    1. Cleveland – Kyrie Irving – Kyrie remains the consensus choice for Cleveland although Williams could fill their SF hole post Le Bron and a long term SG will also be required if Parker moves on. With PG’s now having high draft value getting your playmaker in place is a logical step and he can learn from Baron Davis especially if both can be accommodated in the starting line up although one of the other PGs will probably have to be moved.
    2. T-Wolves – Derrick Williams – Whatever the T-Wolves do with this pick, Williams is the consensus choice as a top 2 pick so has to go here. How they fit him in has been discussed numerous times on this board so I won’t add to it here.
    3. Utah – Brandon Knight – Brandon now seems the popular choice at 3 so I won’t differ from that as Utah have decent frontcourt depth and the SF’s in this year’s draft don’t merit going higher than Knight on upside. Having acquired Derrick Favours the youngest player in last year’s draft via the D-Will trade, Utah now take the youngest player in this year’s draft as they look to rebuild. He can learn from and play alongside Devin Harris for a year of two before he takes on point duties full time.
    4. Cleveland – Enes Kanter – With Cleveland taking a PG with 1st pick, it’s logical they take a big with the 4th pick. Kanter is perhaps a bit further along than Valanciunas so they take him. With Jamieson going into his last year there will be long term frontcourt minutes alongside Varejao and Hickson for Kanter to fill.
    5. Toronto – Kawhi Leonard – Kawhi’s length gives the Raptors perimeter defence to help make up for the lack of true size in their frontcourt. Valanciunas would also have been considered but with quite a bit of frontcourt depth they go for a guy who can play the 3 more and Vesley would have also been in the mix.
    6. Washington – Jan Vesley – Having missed out on Leonard they take a potentially solid intangibles guy to play the 3 long term. He may not be spectacular but should help the team improve, Rashard Lewis can help him improve his offensive game.
    7. Sacramento – Kemba Walker – The Kings take the best PG they can find, he can form a long term backcourt with Evans and initially play around Beno and Evans as an impact 6th man.
    8. Detroit – Jonas Valanciunas – If Jonas falls to 8, Joe Dumars takes a deep breath, looks to the havens and says “ please don’t let him be another Darko!”. Seriously Jonas would compliment the more offence based Greg Monroe, Big Ben can help him develop and hopefully Detroit have a future frontcourt in place.
    9. Bobcats – Marcus Morris – The Bobcats take a guy who can give them much needed additional frontcourt size and who as an NCAA senior should be fairly NBA ready.
    10. Bucks – Alex Burks – The Bucks take an SG with nice size to play along Jennings and initially around him and Salmons.
    11. GSW – Klay Thompson – He seems the consensus choice here and will give depth at 2 and 3 especially allowing Ellis and Curry to reduce their minutes.
    12. Utah – Donatas Motiejunas – Having taken a backcourter with 3rd pick, they take a young big here. With Okur in his last year, Donatas gives a nice potential long term replacement.
    13. Phoenix – Jimmer Fredette – Phoenix take a scoring PG who can thrive in their system and if Brooks does move on gives them a safety net. Also even if Brooks stays then Nash cannot go on for ever so it gives them another shot at replacing him.
    14. Houston – Chris Singleton – With Battier having been traded on, they take an SF to compete with Budinger for minutes.
    15. Indiana – Marshon Brooks – Another consensus choice, he’ll give them an option at SG and extra bench depth going forward.
    16. Philly – Bismack Biyombo – Perhaps the most difficult player to place with his limitations and upsides. But Philly can let him develop with Brand to mentor him and he compliments the more finesse based Spencer Hawes.
    17. New York – Markieff Morris – A safe choice who can give the Knicks frontcourt minutes from the word go. They can give him a few buckets when needed to keep him interested on offence and he can help their defence and fill vital roster minutes.
    18. Washington – Jordan Hamilton – Another SF but with a deep frontcourt and a fairly versatile roster they can find minutes for him.
    19. Charlotte – Nikola Vucevic – The Bobcats need frontcourt size so take the best C they can find.
    20. T-Wolves – Tristan Thompson – The T-Wolves take BPA and then figure out what to do with him.
    21. Portland – Iman Shumpert – With Miller perhaps moving on and Roy’s injury worries, Portland take a guy to help cover backcourt minutes.
    22. Denver – Kenneth Faried – If K-Mart or Nene moves on then Faried will help to provide extra frontcourt depth.
    23.  Houston – Tobias Harris – Gives them options and depth at both 3 and 4.
    24. Oklahoma – Kyle Singler – A Duke product comes to the team with winning mentality and will play around KD and Ibaka.
    25. Boston – Reggie Jackson – Gives them an option behind Rondo and Allen whilst allowing him to develop.
    26. Dallas – Davis Bertans – The Champions take a long SF who can be given time to develop or even remain abroad for a year or two.
    27. New Jersey – Jeremy Tyler – He’d be a project but he could give them long term frontcourt size and help to reduce Brook Lopez’s workload.
    28. Chicago – Chandler Parsons – An SF who can play behind Deng and give useful bench depth.
    29. San Antonio – Tyler Honeycutt – Gives the Spurs nice size at both 2 and 3 and Coach Poppovich can bring him along as required.
    30. Chicago – Trey Tompkins – Stays in the first round just and gives useful frontcourt depth. Kurt Thomas can help him to develop.

Not a bad draft, although I still think the Knicks are gonna be looking for backcourt help, at least that’s what I’ve been hearing.

Bulls would probably take Justin Harper or Nikola Mirotic instead of those guys.

And I think Chicago will target a shooting gaurd with one of their 2 first rounders.

Cheers, I’ve tried to mix it up a bit as well as look at consensus picks. I may update before the draft if I have chance.

Why do the Jazz take a PF if they already have 2 good ones?
