I with tezo, they could all be key role players but i don’t see any of them being stars. In saying that if i had to pick one it would be Young as he has a lot of potential.

McGee probably has the most upside on the list as far as what he could become.

Ty Lawson who started for a top level contender in the west when Chauncey Billups was injured, he had solid stats, mid to high teens in scoring and 5 or so assists per game. Considering his speed and the NBA’s policy on hand checking id have to say he has the best shot at it, all he really needs is a consistent outside shot, which is appearently the easiest aspect of an NBA game to improve.

I’d say Thaddeus Young has the potential to be the best of that bunch, but like everybody esle, I dont see any “stars” on that list. Young is a solid player and I think he’ll get even better offensively, I could see him being a solid number 2 scoring option on a pretty good team.

I also think Blair will have a good career, He wont be a 20 ppg guy, but I think he’ll average anywhere from 12-15 ppg and 8-10 rpg if he stays healthy. He’s an animal, and a freak of nature…and above all of that, he works his ass off. Alot of guys on that list might not do that.

I watched Javale McGee play against the Knicks and kept asking myself who is this guy? He was a terror on defense, blocking shots and/or intimidating every NY player who drove to the hoop. On offense he wasn’t exactly polished, but for a big guy, he wasn’t too bad. McGee has a long way to go, but I agree with Tezo83, he’s the number one candidate on the list.

My 2nd choice would be Ty Lawson, another PG drafted by Minnesota, who foolishly traded him to the Nuggets. I don’t know if Lawson is a better overall player than Flynn, but he’s definitely a better PG.

My 3rd choice is a long shot for stardom, Danilo Gallinari. He’s only 21 years old and most people forget this is actually his rookie season. When his body matures over the next couple of years he’ll become stronger which will give him the ability to work inside more often. Every now and then Gallinari shows flashes of his ability to drive to the hoop and I wonder why he doesn’t do it more often? But then I come back to the fact that he’s very young and still learning the nuances of the game.

Gallinari also needs an offense designed to get him open with lots of screens, and right now, that ain’t happening in New York.

Finally, I wouldn’t be surprised of Thaddeus Young developed into a star.

McGhee has a weak offensive game maybe that improves with more playing time.

Gallinari and McGee have the most potential of all those players on that list to be a star.

I think Gallinari will have the best chance though. He plays on a team that fits him exceptionally well, he’s got the potential to be a 20 ppg scorer as he can slash and shoot and he can be the ultimate 2nd option. He also has the size to get his shots off whenever, wherever. Add in that he at least tries on D and passes well and you have a future star.
