I believe BG is the most underrated player in the NBA..he probably won’t make any All-star teams but when given big minutes he is as deadly a scorer in the league.. Plus he is clutch in the playoffs…If he where 6’5 would he be consider a star?

    Who are other underrated players?

I don’t think he’s underrated at all. If anything, he’s a little overrated in my book… He’s definitely not worth the contract Detroit gave him. He can score, which is a great skill to have, but that’s about all he can do. He’s absolutely terrible on the defensive end of the floor and he has bad shot selection. He may score 30, but he’ll give up 30 at the other end.

Most underrated Pau Gasol, most overrated Lebron James. Ben Gordon is not underrated but to answer your question if Ben Gordon was 6’5″ he would be better than Kobe Bryant.

Jeff Green is everything Marvin Williams was supposed to be. Green has become a very good shooting SF playing PF, who makes good passes and uses his mismatch ability to be disruptive on the defensive end. I think that he’s overshadowed greatly by Durant, but he’s the second best player on the Thunder.

Sup are you DeShawn Stevenson? LOL

Anyway, BG is overrated… overpaid… etc… all over… I mean, he’s good as an offensive player who got a nose for the basket but when you got an $10 Million Dollar contract, you gotta do more than just score especially for a Pistons team that needs a pass-first PG whereas they got Will, Stuckey, Rip and Gordon… I don’t think they got enough unselfish players to make this team work…

Really..His defense is not that bad, he is guarding guys 4inches taller…Im sure you guys praised A.I and he didn’t even try..leading the league in steals just shows he gambled way too much…Also saying he just scores..Take a look a what RIP and Ray Allen have done in the assist reb department..you wouldn’t say that about them 19,3,3 for a career and he makes big shots, ill take that….By the way, those where reggie miller career numbers as well and he was 6’7….Rebuttal?

It’s not just from a scoring standpoint, but an efficiency standpoint as well. Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton don’t have the same reputation as Ben Gordon when it comes to shot selection. As for Iverson, his FG% can tell you a few things about his shot selection, but his free throw attempts combined with his lack of height and girth speaks volumes about his aggressiveness and fearless mentality.

Lol that’s a good ass point about Reggie Miller only averaging about 18, 3 and 3 for his career. At 6′ 7″ 195 lbs Miller wasn’t a good rebounder, nor did he create for his teammates. I think Miller was a much better defender than Gordon though.

I think most people realize that Iverson was just great at playing the passing lanes and not actual on the ball defense. When you consider how much Gordon is getting paid, he is pretty overrated. He is that bad at defense and his shot selection is atrocious. As mentioned above, the difference that separates him between Ray and Rip is his shot selection.

I don’t remember if it was a TV analyst or Larry Brown himself, but somebody called Allen Iverson “the worst defender in the league” when he played with the Sixers. While I wouldn’t go THAT far, it is pretty obvious that opposing shooting guards could just shoot right over him on a consistent basis. I think that Miller was a much better defender than both Iverson and Gordon simply because of his size and length. People just associate Miller with bad defense because he wasn’t a great athlete, and his shooting ability overshadowed anything else he did, like his clever ability to get to the foul line. Not to mention his infamous leg kicks 🙂

Lol yep… As a Pacers fan, I can’t forget those leg kicks! Man… I miss them days! At 6’7″ 195 lbs Miller was a GREAT competitor. He was definitely a better defender than Iverson and Gordon. Miller had pretty good defensive fundamentals.
