 Jordan McRae has been great for TENN over his past 2 years. He came up just short of SEC POY next to Caldwell-Pope who went in the lottery last year. McRae has quickly climbed up my favorite Vols list. With Jarnell Stokes and Jeronne Maymon being both terrific below-the-rim guys, the excitement usually comes from McRae slashing or leaking out on the fast break. As far as his NBA career goes, I belive if he was 1, maybe 2 years younger that he would be a lock for the 1st round. His 7’0" wingspan on a 6’5" guard is absolutely crazy. Normally rookies struggle on defense, but I believe that if McRae goes in with the mindset of scoring opportunistically and locking down on defense, that he can be a great 6th man. To be a guard and to rack up as many blocks and steals as he does is very intriguing. He has that showtime/clutch factor to him. When TENN offense got bogged down this year, we could always count on McRae to break out of it and go get a bucket. If it were not for age, I would take McRae over a number of first rounders. He’s a little on the skinny side, but that’s nothing a NBA training staff couldn’t fix. His FG% is a little skewed by the fact he was basically our only perimeter scoring threat. He has pretty good court vision for a scoring SG, maybe even enough to play some PG. Whoever decides to draft McRae will not be disappointed, because with a lesser workload, he’ll be more efficient and a morale killer for defenses.

My sleeper is still Dwight Powell. I think there has to be an NBA coach who can find a heartbeat in that kid and unlock his massive athleticism and skills.

 Athletic, quick guard who can really score. He’s a quality shooter and I think teams are starting to buy into the idea of him playing point instead of undersized two guard. Good value in the mid second round.

two sleeper prospects with physical positives like length and wingspan but with limitations like lack of strength to match: isaiah austin=highly skilled and long but weak,kyle anderson exceptional iq and passing ability but weak and slow. Both are sleepers to be more productive at the next level than your average draft would provide in the 2nd. However, that aside, I much rather consider a player overlooked heavily in this draft like sean kilpatrick or j m mcadoo who need discipline and a paycheck to keep them focused.
