SpartanGloryParticipantI really like it, I wouldn’t change a thing except for James young is a little high and Payne is about 10-15 spots too low.

kobyzParticipantJames young, maybe i’m too much into the hype of his tournament play, but he showed some promise of an high level player with big time plays that he made and overall impressive basketballl, on the other hand Payne i’m not a big believer in him, to me there somthing erratic in him, his game seems to lack toughness…

Memphis MadnessParticipantI am laughing at teams trying to keep up with a three guard rotation of Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe, and Shabazz Napier.

imAboutDatActionParticipantnot to mention they drafted Archie Goodwin last year and still have Gerald Green.
i think its safe to say they arent going to be targeting a guard in this years draft.

juves4783Participanteric bledsoe is going to be a free agent. not sure why he is such a lock to return, especially since dragic is a pg.
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/11/2014 - 12:22pm #888324

WetalkinboutpracticeParticipantBecause he’s a "restricted" free agent. Phoenix will be able to match any offer sheet Bledsoe signs, and they almost certainly will do so even if another team over estimates and throws a max deal at him they won’t let him walk.

benny15ParticipantDid the ownership change? Im not that up to date but I recall sarver hating to pay his players top money unless they’re big big names in the league.

imAboutDatActionParticipantlove the Smart comparison.
while i agree with your Kyle Anderson comparison, i question if thats enough to be a #8 pick. will a GM waste a top 10 pick on a less athletic Livingston with some hedo sprinkled in?? i doubt it.
Early, Daniels, Napier is too high. Lavine too low. i actually pictured him falling in the Heat’s lap…LAWWWWD lol.

kobyzParticipantHedo alone was in his prime second best player on finals team, add to this a true PG skills and feel, and it’s fantastic player…

LindseyParticipantOnly issue I have is with your Lavine comparison. I’d put him up higher, late lotto to late teens and pitch him against a better ball handler than Gerald Green.

JoeWolf1Payne won’t drop to 30, he’d be a top 10 lock if he were 2 years younger. I think his range is 12-20
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/11/2014 - 1:15pm #888330

imAboutDatActionParticipantif he was 2 years younger, his game wouldnt be as developed.
but yes, he’s going in the late teens.

LA12ParticipantI know Lavine gets overrated for his potential sometimes, but I don’t see him falling past the teens or even the late lottery.
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/11/2014 - 2:23pm #888360

kobyzParticipantit’s hard for me to give credit to players selecting in the draft based on unrealized potential, i didn’t sew in his game grip of winning basketball or knowing how to be effective… it’s hard to estimate if the untapped potential will be realized…
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/11/2014 - 2:57pm #888366
LA12ParticipantEven if it isn’t fully realized he’d still probably be a better pro than some of the people put ahead of him. Just because his full potential won’t be met doesn’t mean he can’t still be a good pro.
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/11/2014 - 11:29pm #888462

kobyzParticipantThat’s the problem for me, I just can’t put a player who still isn’t close to playing the right way or effective way too high on the board… It’s very risky pick imo…

IhateusernamesParticipantI think the Michael Redd comparison is a bit lofty for Stauskas. I dont think he will sniff 20ppg in the league let alone the 24/25ppg Redd used to put up. Jodie Meeks is more accurate.
The Dale Ellis comp for McDermott was pretty good. Dale had a couple of monster years in Seattle scoring 27ppg, but the majority of the time he was a solid 15ppg as a designated sniper.
Id put LaVine way higher, but Derek Anderson is a good comp, but Id say he could be a better version of the best Derek Anderson.
Payne is too low as usual.
I dont see the Harrell/Brandan Wright comp. Wright was a prodigious talent coming out of UNC.
Overall a good read. Good work.

King CaluchaParticipantOverall it looks pretty solid. I might not agre with some comparisons but mentioning them would sound like nitpicking. I really like some of the comparisons you’re using like Exum being a taller John Wall (I think I may have been the first one to do so). Kyle Anderson being a less athletic Shaun Livingston meets Hedo haha… fantastic!
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/11/2014 - 10:34pm #888442

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI see the John Wall – Exum comp thrown around all the time and it annoys me. People who use this comp are more then often just going off a handful of articles they’ve read and a mixtape, and going "Hey this Exum kid is pretty fast, similar body type to Wall, heck they must play the same too!". Apart from their broken jumpers, they play differently in most fascets of the game. Exum drives with intent to score, and does not have the innate passing ability John had at college or that he has now. Exum is a better shooter then John was at this point as well. They similar speed and body types, and both are less then respectable shooters, but one is a shooting guard one is a point.
0- Posted on: Fri, 04/11/2014 - 11:21pm #888454

imAboutDatActionParticipantagree with this.
Exum doesnt have Wall’s speed tho. Wall is on a next level wit that. some people dont realize how great of a passer Wall is. he has great vision.
Exum may have some similarities wit the athletcism, but he’s not the true Point Wall is and we dont know if Exum can defend. we know Wall can.
