th season, something Wade has never been. He flops worse then James, he complains and acts like he’s been shot literally every time he misses and really does nothing better then LBJ (never has) except move laterally. I honestly don’t believe you can even win a title with him as your best player anymore. He’s probably the most overrated player in the league, which is saying alot considering he’s still a top 7 player for sure.

The Heat were like 12-1 without for gods sake! He also gets a pass for being the "nice guy" when in reality he’s as big an egomaniac as Lebron and Kobe easily. Even yesterday he slipped when he got the ball then James came behind him, got the ball and sealed the game with his pullup jumper. Dwyane Wade is kind of like Paul Pierce in the sense that everyone thinks he’s awesome for the one Finals he had, when he hasn’t been able to lead a team for sh*t without Shaq (not counting now because it’s obvious LeBron is the leader of the team). The worse player with the worse attitude on the court gets 1/1000 of the criticism of his better teammate, seems fair.

My main problem with Wade is his fake hustle plays. Hes always arguing and falling down unnecesarily which puts him and his team in a bad position a lot of the time.

And No reason they should be having Lebron handle the ball for the first 47:30 of the game then all of a sudden pretend like Wade is the better player and have him go one on one in crunch time. Notice how Lebron gets crucified for making the pass to Haslem for a wide open ft line jumper in whatever regular season game that. Then in the playoffs vs NY Wade dribbles 1 on 1 for 20 seconds and tries a turnaround fadeaway 3 from the corner and you dont hear a peep about it from no one. There isnt one thing Wade does better Lebron and thats not even a knock on Wade cuz he is still a top 5-8 player.

I’ve been saying for  a long time he would have had a lot less injuries in his career if he wouldn’t have spent so much time throwing himself to the floor trying to get a call.

As far as crying to the officials, though, I think Kobe is just as bad as D-Wade.

First off everyone outside of james gets a pass on last possessions not only Wade. My main thing with wade is he is just on cruise mode at all times he rarely brings it and he just seems uninterested and unaggressive most of the time. I still believe he is a top 3 player and when he does have his.moments and is on his game can impact the game like only he and james can. I also thinl.he is an overrated shooter howe°c er but mostly because he settles probably due to my point above. In last second situations everyone misses and makes.the occasional bad.play, evryone. I am fine with wade having the ball in closing situations because he simply.is just a very great offensive.player, however james would be my first choice as he is the best player in the game and will always make winning plays, i always think there first option shoild include both players though because to have a wade or james standing in the corner on a game winning play seems soo outrageous to me..

Then you are completely out of your mind. Don’t you remember the pre-Lebron Heat? They were hardly contenders. And before you overrate the hell out of Chris Bosh, this guy can’t even grab 7 rebounds a night in the playoffs. Underrated? Good joke.

He has to transition his game now from more of a D Rose game to a Kobe-type game.

Except the part where Kobe is an excellent jump shooter and Wade is horrible at it?

He’s not on my team lol.  Honestly, everyone who is ripping Dwayne Wade, what teams do you root for that he wouldn’t be the best player on your team?  You’re lucky cuz there aren’t many; he’d be so far and away the best player on my Sixers its not even funny.

With the mvp and 3rd leading scorer next to him Wade still put up 22 a game, 7th best among all players.  Certainly wasn’t all stat padding.

And Y2G, you said: "First of all Wade has never at any point been a better shooter then LeBron James (except from the line"….That’s simply not true.  Wade at one point in time had arguably the best mid range game in the NBA.  He’s never been a better 3 point shooter though (29% career from downtown. Get off South Beach and go practice shooting 3’s.)  Right now though, LeBron has the better jump shot.

Please tell me when Wade’s midrange came close to Kobe’s, or even Rip Hamiltons? Because he hit a few clutch shots and everyone went nuts over it? He’s ALWAYS been an overrated shooter. If people actually watched all the games he was solid for a few years at it and regressed to about average. I was wrong saying LeBron was always better, but outside of about 2 seasons, that stands to be true. LeBron has improved his jump shot every year and has always been better from deep. Wade’s midrange game gets credit and I have no idea why. It’s laughable when people think he can shoto 3’s, dude is a worse 3 pt shooter then Russell Westbrook. And I’m rooting for the Heat to win a title.

Between like his 3rd and 6th seasons I want to say?  Can’t remember exactly when but he was definitely a really good mid-range shooter for a few years.  How someone gets worse at shooting over time is beyond me.
