mookieParticipantJust finished my 1st mock ever. Some of my picks were based on trades (i.e. I think Charlotte trades their 2nd pick and Drummonds the selection)

Sewok15ParticipantWas the fact that Kendall Marshall would go to boston and Terrance Jones go to Minnesota based on trades?
I would hope so because neither of the players fit those respective teams. Marshall is a pass first point guard and the Celtics best player on their roster is the same thing. Why would they draft Marshall when he would get little to no playing time because he would not be able to play with Rondo due to his lack of size and shooting.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI like DC with MKG and then Will Barton in the second round. Those guys along with John Wall should be entertaining even if they still miss the playoffs. Plus they have Vesely and Nene. That would be a very fun team to watch. I would definitely come to see them when the play the Grizzlies.
I like Miles Plumlee in the mid-second round. Big guy with great hops. Wasn’t known as a high basketball IQ guy at Duke but hopefully he learned something from Coach K. If he gets even a semi-decent mid-range jumper he could turn into a taller, high-flying Nick Collison. That would be a pretty good pick for the mid-second round.
I think the Heat pick someone other than Jeff Taylor. The Heat seem to be stacked at small forward with LeBron, Battier, Mike Miller, and even James Jones. I would look for them to go with a center or maybe Doron Lamb if he is there. He can shoot the 3 and be a solid backup to Wade and Chalmers.
I really like Kendall Marshall but I doubt he goes to the Celtics even if he drops that far. The Celtics are set at point guard. It is the other four positions on the court that are question marks for Boston if and when they decide to rebuild. I think Royce White might be a bit better. Good athletic power forward who can pass or finish. They should also look at Draymond Green. A bit undersized as a 4 but he can rebound and do a bunch of things on the court. He is a great leader with a high basketball IQ and a willing passer. I can see him and Rondo being the cornerstones of the Celtics future. Or, if they bring KG back, Green would be a good threat and a solid fourth or fifth option if they don’t bring Ray Allen back too. If I were the Celtics I would resign KG for one more run. Give Ray Allen a low offer and negotiate from there. If they can get a good price for him they should resign him. If not, use that money elsewhere, hopefully with a younger player. I can see Rondo, Paul Pierce, KG, Avery Bradley, and possibly Draymond Green, another rookie, plus a free agent shooting guard making a nice run again.
Overall, good mock draft. The Blazers make a few sexy picks in Damian Lillard at 6 and Perry Jones at 11 but they could really pay off.

MakarosParticipantI’d switch around Lillard and PJ III as Portland’s picks..
other than that, I like it! Good job..

mookieParticipantThanks…I appreciate the feedback. Yeah I figured Marshall would get picked up based on best player available and get traded later. Without a consistent jumper and not so great on defense, I think he’ll slip a little. Henson might slip as well due to his thin frame. I agree with Portland..they have an interesting draft and if they end up with Jones III and Lilard, I think the potential there would be the steal of the draft. About Draymond Green, I’m a State fan, but I don’t think he’s quick enough for the 3 in the NBA or big enough for the 4. People compare him to Udonis Haslem, butI dont see the compairson at all. He’s got heart and is a hard worker but I just think he’s limited due to his body.
