The right thing to do. He is a lock for the top 10, some even feeling he could go top 5. I am not sure he is "Eric Gordon with more upside" as Chad Ford was claiming GM’s were touting him, but he certainly seems like a really solid SG prospect. My guess is he probably goes no lower than Gordon did in the 2008 Draft, where he was the 7th pick.

I think the perfect situation for him would be Portland. I believe he does have more upside than Gordon, especially defensively and on the boards. He LED the gators in rebounding this year with almost 7 a game. He is an all around talent and is a great piece to build a team with. As a fellow St. Louisian, i wish him all the best and hope he doesn’t flame out like Larry Hughes…

 I dont get the Gordon comparisons…

Gordon had an NBA ready game and body when he was in college.  He could really shoot it deep too.  Not saying that Beal isnt NBA ready, but he seems more in the mold of Allen/Hamilton as a guy who will need to work heavy off of screens as opposed to Gordon who can score in a few different ways plus get to cup, drive-n-dish.  I am not saying that Beal wont be better, but I dont see how their game styles are similar.  They are two different molds/prototypes.

The Celts could really be a great fit for him.  The main talk about Rivers is only because of Doc.  Beal would fit much better in Boston that Rivers I believe.    Beal may be the guy the Cavs really have their eye on though.

I don’t think Beal will be much off the dribble, but I could be wrong. I see him as a catch and shoot guy. I think he will rebound ok but not like in College. He will be a good Pro.

I think the best fit for Beal would be Cleveland. Cleveland’s biggest team need is at SG (Anthony Parker and Manny Harris are their curent SG’s) and I think his game would fit in better with Irving rather than Jeremy Lamb or Austin Rivers.

Brad Beal is good and all. But I have seen it time and time again where a highy rated SG from college comes in and winds up stuggling. I mean he’s good, but will he be like every other SG that goes into the league and struggles? Or will he at least be a servieable player? I think its kind of risky in my opinion.

im not saying he would go second over-all above the other prospects in the draft, but i would really like to see him in washington next to john wall. he fits their offense style of play and would bring them a winning mentality from a young guy. as a freshman, he lead the gators to the elite eight, playing out of position. i see him as a better defensive player than Jordan Crawford as well and would want to see that guy off the bench in Washington in a role more appropriate to what he brings to the table.

 He’s got some learning to do. He rebounds well and is mature at some facets of the game, mostly fundamentals and his physique, but he didnt shoot great last year for a guy who was touted as a sharpshooter, and he didnt play great in some conference games. I think its gonna take some figuring out for him on how to score efficiently, but he will get there because he’s savvy and fundamentally sound with the the tools to be a very good SG.

 " i was expecting this guy to be mainly as a 3pt threat/ spot up shooter coming into FL. but seriously, i said this before and now im more convinced than ever, beal is not that ray allen, or anywhere near that type of player. this is very controversial, but i think beal best game is actually attacking the basket, with a nice court vision to complement the slashing game, his dribble is not completely fluid but this guy is VERY quick and strong, built like a mini-lebron james. not a lot of freshmen prospect when attacking the basket areable to "cup the ball" (in their 2 steps), draw contact, power thru D, and lay it up like he does. he’s averaging 5 FT a game as a fr. for a reason. (top 6 among fr.)…. he is also relentless on the glass (including offensively) not something you’d expect from your typical ray allen type of player."

so he’s going to be using his improved shot to create straight line drives consistently. he’s an underrated ball handler when judging from a PG prospect perspective, he just didn’t show much signs of creating space for a shot or actual "shooting off the dribble". i feel more confident with him bringing the ball up in the nba better than lamb, ross, and possibly rivers, who all have shown more signs of true "shooting of the dribble".

overall, i think he’s an overall player lol
