Tim49461ParticipantAfter his immature reaction to getting drafted to now this.
There is a video of Zach throwing a shoe at his dog’s genitals and laughing about it.
The dude is just so childish and it annoys the Crap out of me that he thinks he is entitled to be in the NBA as it is and now this.

butidonthavemoneyHurting animals is not a sign of immaturity, as much as it’s a sign of being a sociopath.
Fuck Zach LaVine. I wouldn’t want somebody like him on my team.

MopgrassParticipantThere is currently something wrong with him. At 18 you still have a chance to change. You have to hope something clicks in his head.

Dog_ShammdogParticipantThis is the worst topic I’ve ever seen on this site. You have no idea what was going through his mind as he was drafted. Somebody doesn’t rejoice to you’re liking and you have the audacity to say definitive statements about him that are complete minutia and you’re making harsh judgements on a 18 year olds actions(dog incident). He’s 19 now and for the first time in his career is getting the recognition he deserves. Keep in mind he was an all american coming out of h.s. He’s a Great prospect with great talent. Get Over yourself n get a life

OhCanada-ParticipantYou dont throw shoes at dogs genitals. Thats a big no no. Although it wasnt a man who did that it was a kid. You have to be willing to forgive and judge him on his actions going forward. His previous actions were terrible but weve all done terrible things we wish we didnt do. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes and grows into a professional.

butidonthavemoneyI really don’t think that throwing a shoe at a dog’s genitals is "kid being a kid". I can only speak for myself, but I know I had no inclination to hurt animals when I was younger. The only kids I knew that enjoyed &$#%#&@! like that never grew into fully-functioning adults.
That kind of action is a major red-flag to psychologists. It’s not a sign of an innocent kid not knowing any better; it’s a textbook sign of somebody that has serious developmental/social issues.

joecheck88ParticipantWhile I agree with you no money, I think you missed the point of the previous comment. It’s that as a kid you find yourself in situations around your friends and can make bad decisions. While I never wanted to hurt animals or anything I was never in a situation to do so. We’ve all done silly things as a teenager and while wrong it happens. He was a kid and still is. It was a dumb decision but I’m sure he’s been talked to about it and realizes he’s an adult now. As far as the draft thing, I think he was a little mad about "falling." I think he expected to go higher and nothing wrong with being bummed. From a competitive standpoint I would be mad too. Now get to work and prove 12 teams wrong(or 10 because 2 picked twice).

butidonthavemoneyOnly time will tell if it’s a symptom of a greater problem or not, but if I’m the Timberwolves, the incident does concern me. Not because I think he’s going to turn into a serial killer or start biting his opponents, rather because intangible qualities (such as interacting with teammates, responding to coaching, adapting mid-game, etc…) are usually linked with intelligence and psychological makeup. Granted, you don’t have to be a great person to be a great basketball player. We’ll see.
I don’t really have a stake in this, as I’m not a T-Wolves fan and I’ve never previously had any strong feelings toward LaVine one way or the other. Personally, I just view him as an asshole because of this.
On another note entirely, it’s good to talk with you again. Not sure if you left the site for a while or our paths haven’t crossed, but you were always a cool poster.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantShabazz is a head case, Love is disgruntled, Berea and Love hate each other, Lavine is at the very least immature or was shortly ago and Rubio wants the max. All this for a group that made one of the smartest basketball minds in the world in Rick Adelman look like he can’t coach. Disfunction at its finest.

BajeebzParticipantDont give Adelman a pass; he was sleeping his way through his coaching tenure with the Wolves. But, yeah, you pretty much nailed the rest of it.
To brighter days ahead! Or Alcoholism! One or the other!

joecheck88ParticipantNo doubt. It could be a symptom of something more and the TWolves need to keep an eye on him(as they should for all players). You never really know who is capable of what. I’m sure the Patriots knew Aaron Hernandez had a past that was questionable but who could’ve known he’d be involved in the things he was involved in. Just think you use it as a teaching moment and do your best to keep him on the right track.
Good talking to you too. I’ve been around here and there. I actually thought maybe you had left. Haha. Hadn’t seen you in awhile either. I have been a little scarce lately though. Moved once for a job and now moving again. Busy time in my life.

Wahoo757ParticipantImmature for a 19 yr old might be out partying too late or not studying for a test. Throwing a shoe at a dog’s junk is indefensible. You know not to do that when your 8. Zach Lavine just seems like a POS.

Tim49461ParticipantWhat is wrong with you people you think riding Zach Lavines junk he is going to be your best friend?? Really who cares, he had no intelligence to know at 19 to know hitting Anything in the balls would hurt.
All of you who think I need to get a life are clearly 14 years old and have no understanding that people’s respect to life and animals they are bigger than, are a direct correlation to maturity. Meaning just because you are bigger than someone doesn’t mean you should assert power over them.
Go to college and learn how psychology works before you make stupid comments about how you want to be his friend and hope one day he will give season tickets because you defended him on nbadraft.net

Ghost01ParticipantRegardless of what you think of Lavine as a player or person, the fact all of you felt the need so badly to neg someone for saying he doesn’t like A player because he was torturing an animal is ridiculous.
Lavine is a mid first rounder who may never have a meaningful nba moment. If the OP found his actions distasteful, that is his right. He isn’t attacking this guys game, and none of you know him personally. So stop being so offended, and find better players to worry about.
