I was watching some highlights (past/present) the other day and I ended up watching Charles Barkely during his days with the 76ers. Man… That dude was a MONSTER on the fast break. The speed/power at which he pushed the ball and the way he finished around and over players was something amazing. My question is, who do you guys think are the most intimidating players (past/present) on the fast break?

Karl Malone would run right over you and lead with his knees if you got in his way.
Lebron looks like he is shot out of a cannon everytime he gets out on the break, you can either get out the way or be on a poster.
Kidd and Magic were probably the best at leading a break.

What about Allen Iverson DURING HIS PRIME? Remember when he’d get on the fast break and put defenders on their heels w/ his speed, quickness and finishing ability? He was relentless.

LeBron, dude is looking to dunk each and everytime on the break. Also when the other team is on the Fast break he will run and hunt you down for the block.

Josh Smith. You don’t want to be on a poster. Plus he is pretty intimidating on defense on a fastbreak.

John Bryant without a doubt. Dude got drafted in the 2nd round of the YMCA draft. He has been running the court like a elegant antelope this season during the 3 on 3 league.

off people who put fear in u when they come at u whether by using their size or their quickness. My guys are Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Shawn Kemp, and Shaq. Even tho AI is small he puts fear in u becuz he isnt afraid of u and is so quick that for u 2 fall on ur a$$ isnt just a possibility it probably will happen. Lebron James becuz he has everything u want in a guy on the break. He has speed, strength, and no fear of wat will happen 2 him. SHawn Kemp and shaq make my list simply becuz if they are on the break whether they score or not if u get in their way stitches will be required

It’s most intimidating, not most impressive. So Nash can’t be in it

If u talk bout the old days i would say julius erving he was the lebron in their time and Sean Kemp was a dunking machine and Charles Barkley was a beast and he was only 6’4.

For today’s game i will say Josh Smith and Lebron if u try to block they run threw u and dunk or they just jump over you.

I would never want to see Monta Ellis with a whole lotta space on the floor. He’s too dam quick! Not that he’s necessarily intimidating… but he is unreal with a little space. I think if it was 3-on-3 he would be one of the best around. He was so good two years ago

Two years ago, I would’ve said that Monte was the fastest player in the league. He’s still fast, but I think he’s lost a step do to that stupid ankle injury.

The most intimidating player on a fast break play? Good Question…
    Mine are:

    Offense:
History: Michael Jordan is an intimidating presence on a fastbreak because he usually posterizes you in a million ways… I also like Dr. J, Dominique and Shawn Kemp… They are scary to look at for the defense…

Present: LeBron James is an intimidating specimen because he is agile and strong enough to stop the defensive player on a fastbreak… Derrick Rose can embarass you in more ways than one… Josh Smith can soar on anyone that stands in his way…

    Defense:
History: Michael Cooper is so athletic and he uses that advantage by stopping a fastbreak from happening… I also loved Scottie Pippen and MJ for not giving up a fastbreak point that easily… Example? Xavier McDaniel of the Knicks when he stole the ball from MJ and was fooled into thinking he will get away with a dunk… MJ taps the ball out of his hands to prevent an easy basket…

Present: I just love the chasedown blocks made by Josh Smith and LeBron James… That to me is an intimidating style of fastbreak on defense…
