As a Thunder fan, I can say that I’m very happy we made this trade. Although I’d say just off the top of my head the Denver-Portland trade seems to be pretty lopsided in favor of Portland

Nurkic looks like a big you can count on for your team’s "core."

Yup those are two landslide trades in favor or Portland and OKC. I’ll mention the Bucks Plumlee trade too. Getting out of that contract for basically nothing was a robbery.Hibbert never played but Hawes stepped in for some decent minutes and has played some in the playoffs already. Most importantly 4 years 50 million out the door!

The funny thing is the Bulls also gave up a 2nd round pick even though the trade was already lopsided. None of the OKC players the Bulls got made our rotation, and likely will not be in an NBA rotation next year. Taj is currently starting in the playoffs and Doug can be a solid bench piece.

Taj was going to be a free agent but the Bulls giving up a shooter like McDermott was strange. Taj was still a regular starter for the Bulls and unless they got a favourable offer for him there was no real reason to deal him.

He may well have got a lot of interest in the summer as he is seen as a good veteran presence and a defensive enforcer. But he’d been at Chicago 8 years and was playing well so if the figures added up, they would surely have considered keeping him if he had wanted to stay.

Ironic that Portland took Denver for a pick and a bigger salary as I felt Plumlee and Nurkic were fairly evenly matched in a straight up swap.
